The Grand Superintendent addressed the assembled Companions , and in thanking them for their presence , expressed his gratification on the progress being made in Royal Arch Masonry by the further addition of a new Chapter in the Province . He considered the thanks of all present were due to the Committee appointed to visit the
various Chapters in the Province , with a view to encourage them in their efforts to promote good and efficient work , and to assist the Principals and other Officers in performing the ceremonies with that perfectness that was so desirable in the sublime degree . He stated it was decided to hold the next year ' s Provincial meeting in Stockport .
Companion W . Welsby , of the Cestrian Chapter , was unanimously elected Prov . Grand Treasurer for the ensuing year . The following Companions were invested by the Prov . Grand Superintendent as his Officers for the ensuing year : —

AN interesting gathering took place at Leamington , on Monday , 24 th inst ., when , by command of the Prov . Grand Superintendent Lord Leigh the annual general convocation of the Provincial Grand Chapter of Warwickshire was held at the Masonic Rooms , Willes Road . There was a large attendance , the gathering including many past Officers of the Province . For the convenience of visiting

members from Birmingham and other places , special railway arrangements were made , a saloon being attached to the train leaving Snow Hill at 4 p . m ., and also to the return train leaving Leamington at 8 * 18 . The Grand Superintendent was unfortunately unable to be present at the gathering .
The Provincial Grand Chapter was opened at five o'clock , and after the usual formal business had been transacted , the Officers for the ensuing year were appointed and invested .
Companion George Beech presided , the attendance including visitors from other Provinces , among these being Col . Bindley . The whole of the business of the convocation
having been disposed of , members assembled for the banquet , which took place at six o ' clock , and at which there was a large and influential attendance , Companion George Beech again presiding .
The usual Loyal and Arch toasts were proposed and duly honoured .
One of the subjects brought forward at the convocation was the Masonic presentation which is being arranged for Lord Leigh , to commemorate- the golden wedding of his
lordship and Lady Leigh . The presentation is to be an exclusively Masonic one , and may probably be made at the date when the county presentation takes place . The Prov . Grand Chapter voted a sum of money to the presentation fund .
The Chester Brethren are looking forward with much interest to the meeting of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Cheshire , which will take place in that city in 18 99 . The
last similar gathering in the city was in 1887 ( Jubilee year ) , when Lord Egerton of Tatton was installed Grand Master of the Province , in place of the late Lord de Tabley , who had resigned through ill health .
Bro . R . V . Vassar-Smith Provincial Grand Mark Master of Gloucestershire and Herefordshire has been honoured with nomination by the Prince of Wales as his Deputy for the ensuing year in Grand Mark Lodge .
