REPORTS OF MEETINGS .

We shall be pleased to receive particulars of Masonic meetings for insertion in our columns , and where desired will endeavour to send a representative to report Lodge or other proceedings . — : o : — CRAFT : METROPOLITAN .

KENSINGTON LODGE , No . 1767 . A NUMEROUSLY attended meeting was held on Saturday , 16 th inst ., at tho Eoyal Palace Hotel , Kensington , Bro . J . N . Neville W . M . Tho raising of Bro . Green was satisfactorily performed , as was also the

passing of Bro . Smith , says the " Kensington News . " The Auditors' report was received and adopted , and after a lengthy discussion it was decided to make no alteration in respect to the Lodge subscription .

The Brethren adjourned to dinner , after which the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were honoured—that of the Officers being particularly well received , while the Visitors came in for a hearty reception , Bro . A . Williams being very happy in his response .

Bro . P . M . Norman gave a very interesting description of his Masonic experience on the Continent on the occasion of a recent visit ; and with songs and recitations by scvoral of the Brethren a very pleasant evening was brought to a close .

DUKE OF FIFE LODGE , No . 2345 . THE usual meeting was held on Wednesday , 20 th inst ., when there were present Bros . John Langdon W . M ., S . Cochrane P . M . P . G . Treasurer , A . Harvey I . P . M ., Charlie Woods S . W ., Fitch as J . W ., Robert Steele P . M . Treasurer , J . W . Folkard P . M . Secretary , T . Morris S . D ., A . Robertson J . D ., W . W . Westley P . M . D . C ., G . F . Winny I . G ., Machin P . M ., Frank Roberts , Hearsey , and Wilfred Stracey .

Apologies for absence were received from Bro . William Baldwin and others . The Visitors included Bros . W . G . Boswell W . M . 2417 , J . Norden 879 , Stracey 360 , Fountain 72 , Alick Money 1453 , and R . B . Gilson 507 .

All Masonic business having been transacted , the Brethren spent a happy evening around the festive board . Songs given by Bro . Wilfred Stracey were exceedingly popular , as usual . Other vocal and instrumental performers included Bros . Machin P . M ., Money , Roberts , and G . F . Winny .

HAMPSTEAD LODGE , No . 2408 . ON Tuesday , 19 th inst ., this Lodge held a meeting at the Vestry Hall , Hampstead . There was a considerable muster of Brethren , including several distinguished Visitors . In the unavoidable absence of Bro . Nicholas West W . M ., the chair was ably filled by Brother N . Hanhart P . M . The Brethren dined together , and , after the usual Loyal toasts , the remainder of a most successful and enjoyable evening was devoted to harmony .

INSTRUCTION .

ST . JOHN'S LODGE , No . 167 . THE fourth anniversary of this Lodge of Instruction was celebrated at the Court House , Harlesden , on Thursday , the 14 th inst ., when about sixty Brethren were present . Previous to the banquet tho Lodge met , when Bro . Hillier P . M . 1360 and 2090 , tho able Preceptor , worked the ceremony of installation and duly placed Bro . Stephen Hussey W . M . 1637 into the chair .

The banquet was served in the large Court Room . Success to the St . John's Lodge of Instruction was proposed by Bro . F . S . Priest , and responded to by Bro . Preceptor Hillier P . M . The Secretaries , Bro . W . Roche Plaford , of 73 Sutherland Avenue , W ., or Bro . W . C . Tebbot , of 15 High Street , Harlesden , will be pleased to give any information to Brethren wishing to join .

UPTON LODGE , No . 1227 . AT the Great Eastern Hotel , on Monday , 25 th inst ., Bros . Carroll W . M ., Thomson S . W ., Hyde J . W ., Smith P . M . Preceptor , Free P . M . Treas ., Peters Secretary , Joffery S . D ., Miles J . D ., Cohn I . G ., Cohen , Stemner , Ling ,

Wood , Rowberry , Gottlieb , Norman , and others . The Lodge was opened to the 2 nd degree , Bro . Norman offered his services and answered the questions . The ceremony of raising was rehearsed . The Lodge was further advanced and then closed down .

The W . M . vacated the chair for Bro . Peters Sec , who worked the ceremony of Initiation . The W . M . resumed the Chair , and the first Section of the Lecture was worked , with the assistance of the Brethren and Bro . Smith P . M . Bro . Thomson was chosen W . M . for next meeting , and Bro . Gurry was elected a Member .

\ J V V DUKE OF CONNAUGHT LODGE , No . 1524 . THE usual weekly meeting was held at the Lord Napier , West Side , London Fields , on Saturday . There was a numerous attendance , thirty-two Brethren being present : Bro . J . Hands W . M ., H . E . Swift S . W ., F . Islip J . W ., H . Sexton S . D ., M . Friedlander J . D ., J . B . Frost I . , , Kebbell Sec , P . Felthensal Org ., also Bros . Caton , Ives , Gray P . Ms ., and Bros . Kotch , Meyer , Zender , Smith , Price , Mansell , Pearse , Matthews , Capt . Schlosshauer , Bestow , Eienbaas , Crisp , Johnstone , Gough , Punter , Harding , F . Small , Worthington , and Rusby . Tho ceremonies of initiation , passing , and raising were rehearsed , Bros .

