ROYAL MASONIC INSTITUTION FOR GIRLS .

The General Committee of Subscribers to the Masonic Girls' School , held its regular meeting for December , 1896 , which was not diaried in the authorised Masonic Calendar for the year , on Thursday afternoon , in the Board Room , Freemasons , Hall . Bro . Frank Richardson , P . G . D ., was elected to the chair . There were also present Bros . A . W . Duret , C . Pulman , William Vincent , C . H . Webb , Hugh JL Gordon , Alfred C . Spaull , John French , Samuel H . Parkhouse , W . G . Kentish , H . Massey , Henry A . Tobias , Thomas Webb Whitmarsh , J . M McLeod , and F . R . W . Hedges , Secretary .

On the motion of Bro . A . C . SPAULL , a vote of thanks was passed to the Supreme Council for their gift of i . 10 a year to a girl to assist her in her hig her education . The CHAIRMAN reported the investment of £ 600 in India 3 per cents , at uoji b y Messrs . Fenn and Crossthwaite , free of brokerage . Ten guineas were voted to the girls' Christmas entertainment on January Jthand

, __ The CHAIRMAN also informed the Committee that Bro . Edward Terry , P . G . Treasurer , had g iven the children an entertainment at the theatre , where they had dress-circle seats . He was also going to take them to the Christy Minstrel

entertainment . On the motion of Bro . A . C . SPAULL it was resolved that 23 out of the 25 cases reported on by the Petition Committee be reported to the Quarterly Court of January to be placed on the list of candidates for the election of'April , 1897 . The SECRETARY reported the following receipts for the year 1896 as £ 1966435 . 1 id .

BRO . W . C . PAGE . It is with deep regret we announce the death of Bro . W . C . Page , P . M ., of the Vivian Hotel , Philip-road , Peckham Rye , and formerly of the Fox and Hounds Hotel , Putney . Our brother was 62 years of age , and died on the 26 th ult ., after a painful illness . During his career as a Mason he had been a member

of the Wolsey Lodge , No . 1656 ; Royal Commemoration Lodge , No . 1585 ; St . John ' s Lodge , No . 795 ; and had been through the chair of the Rose Lodge , No . 1622 ; Peckham Lodge , No . 1745 ; and the Stanhope Lodge , No . 126 9 . He was a P . Z . of the Stanhope Chapter , and one of the founders of the Rose Chapter ; and Preceptor of the Stanhope Lodge of Instruction . He was a true friend , a splendid Mason , and his working of the ritual was perfect . Bro . Page was known to us personally for many years , and we tender our respectful

sympathy to his bereaved widow and family and to the members of his several lodges , who have sustained a great loss , but his memory cinnot be but ever green to them . The funeral took place on the 30 th ult . at the Putney Lower Cemetery . The mourners were the two sons and one of the daughters of our deceased brother and other relatives . When the gates of the Cemetery were reached there was a good muster of members of the Craft , amongst whom were Bros . J . H . Custance , P . M . 79 s and 2432 ; Tom Grant , P . M . 1656 and 2319 ; G . E . W . Tucker

BRO . W . C . PAGE . It is with deep regret we announce the death of Bro . W . C . Page , P . M ., of the Vivian Hotel , Philip-road , Peckham Rye , and formerly of the Fox and Hounds Hotel , Putney . Our brother was 62 years of age , and died on the 26 th ult ., after a painful illness . During his career as a Mason he had been a member

of the Wolsey Lodge , No . 1656 ; Royal Commemoration Lodge , No . 1585 ; St . John ' s Lodge , No . 795 ; and had been through the chair of the Rose Lodge , No . 1622 ; Peckham Lodge , No . 1745 ; and the Stanhope Lodge , No . 126 9 . He was a P . Z . of the Stanhope Chapter , and one of the founders of the Rose Chapter ; and Preceptor of the Stanhope Lodge of Instruction . He was a true friend , a splendid Mason , and his working of the ritual was perfect . Bro . Page was known to us personally for many years , and we tender our respectful

sympathy to his bereaved widow and family and to the members of his several lodges , who have sustained a great loss , but his memory cinnot be but ever green to them . The funeral took place on the 30 th ult . at the Putney Lower Cemetery . The mourners were the two sons and one of the daughters of our deceased brother and other relatives . When the gates of the Cemetery were reached there was a good muster of members of the Craft , amongst whom were Bros . J . H . Custance , P . M . 79 s and 2432 ; Tom Grant , P .
