D ., as Worshipful Master for the ensning year . The ceremony was performed by the I . P . M . Bro . F . Powell P . P . G . A . D . C . in a most able manner . The Worshipful Master having invested his Officera for the ensuing year ,

presented , in a few well-chosen words , a Past Master's jewel to the I . P . M ., as a mark of the cordial respect and esteem in which he is held by the brethreu of the Lodge . Amongst tbe distinguished

brethren present was the D . P . G . M . for Hants and Isle of Wight ( Bro . Loveland Loveland ) , who expressed his entire satisfaction with the able manner in which the working of this Lodge bad been carried out since its formation three years ago .

A new issue of " The Child's Life of Christ " is to be published in " The Magazine of Art . " It consists of the story of Our Lord ' s Life , written in easy language , and illustrated by original engravings , representing actual scenes in the East . One of the most striking chapters in " King Solomon ' s Mines , "

( the new treasure story which is attracting so much attention ) is that in which the terrors of the " witch hunt" are described , and the author states that its horrors are nowise exaggerated , but that , on the contrary , ranch of its barbarity is suppressed , as some of the actual proceedings among people of the Zulu race on such occasions are two awful to set forth .

The Rev . R . Maguire , Lady Laura Hampton , the Rev . W . M . Stabham , the Hon . Katharine Scott , the Rev . H . R . Lovell , the Rev . W . Burnet , and fche Rev . Gordon Calthrop are among tbe contributors to the first part of the new volume of the Quiver , just published . Two new serial stories will be commenced , and the part will

contain several short complete stories by popular authors . The Annnal of " The Little One ' s-Owu Coloured Picture Paper " will this year be published as " Tho Little One ' s-Own Keepsake , " and will contain 300 original tales in prose and verse by the editor and 40 other writers , and 400 pictures in chromo colours by R . Andre , C . S . Flint , Miss E . F . Manning , and 30 other eminent artists .

"Crumbs for the Robins" will be the title of the Christmas Part of " The Little-One ' s-Own Coloured Picture Paper , " and will contain in addition to the usual quantity of chromo pictures and text , 16 extra pages of illustrated tales by R . Andre , Irving Montague , & c . The cover will also be printed in colours .

"Crumbs for the Robins" will be the title of the Christmas Part of " The Little-One ' s-Own Coloured Picture Paper , " and will contain in addition to the usual quantity of chromo pictures and text , 16 extra pages of illustrated tales by R . Andre , Irving Montague , & c . The cover will also be printed in colours .