Instruction.

Pearse , Johnstone aud Rusby being the candidates ; Bro . Hands ' s rendering of the ritual was most efficient . The best thanks of tho Lodge were tended to Brother Frost for his handsome presentation of Wands and Gavel . Bro . Frost suitably responded . It was decided to have the third Annual Supper of this Lodge early in January .

CITADEL LODGE , No . 1897 . ON Friday , 22 nd inst ., at the Farleigh Hotel , Amhurst Road , N ., Bro . H . J . Galley W . M ., Mason S . W ., Emery J . W ., Rusby S . D ., Ditchman J . D ., Feistel I . G ., F . Dunstan P . M . A . G . D . C . Middx . Preceptor , Harry Willsmer Secrotary , and Matthews , Worthington , Johnson , Witte , G . Clark P . M ., O . J . Von Holtorp P . M . P . P . G . D . C . Middx ., and Wright .

After preliminaries Bro . Calley vacated the chair in favour of Bro . A . Rusby , who rehearsed the ceremony of initiation , Bro . Worthington candidate . The W . M . gavo the Charge in a very praiseworthy manner . Assisted by Bros . Preceptor and Witte , the first section of the lecture was worked .

Tho report of tho Audit Committee , Bros . Calley , Witte , and Mason , was received and adopted . The Secretary made his statement of the condition of tho Lodge generally , adding that the average attendance of the thirtyeight meetings that had been held since the formation of the Lodge in 1894 had been seventeen . The Association in connection with tho Lodge of Instruction now numbered eighty members .

A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Bro . F . Dunstan Preceptor for his kind assistance during the year , he and the Secretary having made thirty-six and thirty-five attendances respectively . Bro . O . J . Von Holtorp P . M . of the Mother Lodge presented a set of Craft Aprons , including a Provincial Grand Officer ' s Apron for the Preceptor . The Lodge is now fully equipped . Bro . Harry Willsmer Secretary was unanimously elected to the chair at tho next meeting , when there will also be a meeting of the Charities Association .

PROVINCIAL .

WILTSHIRE LODGE OF FIDELITY , No . 663 . A T the regular meeting of this Lodge , held on the 21 st inst ., and whioh XIL . was largely attended , Bro . F . Reynolds W . M . presented , on behalf of the Brethren , to Bro . Randell P . M . a handsome bracket clock in oak , suitably inscribed , on his golden wedding .

The W . M . spoke feelingly of the services rendered by Bro . Randell to Masonry and in other directions , and congratulated him and Mrs . Randell most heartily . These expressions were endorsed by several of the Past Masters present , and Bro . Randell ( who was visibly affected ) thanked the Brethren in suitable terms .

The clock , which was supplied by Bro . H . J . Johnson P . M ., bore the following inscription : —

Presented to BRO . J . A . EANDBLL P . M . P . P . G . Sw . B ., on his golden wedding , 11 th November 1895 , with the fraternal regards of the Wiltshire Lodge of Fidelity , 663 .

LODGE OF PHILANTHROPY , No . 940 . ON Thursday , 21 sfc inst ., an official visit by the Officers of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Durham was paid to the Lodge , which met at the Masonic Hall , Stockton , Bro . W . Hodgson W . M . presiding .

rf 1 HE annual meeting was held on Wednesday afternoon , 20 th inst ., at the _ L Masonic Temple , St . Peter ' s Street , Canterbury , when Bro . F . T . Puttick was installed as W . M . for the ensuing year . There was a very large attendance of Visitors and Brethren of the Lodge present to witness the ceremony , which was performed by Bro . T . Easton P . M . P . P . G . D . C .

ST . AUGUSTINE LODGE , No . 972

At the conclusion of the ceremony the Brethren adjourned to the Royal Fountain Hotel for the banquet , which was served in his usual excellent manner by the proprietor , Bro . H . Ward . After ample justice had been done to tbe good things provided , the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were honoured , while the evening's enjoyment was greatly enhanced by the excellent singing of Bros . Dowhurst , Halward , and Pearson , under the direction of Bro . Byron Dewhurst .

TYRIAN LODGE , No . 1110 . THE installation took place on Monday , 25 th , at tho Gildredge Hotel , Eastbourne , Bro . F . Bolton being re-installed as W . M ., and investing his Officers .

LEWISES LODGE , No . 1209 . A BANQUET and Lodge of Instruction in connection with the Lewises Lodge was held at the Castle Hotel , Ramsgate , on thel 8 tb , it having been postponed from the commencement of the session on account of Bro . Neale ' s illness . A sumptuous repast was provided by Host Neale , to which twenty-six sat down . The chair was occupied by the W . M . Bro . Baldwin , and the vice-chair by Bro . Goodbourn P . M . of the Royal Navy Lodge .

The usual patriotic and Masonic toasts were proposed and honoured , after which the Lewises Lodge Charitable Institution was startod . Bro . C . H . Tamplin , in proposing the Masonic Charities , gave a short account of the charities , and instanced how at Margate by the formation of

such an Association about £ L 00 had been paid into it within about twelve months . This new Association is open for both Masons and non-Masons , but only Masons are recognised on the Committee , but anyone subscribing 6 d . weekly will in time get a life Subscribership to one of the Masonic Institutions .
