Reports Of Masonic Meetings.

The proceedings were continued until a late hour of the evening , and were closed by the singing of the National Anthem , after which the brethren retired to their respective homes heartily pleased at the great success of the celebration . We understand that the Prov G . Lodge of West Yorkshire will hold its meeting at Keighley in October next , as a compliment to the lodge .

meeting were read and confirmed . A ballot was then taken for a candidate , which proved unanimous , and he was therefore initiated , the charge being delivered by Bro . John Stevenson , P . M . Bro . George Remmer was afterwards passed to the Degree of F . C , the charge being given by Bro . Wm . H . Falkingbridge , P . M . Soon afterwards the lodge was closed , and the brethren adjourned for refreshment , when a pleasant hour was spent in fraternal intercourse .

GREAT STANMORE . —Abercorn Lodge ( No . 1549 ) .-Theinstallation of this lodge was held on the ist ult ., when the respected Bro . Charles T . Tolman , after working up through the several Degrees in this his mother lodge , was ably installed into the chair of K . S . by Bro . Dr , Rogers , P . M ., P . P . S . G . W ., Treasurer . . Bro . Didsbury , W . M ., opened the lodge , and after the

minutes of the previous meeting had been duly confirmed , and the ceremony of passing Bro . H . G . Webb to the Second Degree effectively performed , the ceremony of installation was proceeded with , and the worthy brother received the hearty salutes from Past Masters and brethren according to ancient custom . After investing the I . P . M ., who was also presented with the handsome lodge jewel

( manufactured as usual by Bro . Geo . Kenning ) , the following brethren were invested as officers for the ensuing year , viz : Bros . D . R . Soames , S . W . j C . A . Woodbridge , J . W . j A . J . Verrall , S . D . j C . F . Jones , J . D . j E . B . Weatherall , I . G . j and J . Middleton , Tyler . Bro . H . Schartau was re-appointed Organist , and Bros . Dr . Rogers and C . Veal as Treasurer and Secretary respectively . The

addresses from the chairs were excellently given by the Installing Master , and after receiving from the visitors ( Bros . W . Taylor , igSi , and F . Fisher , 19 S 4 ) , the customary greetings , and also from Bro . Shury Marshall , an old P . M . of the lodge , by letter from Bombay , the W . M . closed the lodge . The inclemency of the season prevented the promised

attendance of many distinguished visitors , and also deprived the banquet of the usual musical treat for which this lodge is so famed , but the general good catering and hospitality were fully maintained , and the usual toasts ably given and responded to . The little Charity Box went its customary round , and the evening closed with that love and harmony which always characterises North Middlesex .

HAMPTON COURT . — Cama Lodge ( No . 2105 ) . —A meeting of the above lodge was held at the Mitre Hotel , on Monday , the 27 th ult ., when the following were present : Bros . John Read , W . , , others . The lodge having been opened , the minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed , after which the election of W . M ., Treasurer , and Tyler for the ensuing year took place , with the following result : Bro . N . D . Fracis , S . W ., as W . M . j Bro . Palmer , Treasurerj and Bro . Harrison , Tyler . An Audit Committee having been appointed , the

following notice of motion was given by the Secretary : — " That a Past Master's jewel , of the usual value , be presented by the lodge to the Worshipful Master on the completion of his year of office . " Other business having been transacted , the lodge was closed , and the brethren , with their numerous lady friends , adjourned to celebrate their first summer outing—full particulars of which will be found in another column .

THE ABBEY ( WESTMINSTER ) LODGE ( No . 2030 ) . —A meeting was held on Friday , the 24 th ult ., at the King's Arms , Buckingham Palace-road , S . W . Present : Bros . Roberts , W . The lodge was opened in due form , and the minutes of the last

meeting were read and confirmed , Bro . Snook , a candidate to be passed to the Second Degree , answered the usual questions and was entrusted . The lodge was opened in the Second Degree , and the ceremony of passing was rehearsed , Bro . Snook being the candidate . , A . S . J and J . J . Marsh , P . Z ., Janitor . The only visitor was Comp . Frederick Walters , P . P . G . 1 st A . S . Middx . The minutes of the last regular meeting were read and confirmed . Unfortunately , through ill-health , the candidate for exaltation was unable to be present . This was a great disappointment to all who were present , as both the M . E . Z ., Comp . Edward Mallett ( who greatly distinguished

