gr 0 . Adams gave the toast of " The Visitors , " to which Bros . Hayles and Kent replied . Bro . Hamshaw , in proposing the toast of " The Masonic Charities , " said they were proud of their Masonic Institutions to which they yearly contributed a sum of £ 50 , 000 . He a ' ls ° referred to the Inquiry that had ceen recently held - nto the Boys' School , and said the thanks of every brother were due to Bros . Greatbatch and Tunnicliffe for the

Carlton was passed , Bros . Coote , Marlow , and Catt were raised , and Mr . Aldon , after approbation , was

initiated . Some other lodge business having been transacted , the lodge was closed . The brethren having banqueted , the W . M . gave the usual loyal and Grand Lodge toasts , followed by that of " Lord Brooke , P . G . M ., " which was drank in bumpers . Bro . Lewis , in responding for " Bro . Philbrick , Q . C , G .

Keg . Eng ., D . P . G . M ., and the rest of the D . P . Officers , Present and Past , " said that with regard to their beloved P . G . M ., had he been present that evening , he would have been delighted with the working of the W . M . and his officers . Next August they would have an opportunity of seeing his lordship at P . G . Lodge and witnessing the energy and zeal he threw into the interests of the province . Their

esteemed D . P . G . M . had just completed an arduous task in connection' with the Boys' School , for which he deserved the thanks of every Mason in the kingdom . For the hearty reception of the toast he returned them his most sincere thanks . He then proposed the toast of "The W . M ., " whom he was pleased to see present in such good healthwhile the really perfect manner in which he had

, carried out his duty confirmed the high opinion entertained of him while J . W . of the lodge , and he felt sure that when the time arrived for him to install his successor , he would perform his duty in a manner worthy of the lodge . He asked them to drink the toast heaitily , and they did . Bto . Westfield thanked them very sincerely for their sincere reception of the toast . He was very sorry that the

time did not allow of him making a long speech in response to it . IE he had time he would have used all the eloquence in his power to have made his thanks acceptable to them ; but he would say that if he had at any time done anything to please them , he was perfectly satisfied . He was thankful to say that the lodge was prospering , and consoled himself for any shortcomings by the knowledge that jt was stronger now than it was when he took up the reins of office .

Bros . Jolly and Manning respond for the "P . M . ' s " Bro . Smith returned thanks for " The Officers , " after "The Initiate , " and then the proceedings , which had been enlivened by some excellent harmony , were , brought to a close .

educated in the Boys' school , where he had passed a Cambridge examination , and was glad that now , after 20 years since he left , he was admitted amongst them . He was sorry to see by the papers that the School had troubles , but he was sure they would soon overcome them . He recollected when he was at the School there was a deal of disagreement between the Educational and House Department , and concluded by paying a high compliment

to Bro . Binckes , Sec . Boys' School , on his ability and energy , by which means the School had risen to the dimensions it had attained . The other toasts were "The Visitors , " responded to by all , " The Treasurer and Secretary , " and " The Officers , " who responded , promising to support the W . M . in every way to further the success of the lodge . The Tyler ' s toast concluded the proceedings .

questions leading to the Second Degree , and was entrusted . Lodge was opened in the Second Degree , and Bro . Timms duly passed to the Degree of a F . C . Bro . Hamshaw , in proposing the toast of " The Masonic Charities , " said they were proud of their Masonic Institutions to which they yearly contributed a sum of £ 50 , 000 . initiated . Some other lodge business having been transacted , the lodge was closed . The brethren having banqueted , the W . M . gave the usual loyal and Grand Lodge toasts , followed by that of " Lord Brooke , P . G . M ., " which was drank in bumpers . Bro . Lewis , in responding for " Bro . Philbrick , Q . C , G .

Keg . Eng ., D . P . G . M ., and the rest of the D . P . Officers , Present and Past , " said that with regard to their beloved P . G . M ., had he been present that evening , he would have been delighted with the working of the W . M . and his officers . Next August they would have an opportunity of seeing his lordship at P . G . Lodge and witnessing the energy and zeal he threw into the interests of the province . Their

esteemed D . P . G . M . had just completed an arduous task in connection' with the Boys' School , for which he deserved the thanks of every Mason in the kingdom . For the hearty reception of the toast he returned them his most sincere thanks . He then proposed the toast of "The W . M ., " whom he was pleased to see present in such good healthwhile the really perfect manner in which he had

, carried out his duty confirmed the high opinion entertained of him while J . W . of the lodge , and he felt sure that when the time arrived for him to install his successor , he would perform his duty in a manner worthy of the lodge . He asked them to drink the toast heaitily , and they did . Bto . Westfield thanked them very sincerely for their sincere reception of the toast . He was very sorry that the

time did not allow of him making a long speech in response to it . IE he had time he would have used all the eloquence in his power to have made his thanks acceptable to them ; but he would say that if he had at any time done anything to please them , he was perfectly satisfied . He was thankful to say that the lodge was prospering , and consoled himself for any shortcomings by the knowledge that jt was stronger now than it was when he took up the reins of office .

educated in the Boys' school , where he had passed a Cambridge examination , and was glad that now , after 20 years since he left , he was admitted amongst them . He was sorry to see by the papers that the School had troubles , but he was sure they would soon overcome them . He recollected when he was at the School there was a deal of disagreement between the Educational and House Department , and concluded by paying a high compliment

to Bro . Binckes , Sec . Boys' School , on his ability and energy , by which means the School had risen to the dimensions it had attained . The other toasts were "The Visitors , " responded to by all , " The Treasurer and Secretary , " and " The Officers , " who responded , promising to support the W .
