THI S Lodge held its installation meeting on Thursday , the 20 th inst ., at Freemasons' Hall . Present : —Bros . T . Reed P . M . as W . M ., George William West P . M . as S . W ., George J . K . Tribbel J . W . W . M . elect , Past Masters T . Staton Secretary , and Samuel Webb Treasurer , Owen S . D ., Cleghorn J . D ., Kempton as I . G ., Rawles Tyler ; Past Masters Reed , Forbes , Jupe , Christie , ^ Vest . Visitors—Bros . Augustus Brann P . M . and P . Z . 766 , Kerrell 145 , Kennard 145 ,

Little , Guignard , and a large muster of other brethren . In the unavoidable absence of the W . M . Bro . Robinson , the Lodge was opened in due form by Bro . Reed P . M . The minutes were read and confirmed . Bro . Myatt wa 3 raised to the third degree , after which Mr . Torokins was regularly initiated into the Order , the ceremony in each case being performed by Bro . Reed in his accustomed impressive

menner . The Lodge was then resumed to the second degree , and Bro . George William West P . M ., by special desire , took the chair as Installing Master . The Worshipful Master elect , Bro . George Joseph Keith Tribbel , was then duly presented , and Bro . West P . M . proceeded with the installation , whioh that worthy Mason performed in such a clear and eloquent manner as is rarely listened to . Indeed ,

the Lodge may well be proud of so able a Past Master—one ever ready to assist in whatever work he may be called npon to perform . Bro . Tribbel , being duly installed into the chair of King Solomon , invested , with well-chosen and impressive words , the following Officers : —Bros . Cleghorn S . W ., Owen J . W ., S . Webb Treasurer , Staton Secretary , Bathard S . D ., Kempton J . D ., Kane I . G . The

W . M . then rose for the first time , and the report of the Audit Committee was confirmed ; it showed an unusually large balance in hand for so young , but certainly prosperous , Lodge . All labour being ended , the brethren adjourned to the large Hall , where a magnificent banquet was served , under the presidency of the new and esteemed Worshipful Master . The usual Loyal and Masonio toasts

having been given and honoured , the Acting I . P . M . Bro . West pro . posed the health of the Worshipful Master , which was most enthutically received . Bro . Tribbel , in responding , said that he could scarcely find words to express his gratitude to the Lodge for placing him in his present high and important position ; nothing should be wanting on his part to strengthen the confidence the brethren had

reposed in him . He hoped that the G . A . O . T . H . would give him health and strength to carry out his duties with credit to himself and to the satisfaction of the brethren . After the Initiates' toast , the W . M . gave that of the Visitors , coupling with it the name of Bro . Braun P . M ., who , in responding , said that he was truly glad to have the opportunity afforded him of being present on so important

an occasion as seeing his old friend Bro . Tribbel attain the Butnmit of his Masonic ambition . He spoke in terms of the highest praise of the Wor . Master ' s constant industry and zeal in the field of Masonic labour ; by these means alone he had , after but comparatively few years , attained the proud position he now held , Bro . Kerrell also spoke in high terms of the Lodge in general and its financial position ; the members might well bo proud of belonging

to such a Lodge . To the toast of the Past Masters , Bro . West responded ; he was proud to be one of the Past Masters of the Great Northern Lodge , all of them took a keen interest in its welfare . He also referred , with much feeling , to the illness of Bro . Robinson . After the other regular toasts , the brethren separated , all satisfied with the pleasant evening they had spent at the Great Northern Lodge .

We are informed that the members of the New Finsbury Park Lodges No . 1695 , and of the Sir Hugh Middelton Lodge , No . 1602 , have arranged to hold a joint ball , at the Cannon-street Hotel , on Monday , the 7 th February next , when the whole of the spacious and elegant suite of rooms

will be at the disposal of the visitors . A dispensation has been obtained , enabling the brethren to appear in Masonic clothing and jewels . The musical arrangements are under the direction of Bro . R . G . Thomas , Organist 1602 ; and

Bro . J . Jarvis will act as M . C . The price of tickets is , for ladies 8 s 6 d ; gentlemen 12 s 6 d . We can only hope that as great a success will be the result of this as has attended previous balls given by the same Lodges .
