The Committee recommend that a charter of confirmation be granted . The Committee further recommend that inasmuch as the Rock Chapter , No . 260 , Trichinopoly , Madras , has ceased to work , the charter be returned . The Committee have to report that St . Peter's Westminster Chapter , No . 1537 , London , has ceased to work and returned its charter , and they recommend that it be erased .

The Committee have also to report that the Amity Chapter , No . 171 , London , has ceased to work , and they recommend that the chapter be summoned to show cause why it should not be erased from the roll of chapters .

LADIES' BANQUET AND BALL OF THE TEMPLE LODGE , No . 101 .

For the past few years this well-known flourishing city lodge has been honouied by the presence of the ladies in an up-river excursion , that of last year , during the Mastership of Bro . Harry Wood , I . P . M ., being most successful . A departure , introduced by Bro . F . Williams , P . M ., in 1 S 91 , has taken place in

holding a ladies banquet and ball at the Ship and Turtle Tavern , Leadenhallstreet , on Tuesday , the 21 st ult ., under the presidency of Bro . Frank Wint , W . M ., and most strenuously supported by Bro . F . Wil ! iams , P . M ., the esteemed Treasurer , through whose indefatigable exertions the whole proceedings were most successfully carried out .

The lodge of emergency was opened at 4 p . m . Present : Bros . F . Wint , W . M . ; Harry Wood . I . P . M . ; Chas . Plant , S . W ., W . M . elect ; Wm . Briant , J . W . ; Frank Williams , P . During the reception , a splendid bouquet was presented to Mrs . F . Wint by Bro . FRANK WILLIAMS , P . M ., in most appropriate terms , as follows : In the name of a few members of the Temple Lodge , to mark their high appreciation , I have the greatest possible pleasure in presenting this bouquet , and although these beautiful flowers will fade , I trust the memory of this happy meeting will be ever cherished in our hearts ,

The reception ended , the company adjourned to a recherche banquet , supplied by the worthy proprietor , Bro . C . J . Painter , personally superintended by Bro . Ashby . The banquet ended , the WORSHIPFUL MASTER gave the usual Masonic toast , "The Queen and tho Craft , " which was given and received right royally .

The toast of "The Worshipful Master , Bro . F . Wint , was next presented by Bro . HARRY WOOD , I . P . M ., most appropriately remarking that the number of visitors around the festive table showed the high esteem in which the W . M . was held , and also to the very able manner in which he always endeavoured to discharge his duties . He asked the company to drink to the toast in a bumper .

Bro . F . WINT , W . M ., in reply , most heartily thanked the comp my for drinking so cordially to the toast , and said he would then take the opportunity of stating the omission that was mide during the summer with respect to the ladies ' outing until it was too late , but , to mike amends for that , he hoped the ladies would most thoroughly enjoy themselves upon the present occasion . The toast ot " The Ladies" received at the hands of Bro . FRANK WILLIAMS ,

P . M ., such expressions as it most richly deserved , and stated that , at the command of the W . M ., he most readily and cheerfully obeyed . The toast was one that could not be ignored , for without the lidies where would they be ? What did they do ? Why , cheered them , poor , helpless brethren , after their hard labour . They worked for the ladies , and it was through them they were happy . He trusted they would have their presence with them on many future occasions , and God bless them .

Mr . FRANK WINT , on behalf of the ladies , very cordially thanked the worthy proposer , and expressed the gratification they all received at being present , and trusted about that time next year they all might have the invitation extended to them to be present at another such excellent bai . quet . Bro . BRANDON WHITE , P . M ., next presented the toast of "The Visitors , '

remarking that the brethren of the Temple Lodge had no greater enjoyment than that of entertaining their visitors . Those variois visits only tended to disseminate the gocd feeling which should always exist , and serve to bind each other more closely . He trusted that the visitors had the same pleasure in attending as the brethren of the Iodge had in extending the welcome .

Bro . GEORGE , jun ., in reply , said he felt it a great honour to be called upon to reply , although so many distinguished brethren were present . However , he would say , with Mr . F . Wint , that the visitors had thoroughly enjoyed themselves , and , for his part , must say he had never met a more geniai body of gentlemen nor a handsomer company of ladies , and he hoped , with the other visitors , to have the honour of coming again .

Upon the conclusion of the banquet , the company retired to the ball-room , where they were soon engaged to the lively strains of Mr . Thorpe ' s military band , the whole presenting a vtry brilliant spectacle , Bros . Harry Wood and T . VV Chapman acting as M . Cs . At the same time for those who did not indulge in the light fantastic , an excellent selection of music was provided , under the direction of Bro . Sidney Hill , the Organist of the Iodge , the artistes being Madame Alice Lovenez , Miss Blake , G . S . M ., Bros . J . Budd , VV . C . Toms , W . Stephens , and Walter Williams . Bro . S , Hill ably presided at the pianoforte .

The company parted in the small hours of the morning with the full gratification of all that had taken place , which marked an epoch in the history of the Temple Lodge .

