ELSEWHERE in our columns will be found an interesting report of the Installation Meeting of the Meridian Lodge , No . 743 , attached to the 31 st Begiment . Reference was made on that occasion , by Bro . R . F . Gould , to the List of Lodges on the Roll of the United No . in 1871 Description in 1871 No . in 1814

The dates of constitution in Bro . Hughan ' s list are only given in the case of tho " Moderns , " the dates therefore assigned to the " Ancient " Lodges have been kindly approximately fixed by him , in response to our request . It is a curious circumstance that up to the year 1813
though fifty English Military Lodges were in existence , with few exceptions these were working under "Ancient " warrants , the first Military Lodge in the above list constituted by the "Moderns" being St . George , in the East York Militia ,
A . D . 1782 . It will be seen that only six of the above Lodges are now in existence , also that all of these are working under Civil Warrants * The following are the Military Lodges now on the Roll : —
