OUR PORTRAIT GALLERY OF WORSHIPFUL MASTERS . . In future numbers of the Freemason we purpose giving a series of portraits of Worshipful Masters who have been recently installed . Recognising the fact that no greater honour can be bestowed on a brother than to be elected the Master of his lodge , we

desire to do our part towards creating a permanent record of such event in his Masonic history by placing his portrait before our readers . We shall be pleased to furnish Secretaries of lodges and others who may take an interest in our project whatever information may be desired as to our proposed method of procedure .

It was onl y seven years since that the Domatic Lodge , No . 177 , celebrated the centenary of its constitution by the Grand Lodge of the "Ancient" or " Atholl" Masons , and now vve have the pleasure of recording that the chapter which bears the same name

and number , and which vvas founded in 1793 , celebrated its centenary on Thursday of last week . We have a full report in type , vvhich will appear in our columns next week . In the meantime , however , vve tender our

very cordial congratulations on this must auspicious event to thc chapter , and especiall y to Comp . H . Nelson Price , vvho , having presided as W . M . at the lodge centenary in 18 S 6 had the rare good fortune of presiding as I . P . Z . at the gathering on the 23 rd ult .

Ihe installation of Bro . the Right Hon . Lord George Francis Hamilton , M . P ., as R . W . Provincial Grand Master of Middlesex , will take place on the 6 th of May , at Teddington . It is hoped that , the ceremony will be performed by thn . Earl : of Lathom , M . W . Pro . Grand Master of England .

According to a paragraph in the Philadelphia Keystone , a certain Comp . Thomas H . Brown was installed a Kni g ht Templar in the Hoh- Cross Commandery , No . 51 on the roll of the G . Commandtfry of New York , on the 14 th February last . Sir Knight

Brown vvas born on the 22 nd January , 1791 , and was made a Mason in 1821 . He was therefore 102 years of age at the time of his installation . Our contemporary mentions a case in which a candidate vvas installed K . T . in the Mary Commandery , No . 36 ,

Philadelphia , and vve have read of a candidate for Masonic light was initiated in une of our English lodges at the ripe age of 86 ; but this case uf Sir Kni ght Brown beats the record , as far as our knowledge goes .

There is one thing to be said , our venerable Bro . the Rev . Sir J . Warren Hayes , Bart ., is an older Mason than llro . Brown , having been initiated jin the Apollo University Ludge of Oxford in 1 S 19—the year of its constitution .

At the mcetingof the GrandChapterof Pennsylvania , vvhich was held at the Masonic Hall , Philadel phia , on the 2 nd ult ., under the presidency of M . E . Comp . Edgar A . Tennis , M . E . G . H . P ., the M . M . M . Degree wasexemplilied by Comp . Richard M . Johnson , Grand Scribe ,

in a manner which has evoked a well-merited eulogium from the Keys / one , who describes the exemplification as having , " in a" sense , resembled well-adjusted machinery , " each officer " performing his part at the proper time and in a proper way . " " But while the

precision of machinery was exhibited in the rendition of the ceremonies , yet , our machines but living men were engaged in them , for their enthusiasm and earnestness fully developed tlieir interest in a thorough preparation

for thc duties assigned them . " In other words , the rehearsal went smoothly and successfully from first to last , vvhich is no more than vve have a right to expect from . 1 Grand Chapter .

The celebration ot the the 75 th anniversary , or , as it is called , the " Diamond Jubilee , " of the constitution of Meridian Sun Lodge , No . i . sB , on the roll of thc Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania , which was held at Ihe

OUR PORTRAIT GALLERY OF WORSHIPFUL MASTERS . . In future numbers of the Freemason we purpose giving a series of portraits of Worshipful Masters who have been recently installed . Recognising the fact that no greater honour can be bestowed on a brother than to be elected the Master of his lodge , we

desire to do our part towards creating a permanent record of such event in his Masonic history by placing his portrait before our readers . We shall be pleased to furnish Secretaries of lodges and others who may take an interest in our project whatever information may be desired as to our proposed method of procedure .

It was onl y seven years since that the Domatic Lodge , No . 177 , celebrated the centenary of its constitution by the Grand Lodge of the "Ancient" or " Atholl" Masons , and now vve have the pleasure of recording that the chapter which bears the same name

and number , and which vvas founded in 1793 , celebrated its centenary on Thursday of last week . We have a full report in type , vvhich will appear in our columns next week . In the meantime , however , vve tender our

very cordial congratulations on this must auspicious event to thc chapter , and especiall y to Comp . H . Nelson Price , vvho , having presided as W . M . at the lodge centenary in 18 S 6 had the rare good fortune of presiding as I . P . Z . at the gathering on the 23 rd ult .

Ihe installation of Bro . the Right Hon . Lord George Francis Hamilton , M . P ., as R . W . Provincial Grand Master of Middlesex , will take place on the 6 th of May , at Teddington . It is hoped that , the ceremony will be performed by thn . Earl : of Lathom , M . W . Pro . Grand Master of England .

According to a paragraph in the Philadelphia Keystone , a certain Comp . Thomas H . Brown was installed a Kni g ht Templar in the Hoh- Cross Commandery , No . 51 on the roll of the G . Commandtfry of New York , on the 14 th February last . Sir Knight

Brown vvas born on the 22 nd January , 1791 , and was made a Mason in 1821 . He was therefore 102 years of age at the time of his installation . Our contemporary mentions a case in which a candidate vvas installed K . T . in the Mary Commandery , No . 36 ,

Philadelphia , and vve have read of a candidate for Masonic light was initiated in une of our English lodges at the ripe age of 86 ; but this case uf Sir Kni ght Brown beats the record , as far as our knowledge goes .

There is one thing to be said , our venerable Bro . the Rev . Sir J . Warren Hayes , Bart ., is an older Mason than llro . Brown , having been initiated jin the Apollo University Ludge of Oxford in 1 S 19—the year of its constitution .

At the mcetingof the GrandChapterof Pennsylvania , vvhich was held at the Masonic Hall , Philadel phia , on the 2 nd ult ., under the presidency of M . E . Comp . Edgar A . Tennis , M . E . G . H . P ., the M . M . M . Degree wasexemplilied by Comp . Richard M . Johnson , Grand Scribe ,

in a manner which has evoked a well-merited eulogium from the Keys / one , who describes the exemplification as having , " in a" sense , resembled well-adjusted machinery , " each officer " performing his part at the proper time and in a proper way . " " But while the

precision of machinery was exhibited in the rendition of the ceremonies , yet , our machines but living men were engaged in them , for their enthusiasm and earnestness fully developed tlieir interest in a thorough preparation

for thc duties assigned them . " In other words , the rehearsal went smoothly and successfully from first to last , vvhich is no more than vve have a right to expect from . 1 Grand Chapter .
