YARBOROUGH LODGE , No . 033 . THE annual meeting and festival of St . John took place at fche Wheatsheaf Hotel , High Streot , Manchester , on Thursday , 7 th inst ., Bro . D . Gnytner W . M . After the minutes of the previous meeting had been read and confirmed , Mr . Jamea Askew Waite was balloted for and duly initiated

into ancient Freemasonry . Following this waa the installation of Bro . A . 0 . Wilson aa W . M ., the ceremony being performed by Bro . Qnymer , who was assisted by several Pasfc Masters . The festival of St . John was subsequently held in the large dining room of the hotel , and was well attended , tbo host , Bro . Tom Wood being seen at his beat on tha occasion .

BLAGDON LODGE , No . 659 . THE annnal meeting of the members was held on Thursday , 21 st inst ., in the Mechanics' Hall , Blytb . Thero waa a large attend , ance , including several visitors from Tyneside . Bro . W . Robson W . M . presided . After the transaction of the ordinary business of the Lodge , Bro . L . Carr J . W . was installed into the ohair of K . S . by Bro . Robion W . M ., the ceremony being most impressively given . Tbe

newly . installed W . M . then invested the Officers . At the oloae of fche business Bro . John Tweedy P . M . presented Bro . 'Robson I . P . M . with a splendid Past Master's jewel , and in doing so paid a very high compliment to Bro . Robson for fche efficient manner in whioh he had discharged his dutiea during the past year . The jewel bore tbe following inscription : —

" Presented to BBO . W . ROBSON by the Officers and Membera of tbe Blagdon Lodge as a mark of respect and esteem . " The brethren afterwards adjourned fco the Star and Garter , where the annual festival was held .

FRIENDSHIP LODGE , No . 750 . BBO . Charles H . Briggs was installed Worshipful Master at the Freemasons' Hall , Whitcliffe , Oleokheaton , on the 27 th inst . The ceremony was performed by Bro . Burdett Road , under fche presidency of Bro . W . E . Turriff W . M . supported by Past Masters Bros . F . It . H . Gooch I . P . M ., F . Robinson , A . H . Shepherd , 'R . C . Pasfield , and J . H . Pringle . Bros . Carr , Salter , and Jacobs were raised , and Messrs . J . H . Cook and W .

Shuttleworth initiated . The brethren then voted Christmas gifts to the usual recipients , and other Masonic business was transacted , Bro . Pringle P . M . Preceptor of the Merchant Navy Lodge of Instruc tion , announced that the Fifteen Sections would be worked at tha Silver Tavern , on Wednesday , tho 3 rd January 189 * 1 , whon Bro . C . L . Nelson

would take the chair , with Bro . J . Lancett as S . W ., and Brother G . Seage as J . W . He -mid it gave him great pleasure to say it was the firsfc time in hia life that he had known a young Freemason of two

years' standing tako such a position . Bro . Nelson reflected credit on his Lodge of Instruction as well as on his Mother Lodge . After refreshment , tho nsual toasts were honoured , and in the intervals various brethren contributed to the harmony .

After an excellent banquet , supplied by the Steward , Bro . Harveyi the usual toasts were proposed and replied to . Bro . Fry , in eulogistic terms , proposed the health of the popular W . given and responded to with requisite honours . Towards the close , and at the call of the Worshipful Master , Bro . Wright Wood I . P . M ., proposed a special toast , viz : —the health of Bro . J . Meroer Jonea P . M ., who he stated by his devotion to tho principles of Freemasonry combined with energy and perseverance , placed himself in the very front ranks of those brethren who had mastered the details of tbe

ritual connected with the Craft . He also referred to the great interest which Bro . Jones had taken in the instruction of junior Officers and members of the Lodge , and he desired the subject of bis remarks to be up-standing while ho presented to him some tangible proof of tho respect with which the brethren regarded him . In very felicitous terms ( of which Bro , Wood is exceptionably capable } , ho

assured him of the high esteem in whioh bo waa hold , not only by the members of the Waverloy Lodge , but by those of other Lodges in tho neighbourhood , and he now presented him with a handsome Past ; Master ' s jewel , the same having been subscribed for by tho members of the Lodge , as a token of tbe esteem in which he was held for many good qualities displayed as a worker , as a Mason , and as a
