After the reading of the minutes , and disposing of the ordinary business of the lodge , Mr . Henry Ralph Beaumont , of Whitley Beaumont , eldest son of Bro . Henry

Frederick Beaumont ( M . P . for the Colne Valley Division ) , J . VV ., who had been balloted for at the last meeting , vvas duly initiated . The ceremony vvas performed by Bro . Collins , W . M ., in a most impressive and able manner . This was the first ceremony the W . M . had performed since his installation . The working tools vvere delivered by Bro . B . Stocks , P . M ., and the charge vvas given by Bro . W . Fitton ,

P . M . There vvere several visitors present from Lodge of Harmony , 275 j Wharncliffe Lodge , 14 62 j and Colne Valley Lodge , 1645 . After the lodge vvas closed the brethren partook of tea together in the robing room , and a pleasant evening vvas afterwards spent , the usual Masonic toasts , interspersed with songs , being duly given . h's ability as an officer , and the esteem he was held in by the members of the lodge . Bro . Christie , in responding , stated that from the time he ™ initiated he had aspired to the chair of W . M ., and thanked the brethren for placing him in that proud position . His task would be a dillicult one—to follow in the footsteps of the I . P . M ., and he trusted he might be spared to do his dut y to the lodge .

Provincial Meetings.

In proposing " The Health of the I . P . M ., " the Worshipful Master referred to Bro . McArthur having celebrated his silver wedding , and asked him to arcept , as a small token of regard from the members of the lodge , a silver service of plate . Bro . McArthur , who vvas deeply moved , responded in a brief , but touching * speech . The Worshipful Master then proposed "The Masonic

Charities , " ancl stated that although they had a very expensive year , having paid for all their beautiful furniture , clothing , & c , that the West Lancashire Charities had not been overlooked , but they had subscribed the sum of 75 guineas to those Institutions . Bro . Holbrook spoke in the highest praise of the excellent and masterly manner in vvhich Bro . Caparn had performed the installation ceremony that day . Other toasts followed , including that of " The Host , Bro . Wells , his Wife , and Lewis , " to which Bro . Wells suitably replied . The remainder of the evening was spent in harmony .

M ., and he trusted he might be spared to do his dut y to the lodge .

Provincial Meetings.

In proposing " The Health of the I . P . M ., " the Worshipful Master referred to Bro . McArthur having celebrated his silver wedding , and asked him to arcept , as a small token of regard from the members of the lodge , a silver service of plate . Bro . McArthur , who vvas deeply moved , responded in a brief , but touching * speech . The Worshipful Master then proposed "The Masonic

Charities , " ancl stated that although they had a very expensive year , having paid for all their beautiful furniture , clothing , & c , that the West Lancashire Charities had not been overlooked , but they had subscribed the sum of 75 guineas to those Institutions . Bro . Holbrook spoke in the highest praise of the excellent and masterly manner in vvhich Bro . Caparn had performed the installation ceremony that day .