himself by his excellent working when W . M . 141 ) , and Comp . C . Patrick , H ., well-known for his excellent Craft working , were both well prepared to do their work . However , it will prove to be but a pleasure deferred , for a candidate was proposed for next meeting , when there will sure to be some work . Apologies were received from Comps . H . J . Lardner , P . Z ., Treas ., and R . Brickdale

regretting their absence . The chapter was then closed . Abanquet followed , at which Comp . Edward Mallett presided . Comp . Frederick Walters responded to the toast of " The Visitor . " Comp . J . J . Marsh , P . P . G . D . C . Middx ., P . Z . 1326 , replied to his toast , given speciall y on this occasion , he

having dined with the chapter . Comps . E . Roberts , H . Forss , P . Z . j C . Patrick , and the M . E . Z ., C . Mallett , entertained the chapter with some good songs . After a few hours agreeably spent , the companions separated , well pleased with their social reunion .

C . )—The annual installation of the Master and officers of the above lodge took place in the Masonic Hall , Alice-street , on Thursday , July 5 th . There were about 40 visitors present , in addition to the members of the lodge . Bro . R . B . Howard acted as Installing Officer , and the following officers were installed : Bros . C . G . After the ceremony there was an adjournment made to one of the ante-rooms , where a banquet was served , at the conclusion of which the toasts of " The Oueen and Craft j "

"The R . W . District and Prov . Grand Masters and Officers , Present and Past ,- " "The Newly-Installed W . M . and Officers j " "The Visiting Brethren ; " and "All Poor and Distressed Masons , " were honoured in Masonic fashion . . Several references were made to the prospects of a Queensland Grand Lodge , and a visitor from Adelaide strongly urged that a movement to that end should be prosecuted with vigour .

BRISBANE . —Hiram Lodge ( No . 2 S 6 , I . C . ) . — The brethren of this lodge met on Wednesday , July nth , at the Masonic Hali , Alice-street , for the purpose of installing their oflicers for the ensuing term of twelve months . There was a fair attendance of members of the lodge , and also a large gathering of visitors , many of whom held posts ot distinction in other Masonic lodges . Bro . Josiah Young , P . M ., officiated as Installing officer , and Bro . G .

S . Hutton , D . G . S ., as Master of Ceremonies . After the installation Bro . B . L . Barnett , D . D . G . M ., delivered the customary charge to the new officers of the lodge , and Bro . Theo . Unmack , the R . W . D . G . M ., took occasion , during the interval in the ceremonial , to present Bro . Josiah Young with a very handsome Past Master ' s jewel , the gift of the retiring officers of the lodge . The officers installed were Bros . L . J . Moody , W . M . j W . J . Hooker ,

Mossop , I . G . j and J . Harlen , Tyler . On the closing of the lodge the brethren adjourned to one of the ante-rooms , where a very inviting banquet had been prepared by Mr . James Aylett .

Full justice having been done to the repast , the following toast list was duly honoured : " The Oueen and the Craft , " " H . R . H . the Prince of Wales , " "The R . W . D . and P . Grand Masters and Officers , " " The Newly-invested W . M . and Officers , " "The retiring W . M . and Officers , " "Our Visiting Brethren , " and "Our Poor and Distressed Brethren . "

During the evening some musical selections wete admirably rendered . Bro . P . Atkinson presided at the organ during the ceremonies , and at the piano after the banquet . All the brethren present spent a most enjoyable evening * and the proceedings terminated shortly before midnight .

IPSWICH . —United Tradesmen Lodge ( No . 288 , I . C . ) . —There was a large assemblage of brethren ot the different lodges in this town at the Masonic Hall on Thursday , July 5 th , the occasion being the installation ot the newly-elected W . M . and officers of the above lodge-There were eight members of the District Grand Lodge present who journeyed from Brisbane to assist in the function , the R . W . P . G . M ., Bro . Unmack , delegating a portion

Reports Of Masonic Meetings.

The proceedings were continued until a late hour of the evening , and were closed by the singing of the National Anthem , after which the brethren retired to their respective homes heartily pleased at the great success of the celebration . We understand that the Prov G . Lodge of West Yorkshire will hold its meeting at Keighley in October next , as a compliment to the lodge .

