Brockbank , who had previously given in his name , all consented to act as Stewards on tho occasion . A circular from Prov . Grand Secretary was thou

read and considered . Bro . Dr . Hall was proposed as a joining member , and a gentleman was also proposed for initiation at the next meeting . Hearty good wishes were given by the Visiting Brethren , and the Lodge was closed at 8 . 30 . At this meetinsr , which was the first , from the establishment of the Lodge , from which formal invitations had been issued to the Past Prov . Officers and others , the muster was

unusualy large , and the appearance of the Lodgo Room very brilliant . Thirteen of the members sat under thoir own banners , and tho Lodgo banner of the Mother , 221 , together with that of St . George , were suspended from the walls . The Officers were punctual , the ceremonies were given with great care and accuracy , and at the close of the proceedings the W . M .

was highly complimented by the Visitors for the treat which had beon afforded them . Three old P . M . 's and tho W . M . of the Mother Lodge respectively performed the ceremonies of initiation . Tho working tools of the degree wero explained by the W . M . in a hi ghly effective manner , and the founder of the Lodge delivered the charge to the initiates . The Master of Ceremonies , Bro . J . W . Taylor , and the Organist , Bro . Staton , with Bros . Collins and Garstang , enhanced tho pro-

ceedings by their rendering of the musical programme , and altogether the evening ' s proceedings in tho Lodgo were of a most enjoy , ible character . Dinner succeeded , after which the usual Loynl and Masonic toasts were proposed and responded to . Bros . Skolton , Holt , Nicholson , Collins , Pennington , Spead , and others , contributed materially to the pleasures of the evsning , the proco ^ edintts of which were conducted under the able management of the Master of Ceremonies , Bro . J . W . Taylor .
