OVER 100 Masons attended , on the 27 th inst ., the mst'tllingof Bro . James Wildboro the Worshipfnl Master of the Humber Lod ge for the ensuing twelve months . Tha in-rfcalling Officer wan Bro . Geo . Wilson P . M . P . P . G . S ., au old and highly esteemed member of the number . The new Master waa salufc id with appropriate honour *** , and had due homoge rendered him by his colleagues * . He then
oppointed the Offioert . Next came a graceful expression of esteem and good fellowshi p from the brethren to tho Past Mapt-sr ( Brr > . Bradley ) , who ha > governed the Lodge so well during hi » year of office . Bro . T . Unit made the preset . tution to l-itn , the token taking the form of a vet y handsome Past Master's jewel . It needed uo words from the Brother
who presented the jewel to prove tho probity and the excellency of the retiring W . M ., but what he aaid he said well , and it was highly appreciated , not only' by bis colleagues , but by Bro . Bradley , who acknowledged the compHtm-nt as well as he possibly could nnder the strong feeling of emotion whiuh swayed him . All things come to an end , however , and » ftt > r the Lodge had been
closed , an adjournment was made to the large banqueiting hall of the Humber , where Br \ Richardson , the Steward and his assistants were in attendance with a banquet , to which all did justice . Grand Treasurer , made his first speech iu Hull in that capacity , and alluded in feeling terms to the loss Masonry had sustained by fche death of his predecessor . The W . Bro . P . M . Biadley , and responded toby Bro . Wildbore , who followed on by proposing the retiring Pact Master and his Officer ? , which Bro . Bradley replied to . Bro . M . 0 . Peck next gave the founders of tho Humber Lodge , which was drunk in solemn silence , the organist playing tie " Deud March" in "Saul . "

M . of the Lodge , proposed that tha gifts be accepted , and that the best thanks of the Lodge be given to Bro . Lemon for his generosity . Tbe resolution having been nnanimoiisly carried , Bro . Lemon suitably responded .
On the motion of Bro . G . R . Stenlake , seconded by Bro . J . B . Gover Secretary P . P . G . Secretary , Bro . William Willcughby , Ma * . Bac . Oxon ., P . C . O ., was unanimously elected an honorary member of fche Lodge in recognition of hh valuable services to Masonio charities . The brethren then adjourned to the dining hall of the club , where
they partook of the annual banquet , whioh was well served under the direction of Bro . S . Harvey . The W . M . presided , and about 100 sat down . The loyal toasts having been honoured , the W . M . proposed , in eu ' o- ^ istio terms , the health of Viscount Ebrington , P . G . M ., and fche Present and Past Officers of the P . G . Lodge of Devon .

Lemon , in response , said that Lord Ebrington had reigned over them for so many years that he was revered and respected by the brethren , and he alao believed that by the way in whioh the P . G . Officers had carried oufc their respective duties they had justified their respective appointments . Bro . J . R . Lord P . M . 1247 submitted tho toast of the Eirl of
Mount Edgcumbe P . G . M " ., and the Present and Past Officers ofthe P . G . lodge of Cornwall . He said that no body of Masons honoured tho Earl of Mount Edgcumbe more than the Devonshire brethren , who hid PS great an affection for him as for their own Master .. They nt-tonly appreciated him aa a Mason , bnfc as noble a English gentleman and a neighbour .

installed his successor that day . In presenting him with a hand . S ( ma P . M . ' s gold jewel from the brethren , he trusted that he would h ivo a long and happy life , so as to be able to continne an ornament to the Lodge . P . M . P . P . G . A . D . C , and the Secretary Bro . J . B . Gover P . P . G . Secretary . Their Treasurer wan a good man , a good Mason , and had bnr-n a moist invaluable Treasurer of the Lodge . He asked them to express their sympathy with Bro . Pengelly in his indisposition , and to express a hope that he would be speedily restored to health . He had been associated with Bro . Gover for about 35 yeara in connection
with Lodge 70—and the brethren were hardly aware of . Bro . Gover'a good qualities , for no man had done more for Masonry than he had done . Bro . Gover waa a little brusque at times , but he was good at heart ; and always willingly and cheerfully responded to fche appeal of the widow and poor and distressed brethren . Bro . Gover , in acknowledgment , said when he was W . M . of Lodge
70 , and Bro . Du Pro was his S . W ., they only had nine members , whilst now tbey had abont 129 . From Lodge St . John three other Lodges had at least been formed , viz ., Nos . 1240 , 1212 , and theLodge at Kingsbridge . He heartily congratulated Bro . Goad on being W . M . of suoh an influential Lodge , and having suoh an efficient set of Officers .
