MALTA , Dec . 27 . —The members of the two Lodges in this islandy tiie Lodge St . John ancl St . Paul ancl the Union of Malta , met together at their respective Halls , according to ancient custom , for the installation ' of a AVorshipful Master for the ensuing year . Capt . Robinson having been elected Worshipful Master for the Lodge 437 , was installed in due form , and the Brethren of that Lodge , at eight o ' clock p . m ., sat down to an elegant supper provided for the occasion .
Captain Drummond , of Her Majesty ' s 42 nd regiment , having been elected Worshipful Master of the Lodge 588 , being absent from the island , was not installed on this occasion , but the duties of the evening were ably carried out by Bro . Stephen Jerome , P . M . The members of the Union also sat down to an elegant supper , and the evening was spent by the members of both Lodges with harmony and conviviality . A deputation was sent from the Union to the Lodge St . John ancl St . Paul to congratulate them on the return of this Masonic festival : to strengthen ' the ties of brotherl y love existing between the members of the Masonic VOL . IV . IJ
