Reports Of Meetings.

LEBANON LODGE , No . 1326 . THE members held their last meeting of the season on Saturday , 16 th inst ., at the Railway Hotel , Feltham , Bro . Bailey W . M . presiding . An excellent dinner was afterwards served by Mr . H . P . Harris , the host , and the manner in which this was put on , and the general arrangements , gave the greatest satisfaction .

There were several visitors from other Lodges present , and a most enjoyable evening was spent by all , with songs , recitations and instrumental music .

ARKWRIGHT LODGE , No . 1495 . THE annual installation took place oh Thursday , 14 th inst ., at the New Bath Hotel , Matlock Bath . There was a large gathering of Brethren from all parts of the country . The W . M .-elect was Bro . F . C . Lynn , and the I . P . M . Bro . Henry Knowles . After the ceremony the usual banquet was held .

u u u CARADOC LODGE , No . 1674 . THE festival of St . John was celebrated by the members at the Lodge Rooms , Market Street , Rhyl , on Monday , 18 th inst ., in the presence of a brilliant assembly of members and Visiting Brethren , when Bro . F . J . Gamlin was installed Worshipful Master ior the ensuing year . No less than six Provinces were represented at the function , besides as many as a dozen

Lodges , and the proceedings throughout evoked the keenest interest among local Craftsmen . Bro . Gamlin all through his career as a Mason has shown such zeal for the welfare of the Lodge , and discharged all his duties with so much efficiency , that his Brethren felt that they were only honouring one who deserved honour when they unanimously elected him to the honourable position of Master of his Lodge .

The ceremony of installation was efficiently and impressively performed by Bro . McEwen , a veteran and accomplished Craftsman . The newlyinstalled Worshipful Master then appointed his Officers . After the Lodge was closed the Brethren adjourned to the Westminster Hotel , where a capital banquet was prepared , following which the usual toasts were given .

Bro . J . Y . Strachan proposed the health of the Worshipful Master . In Bro . Gamlin they had a gentleman and a Brother who was quite competent to conduct the business of the Lodge in a truly Masonic way , and to fully maintain the traditions and dignity of the office he would so worthil y fill .

They had known him for many years as a painstaking Officer , and a diligent student of the Order . The position Bro . Gamlin now filled was an onerous one . He felt sure no one more fully recognized that than the W . M . He predicted a year of activity for the Lodge , and honour for their Worshi pful Master .

The Worshipful Master , on rising to respond , was received with hearty cheers . He thanked Bro . Strachan for the kind things said of him , and the Brethren for the reception given to the toast . He loved Masonry , and was deeply attached to the Caradoc Lodge . The members might depend upon him to do all in his power to further the interests of their Fraternity , and

nothing that was required of him would be wanting to make the Lodge a success . He desired to thank the Past Masters for the great assistance they had given him while qualifying for his present appointment . No one in the Lodge could help feeling proud of the way Bro . McEwen did his work . He was very much impressed with the whole ceremony , and the way it was performed reflected the highest possible credit upon Bro . McEwen .

The W . M . had the greatest pleasure in submitting the toast of the Installing Master and Past Masters . Tbey were loyal and true to the Caradoc , and deserved the best at their hands . He coupled with the toast the names of Bro . McEwen and Bro . Strachan .

Bro . McEwen said he was much obliged to the W . M . for the kind things said of him . It was a real satisfaction to him to do anything he could to promote the peace and harmony of the Lodge . What service he had rendered had given him much pleasure and delight . Bro . J . Y . Strachan thanked the Brethren for including his name in the toast , and assured them that though he had passed the chair he had no intention of being less attentive to his Masonic duties .

Bro . A . L . Clews proposed the health of the Visitors . He said it gave him much pleasure to submit this toast to tho approval of his Brethren , for he was quite sure no Lodge would give a heartier welcome than the members of the Caradoc . He coupled with the toast the name of Dr . Dunn , who came fresh from receiving Provincial honours at Southport , from Lord Lathom . He also included Bro . Hawson , a personal friend of his and a

Brother . He would also take that opportunity of congratulating the W . M . and S . W . upon the position they occupied that night . They were both initiated during his year of office , and he was pleased at the progress they had made in Masonry . He also included in the toast the name of Dr . Lloyd , whom all were pleased to see restored to health again , and Bro . Alfred Rhydwen Jones . The toast was received with full Masonic honours .

Bro . Coxhead proposed the toast of the Charities , and alluded to the beneficent work done by the various charitable Institutions supported exclusively by Masons . He coupled with the toast the name of Bro . Steer , who had always been a good friend of the Institutions . Bro . Steer replied , and thanked them for including his name in the toast . He would be tho Charity Representative for the Caradoc next June , at the Centenary of the Boys Institution , and he trusted a good sum would come from Rhyl .

VICTORIA LODGE , No . 2360 . ON Friday , 22 nd inst ., the installation of Bro . Dr . Stopford as W . M . took place nt the Masonic Buildings , Eastbank Street , Southport , in the presence of a large number of members and visiting Brethren . The ceremony was impressively conducted by Bro . J . Franklin Hindle W . M ., assisted by Bro . J . F . Roberts P . Piov . G . A . D . C .

The retiring W . M . presented to the Lodge a handsome Master ' s chain , in silver , commemorating his term of office during the Queen ' s Diamond Jubilee year . Subsequently the new W . M . entertained a large company to a banquet in the Town Hall .

