On bis proposition it was resolved , with silent and respeotfu ! unanimity , that votes of condolence and sympathy shonld be forwarded to the Most Worshipfol Grand Muster and the members of His Royal Family . The minutes of the previous regular Lodge meeting , and those of a

Lodge of Emergency , held on tbe 5 th inst ., were confirmed , as were also the minutes of the Audit Committee , the balance-sheet showing improvement on ( he financial results of the past year , a considerablei increase in the admirable Benevolent Fund provided by the Lodge for the immediate and material relief of such of its necessitous members as , on occasion , may requiro

assistance . The Senior Wardtn , Bro . Maurice Bash W . M .-eleot , was then presented for installation and placed in the ohair of K . S ., according- to ancient caatom . Tho beautiful and impressive ceremony was performed by the Installing Master Bro . C Danoyger , the retiring W . M ., in tho most perfect manner , tho oratory and elocution displayed by him in the several addresses to tho newly Installed

Master , his Wardens , Officers , and Brethren , c » lling forth high ' y deserved encomiums from tbe many visitors present . The Board cf Installed Masters numbered twenty-one . Bro . D * ncyger on the completion of his fiual duty as the outgoing Master was preiented with a handsome Past Master ' s jewel in testimony of his valuable servicer , and acknowledged its receipt in a few brief and sincerely expressed

The snm of ton guineas was voted to be placed on bis list . This waa supplemoiited later in the evening by numerous individual donation ? . A candidate

for initiation having baen proposed , and hearty good wishes express ? d by tbe several visitor * , the Lodge was closed in dne form . TIio banquet was hold in tho Pillar Hall , and was served iu the customary efficient style associated with tbe Csnnon Street Hotel Company , and the well known liberality of the Israel Lodge . The menu left nothing to be desirtd by even the most exacting epicure , aud the personal

superintendence of Bro . Woods , the manager , ensured the sali . vfaetiou of tbe large company in every respect . After tho cloth bad been cleared , and grace had been said in Hebrew and English , tbe W . M . proposed the toast of tho Queon and the Craft , acknowledging an amount of responsibility in approaching his discharge of that duty at a time wbon so much sorrow surrounded Her Most Gracious

Majesty and her family , through tho untimely death of one who had been but recently a distinguished and highly respected chief in Craft Masonry , H . R . H . the Duke of Clarence and Avondale . The tokens of mourning in the Lodge itself , and those now worn by each individual brother , were hut feeble outward evidences of tho inward grief of all true Craftsmen , in which their syropithv with the lloval

House sought expression . The md event had filled the hearis of all clsspei of society with sorrow , and Dot leaHt among I horn , the members of the Israel Lodgs . The toast was duly honoured . Expressions of a similar nature accompanied the proposition of the toaats of the M . W . Grand Master , the Pro Grand Master , and the Deputy Graud Master and the Grand Officers Present and Past . Benevolent Fund , Bros . Terry and A . M . Cohen wero called upon to respond . Bro . Terry , spesking in reference to tho first portion of the combined toast , expressed his thanks for the vote passed in the earlier part of tho evening , and hoped that the generous offer of the Seoretary , Bro . Hogard , to represent tho Lodge at the Centenary Festival now forthcoming would stimulate' tho members to further individual efforts to secure him a list of

donations worthy of so important a Lodge as that he had now the pleasure to address . He was glad to think that there were prospects that additional annuities would likely follow a large amount of subscriptions to the Institution . Ho might bo pardoned if he incidentally mentioued that at the next election there are two widows of brethren of the Lodge sreking admission to the benefits

of the Institution , and that suoh fact thould havo consideration . With a highly complimentary reference to tbe admirable private Benevolent Fund of the Lodge , which quietly and unostentatiously performed deeds of charity of no mean importance , Bro . Terry concluded an excellent speech in the words of the preacher , " . Cast thy bread upon the waters , for tbon shalt find it after many davs . " Bro . Cohen

confined his remarks principally to tho last poition of the toast , and as President of the Lodge Benevolent Fund wave some interesting details . Whilst admitting the policy of recognising the old adage , " Charity begins at home , " in so far as it justified tho maintenance of their own particular relief fund , he was nevertheless pleased to observe that the generous gifts of the brethren to the sevoral

Masonic Chanties proved that it did not ' altogether stay there , and that whilst their own members or their widows requiring assistance have nt oil times been well relieved , there had never been any indisposition to contribute to the Charities outside their Lodge in fair proportion to other Ledges in the Craft . A hearty welcome was then accorded to the Visitor * , for whom Bros . L . L . Blomfield W . M .

Joppa Lodge , M . J . Jessop P . M . 1261 , and James Stevens P . M . 1216 1426 , & c , were called upon to reply . These brethren were unanimous in according to their host ? , na well for themselves as for the large body of guests , expressions of satisfaction with their reoeption throughout the evening , and paiticularly in regard to the excoptibnably able rendering of the installation ceremony by Bro . Dancyger .

In every respect a more agreeable Masonic evening had not come within their experience , and they could but hope for other opportunities of enjoying association with so excellent a Lodge . The remaining toasts were the Installing Master and the other Past Masters , the Treasurer and Secretary , the , other Officers of the Lodge , ar . d the Tyler ' s toast , but for these , in consequence of the

lateness of the hour , we were unable to stay . It was a heavy evening ' s business , and somewhat too long protracted , but nevertheless highly enjoyahle . There was a well arranged programme of music , under the direction of Bro . VV . Wright Prov . G . Org . Middlesex , anU speoial mention should be made of the talented assistance rendered by Mrs . Masonic Chanties proved that it did not ' altogether stay there , and that whilst their own members or their widows requiring assistance have nt oil times been well relieved , there had never been any indisposition to contribute to the Charities outside their Lodge in fair proportion to other Ledges in the Craft . A hearty welcome was then accorded to the Visitor * , for whom Bros . L . L . Blomfield W . M .

Joppa Lodge , M . J . Jessop P . M . 1261 , and James Stevens P . M . 1216 1426 , & c , were called upon to reply . These brethren were unanimous in according to their host ? , na well for themselves as for the large body of guests , expressions of satisfaction with their reoeption throughout the evening , and paiticularly in regard to the excoptibnably able rendering of the installation ceremony by Bro . Dancyger .

In every respect a more agreeable Masonic evening had not come within their experience , and they could but hope for other opportunities of enjoying association with so excellent a Lodge . The remaining toasts were the Installing Master and the other Past Masters , the Treasurer and Secretary , the , other Officers of the Lodge , ar . d the Tyler ' s toast , but for these , in consequence of the

lateness of the hour , we were unable to stay . It was a heavy evening ' s business , and somewhat too long protracted , but nevertheless highly enjoyahle . There was a well arranged programme of music , under the direction of Bro . VV . Wright Prov . G . Org . Middlesex , anU speoial mention should be made of the talented assistance rendered by Mrs . Littaur , Miss Frances Liitnur , Miss Emanuel ( recitations ) , Messrs . H . II . Heap aud Harcourt Thorpe , with Bro . I . Cohen .
