If either of those distinguished brethren had come they should have felt it e > great distinction , but they were particularly fortunate in having
both with them that day , and their presence wonld make tho day a memorable one , even in the annals of an old Lodge like the Angel . Lord Brooke thanked the brethren for their kind greeting , fie had been particularly pleased to be able to come to the meeting , and was most gratified at tbe admirable way in whioh the ceremony had been conducted . He always had a grateful recollection of tbe way in
whioh his own installation waa arranged some nine years ago by tbe Colchester Lodges , and trusted that they would always be as prosperous as they were at this time . Bro . Philbriek also expressed nil thanks . Claiming , as he did , the honour of being a member of this venerable Lodge—he felt that no thanks were due to bim—he rather felt regret that he had been unable to come oftener . He had
been delighted at the kind words tbat had fallen from their R . W . P . G . M . No Lodge could have bad more encouraging words . At the same time he felt tbat tbe Lodge had worked so well that the praise had been fairly earned . The excellent way in whioh the ceremony had been done by a P . M . of the Lodge , showed that the traditions of Freemasonry were fully recognised within the Lodge , and as long as
that waa BO it must prosper . Lodge was shortly afterwards olosed , and 51 brethren afterwards dined at the Gups Hotel , a splendid dinner being well served by the host and hostess Mr . and Mrs . Brown . The usnal Masonio toasts were duly honoured , that of the R . W . Prov . G . M . and V . W . D . Prov . G . M . being very heartily drank . Both , in responding , again expressed their pleasure in seeing
the Lodge in so flourishing a condition , and wished the new W . M . a happy and prosperous year of office . Bro . Philbriek , alluding to the recent elections for the Masonio Schools , congratulated the Province generally upon the success that had attended their efforts in the election of both their candidates .
