Turner was passed to the degree of Fellow Craft . Messrs . H . E . Carr , M . Hampt , and L . C . Kinadete were balloted for and initiated .
Too much praise cannot be given for the splendid working of the W . M ., who gave the degrees in a most impressive manner . After the closing of the Lodge , the Brethren adjourned to the Holborn Restaurant , and partook of banquet in the Throne room , King ' s Hall . The harmony of the evening was contributed to by Bros . W . W . George , Boswell , E . Roberts , Clinch , and others .
The usual toasts were given and responded to , the evening closing with the Tyler ' s toast . A very deserving case was brought before the Lodge , in the appeal of Bro . Short , who is on the verge of starvation . The case was introduced by Brother Barter , and supported by P . M . Brickdale . The Lodge unanimously voted £ 10 , and at the banquet the charity box was passed round , with the result that a further & 5 was collected , the two amounts being handed over to Bro . Barter , to be given to Bro . Short .
DUKE OF ALBANY LODGE , No . 1963 . SOME fourscore Officers , Brethren , and Visitors assembled at the Surrey Masonic Hall , on Thursday , 20 th inst ., the occasion being the installation meeting . The Lodge was opened at 5 p . m . by Bro . C . James W . M ., when the minutes , balance sheet , and report of the Audit Committee having been duly read and approved , he proceeded to raise Bro . C . D . Collins in an impressive
manner . The installation ceremony then took place , the outgoing W . M . acting as Installing Master , and delivering the ritual in a manner which called for the hearty congratulations of the Brethren present . The new Master Bro . J . A . Randall P . M . afterwards invested the Officers . Before the Lodge closed a vote of condolence was passed with Bro . Phillips in his illness .
After the banquet and the Loyal toasts the W . M . proposed the Installing Master , in felicitous terms , and presented him . with a Past Master ' s jewel in the name of the Lodge .

Worthington was raised to the third degree . Messrs . Sargant , Haines , Bill , Ellis , and Christopherson were elected members of the Lodge , and Messrs . Sargant , Haines , and Bill being in attendance were duly initiated into Freemasonry ,
Bro . W . J . Walsham , F . R . CS . England , was elected Worshipful Master for the ensuing year . Bro . W . Gripper , M . B . Cantab ., M . R . C . S . England , was elected Treasurer , and Bro . Madden Tyler . Messrs . Matthews and Miles were proposed as members . A donation was voted in aid of the restoration of St . Saviour ' s Church , Southwark . Sixty members and their friends subsequently dined together .
INSTRUCTION . — : o : — LA TOLERANCE LODGE , No . 538 . THE annual festival and supper of this Lodge was held on Wednesday , 19 th inst ., at the Restaurant Frascati , Oxford Street , W ., when nearly 200 Brethren and their lady and gentlemen friends sat down . The supper provided was of the choicest , and served with the usual style for which this Restaurant is so well noted . Bro . W . E . Willby P . M . Secretary presided , and in fact was chiefly instrumental in arranging the whole programme . The toast of the Queen , Royal Family , and the Craft , was given and received with much enthusiasm .
Bro . Willby proposed the Lodge of Instruction , which was ably responded to by Bros . G . Hill P . M . Treas ., J . Paul P . M . Preceptor , and Bro . T . Smale P . M . P . Z . Joint Secretary . The next toast was the President , proposed by Bro . G . T . Augspurg W . M . of the Mother Lodge . Bro . Willby , in responding , expressed the great interest he felt in the Lodge of Instruction , and spoke of the zeal and untiring energy of Bro . Smale as Joint Secretary .
The toast of the Ladies , coupled with the name of Bro . Howard E . Mullins Steward 211 ( Ohairmoh of the Committee ) , was received with considerable applause . Bro . Mullins . in replying , thanked the President for the very graceful terms in which the toast was proposed , and the Brethren and their friends for the very hearty manner in which they had received it . The Ladies had
spent a most enjoyable evening and were delighted with their reception . Mr . R . G . Browne then very eloquently replied on behalf of the Visitors . The musical part of the programme was contributed by Mrs . Willby , Miss Palmer , Miss Maudie Willby , Mr . Martin Forishen , Miss Florence Grove , Mr . Gurney Russell , Mrs . Neck , Bro . A . E . Mullins W . M . 1446 , Mr . Howard Tombleson , Mr . Fred Wilson , Bro . Neck , and Master Ricardo .
Miss Maudie Willby's masterly style of handling the guitar and piano , and her recitations met with tremendous applause . Bro . A . E . Mullins ' s rendering of " Jack's tho boy " was greatly appreciated . The comic songs of Mr . Fred Wilson created good hearty laughter , and Master Ricardo proved himself quite a little genius ; his comic songs were loudly encored . Bro . Sturgess is to be greatly complimented on the able and gallant manner in which he assisted the artistes . After " Auld lang syne " had been heartily sung the company dispersed , about 11 * 80 p . ni ., after spending a very happy evening .

THE Great Western Railway Company announces excursions on Thursday , 3 rd June , to Cork and Killarney , and on Friday , 4 th June , to Cardiff , Newport , Swansea , New Milford , Waterford , Killarney , Belfast , Armagh , Lame , Giant ' s Causeway , and other stations in South Wales and Ireland . A fast excursion train for the West of England will leave Paddington at 7 . 55 a . m . on Saturday , 5 th June , reaching Exeter in 5 h hours and Plymouth in 7 | hours ,