ANDERIDA LODGE , No . 2434 . AT a largely-attended meeting at the Queen ' s Hotel , Eastbourne , on Wednesday , 20 th inst ., Bio . J . H . Haine was installed W . M ., and appointed his Officers for the year . The usual banquet was subsequently held

DUKE OF YORK LODGE , No . 2449 . FOLLOWING a very excellent tea , provided by the new management , the regular meeting of this Lodge was held at the Palatine Hotel , Hunt's

Bank , Manchester , on Thursday , the 14 th inst ., Bro . Clement J . Hall W . M . The principal business of the evening was that of balloting for Bro . George Bingham P . M . Zetland Lodge , No . 852 , who was desirous of becoming a Joining Member . The ballot was successful .

On the proposition of Bro . William Boden P . M . Charity Representative , a sum of JE 10 was granted from the Charity Funds of the Lodge to the East Lancashire Systematic Masonic Educational and Benevolent Institution . ' At the festive board , the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were proposed and honoured , these being varied by recitations , songs , & c , given by the

W . M ., Bros . T . H . Stott Secretary , S . Kew I . G ., A . Sutclifie Std ., W . Boden P . M ., and others . The health of the W . M . was proposed by Bro . T . T . Hardicker P . M . Prov . G . Swd . Br ., and Bro . Hall , in reply , referred at great length to the various Masonic charities , giving some interesting particulars about the

same . A pleasant evening was spent , the proceedings terminating at a late hour .

THE annual festival was held at the Masonic Temple , Cardiff , on Tuesday , 19 th inst ., when a large number of members and visitors assembled to witness the installation of Bro . William Best Ferrier P . M . P . P . G . Reg . The retiring W . M . Bro . James Radley P . M . P . P . G . D . C gracefully performed the ceremony , after which the new W . M . invested his Officers .

During the proceedings the retiring W . M . was presented by his initiates with a handsome silver tea and coffee service .

BORDER LODGE , No . 2475 . THERE was a large and representative gathering at the White Hart Hotel , Blackwater , on Tuesday , 12 th inst ., when Bro . Thos . Martin

S . W . was installed by Bro . Major H . Manders . A sumptuous banquet was provided by Host Ellis , after which the chairman submitted the principal toasts , which were duly honoured and acknowledged .

COLNE LODGE , No . 2477 . THE anniversary meeting was held at the old Board Schools , Wivenhoe , on Tuesday , 12 th inst . There was a large attendance of members and visitors . The installation ceremony was performed by Bro . W . H . Ham W . M .,

and subsequently the new Master Bro . Henry Harlow appointed and invested the Officers . After the installation , the Secretary Bro . J . T . Bailey was presented with a handsome case of cutlery . The presentation was made by Bro . Claude E . Egerton Green , and the oak case was inscribed :

Presented to W . BBO . J . T . BAIMY , on the occasion of his marriage , by the Brethren of Colne Lodge , No . 2477 , as a mark of their respect and esteem . October 1897 .

ST . MICHAEL LODGE , No . 2487 . THE annual festival of St . John in connection with this Lodge was held on Monday , 11 th inst ., at the Town Hall , Stone . The ceremony of installation was most impressively performed by Bro . Major Harding W . M ., assisted by Bros . Brandon P . P . G . R . and Bromle Prov . G . S . W .. Bro . F . J . Pyatt being regularly placed in the chair .

The banquet took place at the Crown Hotel , Bro . Pyatt W . M . presiding over about fifty guests . The usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were honoured . o o o STAINES LODGE , No . 2536 . THE annual meeting was held on Tuesday , 19 th inst ., at the Town Hall Staines . '

Bro . R . Fox Warner was installed as W . M . for the ensuing year in the presence of a large assembly of Brethren . ' Subsequently , they adjourned to the Pack Horse Hotel for the dinner served by Host E . H . Blarney . During the proceedings Bro . Fox Warner was heartily congratulated on his appointment .

WEST ESSEX LODGE , No . 2561 . THE installation meeting was held at the Masonic Hall , Buckhurst Hill , on Tuesday , 5 th inst ., when Bro . Robert Woodhouse S . W . was ably installed as W . M . for the ensuing year by Bro . Colonel Lockwood M P P . G . D . England P . P . S . G . W . Essex . The Officers for the year were appointed .

A Past Master ' s jewel was presented to Colonel Lockwood by the new W . M ., and Bro . the Rev . Thomas Lloyd i' . jl ., & o . was re-elected to represent the Lodge on the Essex Provincial Charity Committee . The Visitors present were Bros . T . J . Railing P . A . G . D . C . Prov . G . Secretary , A . Lucking PGP Prov . G . D . C , and G . J . Smith W . M . 2504 .

LEWISHAM LODGE , No . 2579 . THE Installation of Bro . John Coote as the third W . M . of this flourishing Lodge took place on Saturday , 9 th inst ., at the Holborn Restaurant , in the presence of a large gathering of brethren , there being about 80 present .

The ceremony was most impressively performed by the outgoing Master Bro . Chas . Lamb , the charges , especially , being delivered eloquently , says the " Kentish Mercury . " The I . P . M . received at the hands of the W . M . a handsome Past Master ' s
