C . of the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters ; a P . M . of the Metropolitan ( T . I . ) , and Rose and Lily Councils , and A . G . D . C . of the Grand Council of the Allied Degrees ; and was perfected Rose Croix in the Adoniram Chapter , No . 101 , of that Degree and is one of its Past M . W . Sovereigns . It should be added that at different times

he has been made honorary member in as many as ,= 54 lodges , chapters , and councils in England , America , and India . As for our Charities he has shown a great interest in them all and has done his utmost to support them both as contributor and Steward . He is a Vice-President of the Girls' School , a Life Governor of the Boys' School and Benevolent Institution , in addition to which he has done go od service as member of Finance and other Committees in connection with one or other of our Charities .

Bro . WILLIAM H . COWPEK , a very able and highly esteemed member of the Fraternity in the Province of North and East Yorkshire , was initiated in Restoration Lodge , No . in , Darlington , on the 14 th Jur . e , 1871 . The following year he joined the North York Lodge , No . 602 , Middlesborough , in the Province with which he has been ever since so prominently identified , and in the year 1 S 79 was elected and installed its W . Master . In 1888 be assisted in founding theFerrum

Lodge , No . 1848 , Middlesborough , and is an honorary member of the Orde Powlett and Humbcr Installed Masters' Lodge , Nos . 230 , and 2499 , respectively , as well as a member of the Outer or Correspondence Circle of Lodge Quatuor Coronati , No . 2076 , to which he was elected in 1888 . He has been twice honoured with the Provincial " Prfiple " in North and East Yorkshire , viz .: in the first

instance , as Prov . G . Registrar in 1881 , and as Prov . S . G . W . in 1894 . In Royal Arch Masonry , to which he was exalted in the Marwood Chapter , No . ( 102 , Middlesborough , he is a P . GRAND ORGANIST . Bro . GEORGE F . SMITH , who succeeds Bro . Ruse as Grand Organist , has highly distinguished himself during the 20 years he has been ; i member of our Society . His record , indeed , shows a far greater activity in lodge and chapter work than is usually exhibited by members of the musical profession . different times been elected a joining member of the Orpheus Lodge , No . 1706 , the Sterndale Bennett Lodge , No . 21 S 2 , the Guildhall School of Music Lodge , No . 2454 , and the Kent Lodge , No . 15 , and , in addition , he was in 1879 one of the founders of the Duke of Cornwall Lodge , No . 1839 . He has been elected and installed as W . M . of the Duke of Cornwall Lodge , No . 1839 , in 18 S 2 , of the Orpheus in 1 SS 5 , of the Sterndale Bennett in 18 SS , and of the Guildhall School

MULVEY , the new Grand Pursuivant , was initialed in the Crescent Lodge , No . 7 S 8 1 Hampton Court , on the 24 th June , 18 S 4 , and later in the course of the same year joined the Manchester Lodge , No . 179 , ol which in 1 SS 9 he was installed W . M . He was a founder of the Regent's Park Lodge , No . 2202 , in 18 SS ; founder and first Worshipful Master of the Cyclist Lodge , No . 2246 ,

Croydon , and founder and first W . M . of the Broxbourne Lodge , No . 2353 , formerly located at Broxbourne , but now at New Barnet . lie has been elected to serve on the Board of General Purposes for the last nine years and has sat on the Board of Benevolence likewise . He is a P . Grand Officer in two Provinces , being a Past Prov . G . S . B . Surrey , and a Past Prov . A . G . D . C . of Hertfordshire . He was exalted in the Camden Chapter , No . 704 , on the 31 st March , 188 7 , and is a founder and P . Z . of the Cyclist Chapter , No . 2246 , Croydon , a P . Z . of the Regent's Park

and Manchester Chapters , and was founder and first M . E . Z . last year of the Broxbourne Chapter , No . 2353 , and is in addition Past Prov . G . D . C . Surrey . He is a Mark Mason , founder and first W . M . of the Broxbourne Lodge , No . 42 s , and P . P . J . G . W . of Hertfordshire , and has been perfected Rose "Croix , ib ° . He is a Life Governor of the three Central Institutions and a Life Subscriber of the Mark Benevolent Fund , and has served as Festival Steward twice for the Girls ' School , three times for the Boys' School , three times for the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution , and once for the Mark Benevolent Fund .

ASSISTANT GRAND PURSUIVANT . Bro . WALTER MARTIN was initiated in the Southwark Lodge , No . 879 , on the 14 th March , 1 S 7 S , and on the Sth October , 1 S 85 , had the honour of being installed Worshipful Master . On the 13 th March , 1 S 94 , he was one of thc founders and acting P . M . of the Old Boys' Lodge , No . 2500 . He has also served on the Board of Benevolence . He was exalted a Royal Arch Mason in

As for our Charities he has shown a great interest in them all and has done his utmost to support them both as contributor and Steward . He is a Vice-President of the Girls' School , a Life Governor of the Boys' School and Benevolent Institution , in addition to which he has done go od service as member of Finance and other Committees in connection with one or other of our Charities .

Bro . WILLIAM H . COWPEK , a very able and highly esteemed member of the Fraternity in the Province of North and East Yorkshire , was initiated in Restoration Lodge , No . in , Darlington , on the 14 th Jur . e , 1871 . The following year he joined the North York Lodge , No . 602 , Middlesborough , in the Province with which he has been ever since so prominently identified , and in the year 1 S 79 was elected and installed its W . Lodge , No . 1848 , Middlesborough , and is an honorary member of the Orde Powlett and Humbcr Installed Masters' Lodge , Nos . 230 , and 2499 , respectively , as well as a member of the Outer or Correspondence Circle of Lodge Quatuor Coronati , No . 2076 , to which he was elected in 1888 . He has been twice honoured with the Provincial " Prfiple " in North and East Yorkshire , viz .: in the first

M . He was a founder of the Regent's Park Lodge , No . 2202 , in 18 SS ; founder and first Worshipful Master of the Cyclist Lodge , No . 2246 ,

Croydon , and founder and first W . M . of the Broxbourne Lodge , No . 2353 , formerly located at Broxbourne , but now at New Barnet . lie has been elected to serve on the Board of General Purposes for the last nine years and has sat on the Board of Benevolence likewise . He is a P . Grand Officer in two Provinces , being a Past Prov . G . S . B . Surrey , and a Past Prov . A . G . D . C . of Hertfordshire . He was exalted in the Camden Chapter , No . 704 , on the 31 st March , 188 7 , and is a founder and P . Z . of the Cyclist Chapter , No . 2246 , Croydon , a P . Z . of the Regent's Park

and Manchester Chapters , and was founder and first M . E . Z . last year of the Broxbourne Chapter , No . 2353 , and is in addition Past Prov . G . D . C . Surrey . He is a Mark Mason , founder and first W . M . of the Broxbourne Lodge , No . 42 s , and P . P . J . G . W . of Hertfordshire , and has been perfected Rose "Croix , ib ° . He is a Life Governor of the three Central Institutions and a Life Subscriber of the Mark Benevolent Fund , and has served as Festival Steward twice for the Girls ' School , three times for the Boys' School , three times for the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution , and once for the Mark Benevolent Fund .

ASSISTANT GRAND PURSUIVANT . Bro . WALTER MARTIN was initiated in the Southwark Lodge , No . 879 , on the 14 th March , 1 S 7 S , and on the Sth October , 1 S 85 , had the honour of being installed Worshipful Master . On the 13 th March , 1 S 94 , he was one of thc founders and acting P . M . of the Old Boys' Lodge , No . 2500 . He has also served on the Board of Benevolence . He was exalted a Royal Arch Mason in
