Analysis Of The Returns.

ANALYSIS OF THE RETURNS .

We have pleaded guilty elsewhere to the charge of disappointment that the sum of the figures we are about to subject to the usual analysis is not larger . We were in hopes that a greater reaction would have set in in favour of this Institution , and that the Festival of Wednesday would have brought it something substantial in the way of compensation for the deficiency of last year . analysing the Returns will be somewhat li ghter than it has been at some former Festivals in behalf of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution . Taking the Metropolitan section of the Returns first , we find that London was represented by 175 Stewards , of whom 43 were Unattached , while the remaining 132 acted on behalf of 123 lodges and 9 chapters , the ratio of the represented to the unrepresented lodges in the Metropolitan district being about the same ;•<• in

Be this as it may , London , which furnished the Chairman of the day , has also furnished the more numerous section of the Board of Stewards , and the larger half of the total contributed . In other words , out of a Board of 328 Stewards , London vvas represented by 175 , and out of the total announced b y Bro . Terry as amounting to

It has not however , so happened , and therefore , to our very great regret , the task of

analysing the Returns will be somewhat li ghter than it has been at some former Festivals in behalf of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution .
