THE Quarterly Communication will be held on Wednesday next , 4 th December , at Freemasons' Flail , Great Queen Street , London , at 5 for 6 p . m . The following is the agenda of business :
1 . The Minutes of the Quarterly Communication of the 4 th September , for confirmation . 2 . Communication from the Most Worshipful Grand Master in reply to vote of condolence . 3 . Announcement from the chair that the Most Worshipful Grand Master has been pleased to acquiesce in the desire expressed
by several Provincial and District Grand Masters , that the occasion of His Royal Highness ' s installation as Most Worshipful Grand Master should be commemorated by the bestowal of Past Provincial and District Grand Rank on a limited number of Brethren within the several Provinces and Districts , and that in the exercise of the power recently given the Grand Master by Rule 87 , Book of Constitutions , His Royal Highness has been pleased to empower
Provincial and District Grand Masters to confer the rank of Past Provincial or District Grand Officers in the following proportions : — One appointment for every twelve Lodges in a Province or District where the Lodges do not exceed thirty in number , with one additional if the broken number exceeds six ; and one appointment for every eight Lodges in Provinces and Districts where the number of Lodges is more than thirty , with one additional if the broken number exceeds four .

10 . REPORT OF THE BOARD OF GENERAL PURPOSES . To the United Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of England . The Board begs to report that it has submitted to a very eminent firm of Estate Agents and Valuers a case for their opinion and advice in reference to the letting of Freemasons' Tavern , the lease of which to Spiers and Pond , Limited , will expire September 1905 .
The Board has further to report tha \ t in view of the fact that Grand Lodge would not meet until the 4 th December , it some time since passed a resolution authorising the transmission to all the Grand Lodges in the United States of America of copies of the following resolution agreed to by the Board on the 15 th October last : — -
"That this Board of General Purposes of Free and Accepted Masons of England , tenders , through the several Grand Lodges of the United States of America , the profound sympathy of English Freemasons with their American Brethren , in the loss sustained through the untimely
death of the highly esteemed and much beloved President of the United States , His Excellency Brother Wm . McKinley . The Board further desires to place on record the horror and detestation with which every Freemason regards the crime of the assassin and the teachings which prompted it . "
The Board has recently been called upon to adjudicate in regard to the installation as W . Master of Brethren whose service in the Wardens' chairs had hot been of sufficient duration to qualify them for election . In connection with such cases the Board has passed the following resolutions : —
1 st . That in , the opinion of the Board , the service of Warden under Rule 130 must be in regard of one of the Wardens' chairs , either Senior or Junior , for one complete year , from the period of investment .

2 nd . That the Officers appointed by a Worshipful Master remain the Officers until the next installation of a Worshipful Master in the Lodge .