Bro . George Remmer was afterwards passed to the Degree of F . C , the charge being given by Bro . Wm . H . Falkingbridge , P . M . Soon afterwards the lodge was closed , and the brethren adjourned for refreshment , when a pleasant hour was spent in fraternal intercourse .

GREAT STANMORE . —Abercorn Lodge ( No . 1549 ) .-Theinstallation of this lodge was held on the ist ult ., when the respected Bro . Charles T . Tolman , after working up through the several Degrees in this his mother lodge , was ably installed into the chair of K . S . by Bro . Dr , Rogers , P . M ., P . P . S . G . W ., Treasurer . . Bro . Didsbury , W . M ., opened the lodge , and after the

minutes of the previous meeting had been duly confirmed , and the ceremony of passing Bro . H . G . Webb to the Second Degree effectively performed , the ceremony of installation was proceeded with , and the worthy brother received the hearty salutes from Past Masters and brethren according to ancient custom . After investing the I . P . M ., who was also presented with the handsome lodge jewel

( manufactured as usual by Bro . Geo . Kenning ) , the following brethren were invested as officers for the ensuing year , viz : Bros . D . R . Soames , S . W . j C . A . Woodbridge , J . W . j A . addresses from the chairs were excellently given by the Installing Master , and after receiving from the visitors ( Bros . W . Taylor , igSi , and F . Fisher , 19 S 4 ) , the customary greetings , and also from Bro . Shury Marshall , an old P . M . of the lodge , by letter from Bombay , the W . M . closed the lodge . The inclemency of the season prevented the promised

attendance of many distinguished visitors , and also deprived the banquet of the usual musical treat for which this lodge is so famed , but the general good catering and hospitality were fully maintained , and the usual toasts ably given and responded to . The little Charity Box went its customary round , and the evening closed with that love and harmony which always characterises North Middlesex .

HAMPTON COURT . — Cama Lodge ( No . 2105 ) . —A meeting of the above lodge was held at the Mitre Hotel , on Monday , the 27 th ult ., when the following were present : Bros . John Read , W . Unfortunately , through ill-health , the candidate for exaltation was unable to be present . This was a great disappointment to all who were present , as both the M . E . Z ., Comp . Edward Mallett ( who greatly distinguished

himself by his excellent working when W . M . 141 ) , and Comp . C . Patrick , H ., well-known for his excellent Craft working , were both well prepared to do their work . However , it will prove to be but a pleasure deferred , for a candidate was proposed for next meeting , when there will sure to be some work . Apologies were received from Comps . H . J . Lardner , P . Z ., Treas ., and R . Brickdale

regretting their absence . The chapter was then closed . Abanquet followed , at which Comp . Edward Mallett presided . Comp . Frederick Walters responded to the toast of " The Visitor . " Comp . J . M . and Officers j " "The Visiting Brethren ; " and "All Poor and Distressed Masons , " were honoured in Masonic fashion . . Several references were made to the prospects of a Queensland Grand Lodge , and a visitor from Adelaide strongly urged that a movement to that end should be prosecuted with vigour .

BRISBANE . —Hiram Lodge ( No . 2 S 6 , I . C . ) . — The brethren of this lodge met on Wednesday , July nth , at the Masonic Hali , Alice-street , for the purpose of installing their oflicers for the ensuing term of twelve months . There was a fair attendance of members of the lodge , and also a large gathering of visitors , many of whom held posts ot distinction in other Masonic lodges . Bro . Josiah Young , P . M ., officiated as Installing officer , and Bro . G .

S . Hutton , D . G . S ., as Master of Ceremonies . After the installation Bro . B . L . Barnett , D . D . G . M ., delivered the customary charge to the new officers of the lodge , and Bro . Theo . Unmack , the R . W . D . G . M ., took occasion , during the interval in the ceremonial , to present Bro . During the evening some musical selections wete admirably rendered . Bro . P . Atkinson presided at the organ during the ceremonies , and at the piano after the banquet . All the brethren present spent a most enjoyable evening * and the proceedings terminated shortly before midnight .

IPSWICH . —United Tradesmen Lodge ( No . 288 , I . C . ) . —There was a large assemblage of brethren ot the different lodges in this town at the Masonic Hall on Thursday , July 5 th , the occasion being the installation ot the newly-elected W . M . and officers of the above lodge-There were eight members of the District Grand Lodge present who journeyed from Brisbane to assist in the function , the R . W . P . G . M ., Bro .
