Carl Braun , was a success in evory way , and fully deserved the praise which more than one Brother bestowed upon it . Loyal and Masonic toasts were drunk , and as the proceedings began early and were continued until the matin , the consequence was a long and delightfully pleasant evening . Innumerable

Coburn , who is a prince of entertainers , and who seomod never to weary , was at this time fulfilling a professional engagement at one of the places of entertainment in Manchester . He is , wo believe , the author of the song , " The man who broke the bank at Monte Carlo , " the words of
which he rendered in several languages . He gavo in addition , a wonderful sketch which took the form of a dream , and made a very humorous reference to tho Christmas pantomime produced at the Theatre Royal by Bro . Ramsay , which had come to a close only a few days previously .

W . W . Riley 1052 . After the confirmation of minutes , Bros . Edwd . W . Barratt and William Herbert Ashworth were passed to the second Degree , both ceremonies being performed by the W . M ., who was assisted by Bro . Littler , the latter presenting and explaining the working tools .
At the festive board which followed , the health of the newlypassed Brethren was proposed by the Worshipful Master , to which Brothers Barratt and Ashworth responded in felicitous terms . Bro . Lloyd proposed the health of the Visitor , extending towards him a very cordial welcome ; and Bro . Littler performed a like
duty as regarded the W . M ., taking the opportunity of commending him for the admirable manner in which he had performed the ceremonies . " On a former occasion , " said the speaker , " the W . M . had surprised them by his way of performing the ceremony of initiation , and now he had actually delighted them by his work of that evening . " The W . M . responded .
Bro . Lloyd proposed the health of Bro . Gerald Biron , who was about to leave the district for a permanent stay in London " Bro . Biron , " he said , " had been actively connected with the construction of that great and glorious undertaking known as the Manchester Ship Canal , and now that his labours were ended , he
was returning to the metropolis , which was his home . As evidencing the interest which the subject of his toast took in Masonic matters , he would just mention that Bro . Biron intended , in the capacity of a Steward , to represent them at the next Festival in connection with the Girls School , to be held in London . " The toast was drunk very enthusiastically .
Bro . Biron in response said that he was greatly taken aback by the enthusiasm with which the toast of his health had been drunk , and at the signal honour which had been paid to him . When he left them , he should look back with some degree of pleasure upon
the jovial times which he had spent in their company , and if duty or pleasure ever again brought him in the neighbourhood of Urmston , he should gladly pay a visit to the Lodge . He promised never to forget them , and hoped that ere long he should see some of them in London .

P . P . A . D . C . Before the Lodge closed a hearty vote of thanks was proposed to the Installing Master , and in responding to this Bro . Walton proposed that the sum of ten guineas be voted to the Royal Masonic Institution for Bojs , which was carried unanimously , the amount to be placed to the credit of the list of Bro . S . bo attending the Festival in June as a Steward . Bro . Dacombe heartily acknowledged the liberality of the Lodge . Earlier in the proceedings Bro . Walton presented to tho Lodge a handsome set of working tools , enclosed in an oaken box , suitably inscribed , for which cordial thanks wore voted him .
The installation banquet was afterwards held , under tho presidency of the W . M ., an excellent repast being served under the superintendence of the D . C . The usual festivo board followed , when Loyal and Masonic toasts were honoured . That of the newly raised Brother was proposed by Bro . Board , to which Bro . Goldman responded .

as Worshipful Master . Tho ceremony was performed by Bro . A . Goddard P . P . G . W ., and a good muster of Brethren attended , including Bro . Hamon le Strange Deputy Provincial Grand Master .

CYCLIST LODGE , No . 2246 , THE RE was a large gathering at the Castle Hotel , EastMolesey , on Saturday , 10 th inst ., when a presentation was made to Bro . Herbert Bangs on his vacating the position of Worshipful Master . The presentation , which took place after the banquet
consisted of a Past Master s jewel , which was presented by the new Master , Bro . H . Gardner , who , on behalf of the Lodge , expressed appreciation of Bro . Bangs's services , and the hope that he might long be spared to continue his valuable work on behalf of
Freemasonry . Bro . Bangs , in the course of a neat reply , thanked the Lod » e for this mark of their high appreciation , and for their kindly expressions
towards himselt . tie always desired to further tho interests of Freemasonry , and his work in connection with the Cyclist Lodge had been a labour of lovo . Ho hoped that his connection with the Lodge would continue for very many years .

B ., and John J . Green G . J . D ., empowering them to confer the several degrees of this Order in different towns in Lancashire and Cheshire , the first meeting was held at the Bridge Inn , Elton , Bury , on Tuesday , the 20 th inst .,
when Bros . J . R . Ragdale , H . T . Grundy , Joseph Mellor , J . W . Kerryon , T . W . Markland , Samuel Porritt , Vincent Brown , W . E . Hall , and Ed . Roberts ( FREEMASON ' S CHRONICLE ) , wore admitted to the several degrees . In conferring the degree of Grand Tyler of King Solomon , Bro . T . W . Markland was the selected candidate as
being the first belonging to the Province of Cheshire to take this degree . The several ceremonies were impressively rendered by the W . M . Bro . John Marshall , ably assisted by Bros . W . T . Barlow S . W ., Thos . Mellor J . W ., Joseph Olive I . G ., and Herbert Helliwell , Deacon .
The Brethren afterwards partook of supper , the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts being honoured . The health of the W . M ., Bro . Marshall , was proposed by Bro . Ken } on , who spoke in eulogistic terms of the valuable aid Bro . Marshall was rendering to them as W . M . of the Alfred Mark Lodge and W . C . N , in the Ark Mariner ' s at that place , and now he had favoured them in the Allied Degrees
, with which they were so highly pleased ; ho hoped he might long be spared to continue his services amongst them . Bro . Marshall replied in suitable terms , especially acknowledging the genial kindness and warm heartedness of the Masonic Brethren he met with in those rooms .
