A meeting o f the mother lodge ol Royal Ark Alarincrs , No . 1 , will bc held at Freemasons' Tavern on Tuesday next at five o ' clock p . m ., for the purpose of elevating candidates , the election and enthronement of the VV , Commander N ., and the appointment and investment of
officers . On Wednesday , the 17 th ult ., the Lord Mayor presided at the Centenary Anniversary of the Finsbury Dispensary , at th » Albion Hotel . He vvas supported by Bro . Sheriff Woolloton , Bro . Sheriff Bayley , Alajor Duncan , Mr . Under-Sheriff Wragg , Air . Under-Sheriff Crawford , and 120 guests . The Lord Alayor in presenting the loyal toasts , remarked that that day he had the honour of
attending the Duke of Connaught in his visit to a neighbouring institution—the Hospital for Deseases of the Chest—at which His Royal Highness took the chair that evening ; and on Friday last he was supporting Prince Leopold in his exertions on behalf of the great Alaso . iic Charity for Girls . He also mentioned other members of the Royal Family , all of whom were engaged in works of beneficence and charity . After the patriotic toasts , the Lord Alayor in proposing that of the Finsbury Dispensary entered
into an elaborate statement of the position and work done by that excellent institution . The statistics were somewhat remarkable , and showed what a vast amount of good could be effected by small means . With an income of £ 871 15 s . Sd . in 1 S 79 , 10 , 8 94 cases were treated , and 3122 visits were paid at the homes of patients , while a total of 34 , 211 attendances were made at the dispensary . At the close of the proceedings a very deserved compliment was paid to thc three sons of the Lord Alayor by Mr . Under-Sheriff Wragg , who alluded to the kindly attentions they always bestowed on the

guests and other visitors at the Alansion House . He concluded by proposing "The Health of Mr . G . Wyatt Truseott , " whom he described as thc worthy son of a worthy sire . Mr . G . Wyatt Truseott suitably replied . During the evening a telegram was despatched to the King of the Belgians , who is the patron of the Institution , informing His Majesty that they were celebrating the centenary
anniversary of the Institution , and were drinking his health , - subscriptions were announced to the amount of £ 750 . Bros . James and Thorne have revived Webster ' s petite drama , One Touch of Nature , with excellent effect , at the Vaudeville Theatre , and it is now being played before Married Life , a laughable , well-played comedy , in which the managers and Aliss Larkin arc seen at their best . A visitor to this house is sure of a good evening ' s
entertainment . The temh Parliament of Queen Victoria was opened by Royal Commission on Thursday afternoon , the 29 th ult . The business of the session will not commence for nearly a fortnight , an adjournment being rendered necessary in order that the new Ministers may be re-elected . The Queen ' s Speech vvas consequently deferred until the reassembling of the two Houses for thc despatch of business .
The following telegram has been received from the King of thc Belgians in acknowledgment of the toast of his health which vvas drunk at the centenary banquet of the Finsbury Dispensary last week : — " The Lord Mayor , London . —Le Roi est tres-sensible au toast qui lui a etc porte au diner du looe anniversaire du Finsbury Dispensary , et a latres aimable attention du Lord Alayor de le lui avoir telegraphic .
