The commiitee appointed on March 19 , 1840 , to prepare a manifesto , declaratory of the illegality of certain individuals styling themselves Prince Masons , presented the following as calculated to meet the intended object : — " The Supreme Grand Council of Rites for Ireland having learned , with pain , that certain individuals have recently assumed the title of Prince
Masons , disclaiming the authority of His Grace the Duke of Leinster , Supreme Head of all the Masonic degrees in Ireland , consider it their duty thus to promulgate and declare , that such persons are not and cannot be recognised as entitled to the rank of Prince Masons , or Sovereign Princes Rose Croix . " Resolved—That the foregoing report be received . Passed unanimously . "Resolved—That said _ report be agreed to , and circulated as by ordei of the 19 th ult .
