NOTICES OF MEETINGS .
CRAFT . STAFFORDSHIRE KNOT LODGE , No . 726 .
ON Wednesday evening , the 19 th inst ., a large gathering of the brethren of this Lodge assembled at the installation meeting , whioh was held at the Swan Hotel , Stafford , when Bro . C . J . Nevitt was impressively installed as Worshipful Master by the retiring Master , Bro . W . G . Taylor . He afterwards invested the following Officers : —Bros . W . G . Taylor I . P . M ., G . Wormal S . W ., J . E . Evans
J . W ., the Rev . A . H . Talbot Chaplain , J . Mottram Treasurer , J . T . Mnrson Secretary , W . Hall S . D ., the Rev . S . Wiokham Jones J . D ., " P . H . Harston Director of Ceremonies , J . Jackson Organist , F . Amies I . G ., J . P . Gates and J . Jackson Stewards , and G . Hebb 9 rt Tyler . The brethren present at the ceremony included P . M . ' s Brothers Jno . Storer , W . Worthington , and a large number of Visitors . At the oonolusion of the business of the Lodge , the company adjourned to an exoellent banquet , served in the usual able manner by Miss Perks . The floral decorations upon the tables were
exquisitely arranged , and wero much admired . The usual Masonio toasts were duly received and honoured . Daring the evening songs , & c , were well rendered by a glee party composed of Bros . Newns ,, A . Smith , W . H . Smith , and E . A . Smith , and Mr . W . E . Allen , Mr J . Jackson , A . C . O ., ably accompanying , and a very pleasant evening was spent .
GOSPORT LODGE , No . 903 . THE regular meeting of this Lodge was held at the India Arms Hotel , Go 3 port , on Tuesday evening , 11 th inBfc ., when the Worshipful Master ( Bro . Montague Hart ) gave a very tangible proof of his proficiency in the art by performing the ceremonies of initiation , passing and raising . It is always gratifying to see a young Master take to his work in this vigorous manner ; tea muoh praise
cannot be given to the conscientious minuteness with whioh every detail of the ceremonies was carried out . Labonr being ended , ample justice was done to tho refreshments provided at tho supper i table . Past Masters from neighbouring Lodges congratulated the Worshipful Master upon the very successful manner in which he
had gone through the whole of his work that evening . Wo do not think it desirable that the three degrees shoald be worked the same night , unless in cases of emergency , yet it shows groat application and determination on the part of a W . M ., when in the flush of bis early membership he does go through the three ceremonies .
SIR FRANCIS BTJRDETT LODGE , No . 1503 . rpHIS Lodge met for the despatch of business at the Albany Hotel -L Twickenham , on the 12 th inst ., whea there were present , among others , Bros . Colonel R . Coming W . M ., the llov . S . T . H . S & nnders P . M . P . P . G . Chaplain acting S . W ., E . W . Davis J . W ., J . T . Briggs P . M . P . P . G . D . Treasurer , Captain T . C . Walls P . M . P . P . G . W . Secretary , A . Toulmin jun . I . P . M ., and others . The minntea of the
previous meeting wore read and confirmed , and Brother Linnell was impressivoly raised to the third degree by the Worshipful Master . Subsequently he was appointed Inner Guard . The Treasuror then submitted his annual financial statement , which was in every way satisfactory . The name of Brother W . ? ishor P . M . 1572 P . Z ., & c , was proposed and seconded as a joining member for ballot at the
next meeting . Apologies for non-attendance were received from Bros . W . H . Saunders P . M . P . P . G . D ., Captain Perry J . W ., A . Macchi S . D ., L . Saunders J . D ., and others . The Lodge was then closed , and the brethren adjourned to banquet . Bro . the Rev . S . T . H . Saunders responded on behalf of the Provincial Grand Officers Present and Past . The I . P . M . proposed the health of the Worshipful Master . In
the course of his remarks he mentioned the circumstance that Bro . Colonel Cuming , in order to be present that evening , had travelled all the way from Italy . They had seer , how well he had done Lis work . Personally he hoped that their Worshipful Master would have other opportunities of exhibiting his skill before ho vacated the chair . The Worshipful Master having replied , gave the Past Mastei ? ,
coupled with the name of Brother A . Toulmin jun . I . P . M . The latter , in the course of his reply , stated that he had boon honoured with the collar of a Provincial Grand Steward , which position he hed gratefully accepted . Bros . Briggs and Walls acknowledged the toast of the Treasurer and Secretary . Tbe former congratulated the
Lodge on its continued prosperity . He had done his best for 1503 , and he hoped to be spared to do more . His efforts were in every way supported by the Secretary , who worked with him most loyally and harmoniously . Bros . Davis and Linnell responded on behalf of the Officers . The proceedings then terminated .
LODGE OF CONCORD , No . 1534 . THE regular meeting of this Lodge was held at Chester Bank , Prestwich , on Thursday , the 20 th inst ., Brother W . Willoughby Briggs W . M . There was a good attendance of Officers and Members and Bro . Henry B . Fawssett , who had satisfactorily answered the test questions , was duly raised to the sublime degree of a M . M .
nnder very favourable auspices , the Worshipful Master performing the ceremony in his usual admirable manner . Bro . W . H . Norton S . W . delivered the charge , Bro . William B . Midgley J . W ., as on former occasions , presented the working tools , and Brother S . F .

Simmons P . M . gave the traditional history . This quartette of workers , all excellent in their several parts , rendered a very im . pressive ceremony with a variety aud charm whioh was pleaaing to tho auditors . After Lodge business , the brethren adjourned to the festive board , and the remainder of the evening was spent in an enjoyable manner .
ARNOLD LODGE , No . 1799 . THE monthly meeting of this Lodge was held at the Marine Hotel ' Walton-on-Naze , on Tuesday , the 25 th instant , when a good muBter of the brethren assembled to vote for the coming Worshipful Master . Amongst tho Visitors were Brothers T . J . Railing P . G . Secretary , and Barker 2063 . The Officers present were Bros . W . E . Sutton W . M ., J . T . Harman S . W ., H . Finer P . M . as J . W ., E . Osmond
Treasurer , C . W . Randall S . D ., W . Chamberlain J . D ., R . H . Scott Secretary , E . Dorling P . M . aa I . G . ; JP . M . ' s C . Hampson , Scarlett , Wright , Pengelly , Collins , and many others . The Worshipful Master passed aud raised two members in a splendid manner . On the ballot being taken for the election of Worshipful Master for the ensuing
year Brother J . T . Harman the S . W . was unanimously elected ; Brother E . Osmond was re-elected aa Treasurer , and Brother Cutter as Tyler . The Stewardship of the Boys' School was then brought before the Lodge , and on the proposition of Brother Scarlett , seconded by Brother Dorling , ten guineas was voted to be placed on
the Worshipful Master a list , who will support the Provmoial Grand Master , Lord Brooke , and represent the Lodge at the Festival . The list was then sent round the Lodge , and £ 57 odd was announced , with
great applause . A banquet was afterwards served by Bro . Bolton , tbe new manager , in first rate style ; the menu was exoellent , and did great credit to all concerned . The installation festival will take place on the 3 rd of May .
ST . CLAIR LODGE , No . 2074 . THE installation of Brother Woodthorpo as W . M . of this Lodge , took place at the Freemasons' Hall , Landport , on Monday , the 17 th inst . The installing ceremony was ably performed by Bro , Dart P . M ., who received a hearty vote of thanks . A handsome Past Master's jewel was presented to the outgoing Worshipful Master ( Bro . J . Herbert N . Bandy ) in recognition of his services during the