The above association of old scholars of our School at Wood Green held another of their pleasant gatherings at Anderton ' s Hotel , on Friday , the 24 th ult . This time it took the form of a Bohemian concert , and a well-filltd room of members and their lady friends was presided over by Bro . J . G . Sessions . An excellent and well-varied programme of music was provided , the constant rounds of applause throughout testified , to the thorough appreciation the different

items received at the hands of the audience . The programme was composed as follows : "When the heart is young" ( Buck ) , " On the banks of Allan water " ( Horn ) , Miss Maggie Purvis ; " I thought you true " ( Pizzi ) , 'Come to me " ( Denza ) , Miss Kathleen Hope ; " Alice , where art thou " ( Ascher ) , " Sally in our Alley , " Mr . G . W . Turner ; " Oh , promise me " ( De Koren ) , " Let me love thee " ( Arditi ) , Mr . Tom Powley ; "The sailor ' s grave " ( Sullivan ) , " Lend meyouraid " ( Gounod ) , Mr . Tame * Horncastle . The humorous portion consisted of

"Nuggets , More work for the undertaker ( Bignell ) , Mr . Fred Daniels ; "The one-legged family" ( Glennon ) , "By the sad sea waves , " Mr . Harry Hawkes ; "Four fingers and a thumb , " "Sweet little lady , " Mr . G . Berry ; also two humorous recitations— "The cricket club of red nose flit" ( Wood ) , " The hair cutter " ( Turner ) , Mr . Walter Churcher . Bro . Harry Tipper contributed a couple of solos on the handbells— " The lost chord , " and " 1 seek for thee in every flower . "

Towards the close of the evening , Bro . W . M . Stiles , G . Treis ., and Bro . W . A . Scurrah entered the room and _ met with a hearty wclcom , e from the members . The whole concert was a complete success , and reflected great credit on the Chairman , Bro . J . G . Sessions ( an old Masonian ) , who had been instrumental in bringing together the artistes .

Before the company separated , Mr . C . H . UWINS , who had acted during the evening as musical director , proposed a vote of thanks to the Chairman , which was carried by acclamation . The following members of the Committee acted as Stewards : Messrs . G . Cross-Willett , C . P . O'Doherty , J . H . Hewett , and R . S . Chandler , Treas .

We are desired by the Hon . Treasurer of the association to announce that a Cinderella Dance will be given at Anderton's Hotel , on Thursday evening , the 13 th prox . Cost of tickets—single , 3 s . ; double , 5 s . ( including light refreshments . ) Dancing to commence at 7 . 30 . Tickets can be obt lined by applying to the Secretary , "Old Masonians , " Anderton ' s Hotel , Fleet-street , E . C .

Masonic Ball At Stamford.

MASONIC BALL AT STAMFORD .

A full dress Masonic ball in aid of the Royal Masonic Charities , the first of the kind held at Stamford , for many years , took place in the Assembly Rooms in that town , on Wednesday , the 22 nd ult . There was a large attendance , including members ol the Craft from several neighbouring towns . The ballroom was

beautifully decorated , among the distinctive features being the Stamford borough banner , the banner of the local lodge ( Lodge of Merit , No . 4 G 6 ) , and many emblems of the Masonic Order . The decorations were carried out by Mr . WRoyce and Mr . A . W . Edwards , Mr . J . 1 " . Holmes did the catering , and Mr . Allan Rippon supplied the band . Among the Stewards were Bros , J . S . Ladies' Banquet And Ball Of The Temple Lodge, No. 101.

The reception ended , the company adjourned to a recherche banquet , supplied by the worthy proprietor , Bro . C . J . Painter , personally superintended by Bro . Ashby . The banquet ended , the WORSHIPFUL MASTER gave the usual Masonic toast , "The Queen and tho Craft , " which was given and received right royally .

The toast of "The Worshipful Master , Bro . F . Wint , was next presented by Bro . HARRY WOOD , I . P . M ., most appropriately remarking that the number of visitors around the festive table showed the high esteem in which the W . M . was held , and also to the very able manner in which he always endeavoured to discharge his duties . He asked the company to drink to the toast in a bumper .

Bro . F . WINT , W . M ., in reply , most heartily thanked the comp my for drinking so cordially to the toast , and said he would then take the opportunity of stating the omission that was mide during the summer with respect to the ladies ' outing until it was too late , but , to mike amends for that , he hoped the ladies would most thoroughly enjoy themselves upon the present occasion . The toast ot " The Ladies" received at the hands of Bro . FRANK WILLIAMS ,

P . M ., such expressions as it most richly deserved , and stated that , at the command of the W . M ., he most readily and cheerfully obeyed . The toast was one that could not be ignored , for without the lidies where would they be ? What did they do ? Why , cheered them , poor , helpless brethren , after their hard labour . They worked for the ladies , and it was through them they were happy . He trusted they would have their presence with them on many future occasions , and God bless them .

