Clayton Tarleton , Esq . a merchant in Liverpool , and one of the aldermen and mayor , of that corporation in 1792 . He married Jemima , eldest of the two daughters and coheirs of Thomas Robinson , of Liverpool , M . D . ; which lady died Dec . 4 . 1796 , and was interred under the family-pew in St .
Mary ' s choir in the South chancel of St . Nicholas's church , commonly called The Old Church , in Liverpool , where there is a very elegant monument erected to her memory by her husband . 7 . To her , dying without any legitimate issue , he left the whole of his large fortune , amounting , in landed estates and interest of money , to more than 12 , 000 ! . a-year ; and this he left absolutely at
her own disposal , though , during his life , at which time she much wanted it , he would not assist her with a single guinea . The landed estates , exceeding 7000 I . a-year , she has left to the son of Col . Caulfield , her nearest relation , and whose eldest brother , Tobias CaulfieldEsq . had been adopted by