Mr . FRANK WINT , on behalf of the ladies , very cordially thanked the worthy proposer , and expressed the gratification they all received at being present , and trusted about that time next year they all might have the invitation extended to them to be present at another such excellent bai . quet . Bro . BRANDON WHITE , P . M ., next presented the toast of "The Visitors , '

remarking that the brethren of the Temple Lodge had no greater enjoyment than that of entertaining their visitors . Those variois visits only tended to disseminate the gocd feeling which should always exist , and serve to bind each other more closely . He trusted that the visitors had the same pleasure in attending as the brethren of the Iodge had in extending the welcome .

Bro . GEORGE , jun ., in reply , said he felt it a great honour to be called upon to reply , although so many distinguished brethren were present . However , he would say , with Mr . F . Wint , that the visitors had thoroughly enjoyed themselves , and , for his part , must say he had never met a more geniai body of gentlemen nor a handsomer company of ladies , and he hoped , with the other visitors , to have the honour of coming again .

Upon the conclusion of the banquet , the company retired to the ball-room , where they were soon engaged to the lively strains of Mr . Thorpe ' s military band , the whole presenting a vtry brilliant spectacle , Bros . Harry Wood and T . VV Chapman acting as M . Cs . At the same time for those who did not indulge in the light fantastic , an excellent selection of music was provided , under the direction of Bro . Sidney Hill , the Organist of the Iodge , the artistes being Madame Alice Lovenez , Miss Blake , G . S . M ., Bros . J . Budd , VV . C . Toms , W . Stephens , and Walter Williams . Bro . S , Hill ably presided at the pianoforte .

The company parted in the small hours of the morning with the full gratification of all that had taken place , which marked an epoch in the history of the Temple Lodge .

The above association of old scholars of our School at Wood Green held another of their pleasant gatherings at Anderton ' s Hotel , on Friday , the 24 th ult . This time it took the form of a Bohemian concert , and a well-filltd room of members and their lady friends was presided over by Bro . J . G . Sessions . An excellent and well-varied programme of music was provided , the constant rounds of applause throughout testified , to the thorough appreciation the different

items received at the hands of the audience . The programme was composed as follows : "When the heart is young" ( Buck ) , " On the banks of Allan water " ( Horn ) , Miss Maggie Purvis ; " I thought you true " ( Pizzi ) , 'Come to me " ( Denza ) , Miss Kathleen Hope ; " Alice , where art thou " ( Ascher ) , " Sally in our Alley , " Mr . G . W . Turner ; " Oh , promise me " ( De Koren ) , " Let me love thee " ( Arditi ) , Mr . Tom Powley ; "The sailor ' s grave " ( Sullivan ) , " Lend meyouraid " ( Gounod ) , Mr . Tame * Horncastle . The humorous portion consisted of

"Nuggets , More work for the undertaker ( Bignell ) , Mr . Fred Daniels ; "The one-legged family" ( Glennon ) , "By the sad sea waves , " Mr . Harry Hawkes ; "Four fingers and a thumb , " "Sweet little lady , " Mr . G . Berry ; also two humorous recitations— "The cricket club of red nose flit" ( Wood ) , " The hair cutter " ( Turner ) , Mr . Walter Churcher . Bro . Harry Tipper contributed a couple of solos on the handbells— " The lost chord , " and " 1 seek for thee in every flower . "

Towards the close of the evening , Bro . W . M . Stiles , G . Treis ., and Bro . W . A . Scurrah entered the room and _ met with a hearty wclcom , e from the members . The whole concert was a complete success , and reflected great credit on the Chairman , Bro . J . G . Sessions ( an old Masonian ) , who had been instrumental in bringing together the artistes .

Before the company separated , Mr . C . H . UWINS , who had acted during the evening as musical director , proposed a vote of thanks to the Chairman , which was carried by acclamation . The following members of the Committee acted as Stewards : Messrs . G . Cross-Willett , C . P . O'Doherty , J . H . Hewett , and R . S . Chandler , Treas .

We are desired by the Hon . Treasurer of the association to announce that a Cinderella Dance will be given at Anderton's Hotel , on Thursday evening , the 13 th prox . Cost of tickets—single , 3 s . ; double , 5 s . ( including light refreshments . ) Dancing to commence at 7 . 30 . Tickets can be obt lined by applying to the Secretary , "Old Masonians , " Anderton ' s Hotel , Fleet-street , E . C .

MASONIC BALL AT STAMFORD .

A full dress Masonic ball in aid of the Royal Masonic Charities , the first of the kind held at Stamford , for many years , took place in the Assembly Rooms in that town , on Wednesday , the 22 nd ult . There was a large attendance , including members ol the Craft from several neighbouring towns . The ballroom was

beautifully decorated , among the distinctive features being the Stamford borough banner , the banner of the local lodge ( Lodge of Merit , No . 4 G 6 ) , and many emblems of the Masonic Order . The decorations were carried out by Mr . WRoyce and Mr . A . W . Edwards , Mr . J . 1 " . Holmes did the catering , and Mr . Allan Rippon supplied the band . Among the Stewards were Bros , J . S .
