. 6838 ns . od . Several Sub-Committees were appointed , and votes of thanks passed to the General and Sub-Committees ; also to the Treasurer , Bro . W . Jaffray , and Bro . James Heelis , Hon . Sec , who were both re-elected , and to Bro . J . H . Sillitoe , Chairman , and Bro . Newbold , Vicechairman of the General Committee .
A motion to alter the rules of the Institution for the purpose of appointing Stewards for the forthcoming Festival was proposed by Bro . C . D . CHEETHAM , and unanimously passed . After several questions had been asked and satisfactorily replied to , Bro . SILLITOE proposed a vote of thanks to the
President , Colonel Starkie , and in doing so bore testimony to the deep interest evinced in the welfare of the Institution by that worthy brother , who had not only most liberally assisted it financially , but had also given them encouragement by his personal attendance at their meetings . That was their 19 th annual meeting , and he could speak from personal knowledge that Colonel
Starkie had presided over every one of them . The proposition was supported by Bros . NEWBOLD and ANDREW , and received with acclamation . The PKOV . G RAND MASTER , in reply , thanked the brethren for their enthusiastic reception of his name . He assured them it was a great pleasure for him to attend these meetings , not only on account of the
deep interest he took in the Institution , but also of the true Masonic and harmonious manner in which the proceedings were always conducted . He wished other Prov . Grand Masters had been present to witness the unanimous manner in which they managed the affairs of this Institution . He ( Bro . Starkie ) sincerel y hoped and believed that the coming festival would be a great success . He impressed upon the representative of

each lodge that it was his imperative duty to bring the matter strongly and prominently before every member of his lodge : at the same time , he did not wish the festival to interfere with the desire of any lodge or brother to support the London Charities . He thought there was room for all , and he would like to see them working hand in hand together . In conclusion , he
proposed a vote of thanks to the Freemasons Club for giving them the use of that room for the meeting , and paid a well-deserved compliment to the Committee upon the great improvements they had made in their arrangements . He trusted that brethren would give
the Club their hearty support , as he considered it to be the head-quarters of Masonry in the province . Bro . W . J AFFRAY responded , and expressed a wish that those present who were not then members of the Club would soon become members . The meeting then terminated .

A motion to alter the rules of the Institution for the purpose of appointing Stewards for the forthcoming Festival was proposed by Bro . C . D . CHEETHAM , and unanimously passed . After several questions had been asked and satisfactorily replied to , Bro . SILLITOE proposed a vote of thanks to the
President , Colonel Starkie , and in doing so bore testimony to the deep interest evinced in the welfare of the Institution by that worthy brother , who had not only most liberally assisted it financially , but had also given them encouragement by his personal attendance at their meetings . That was their 19 th annual meeting , and he could speak from personal knowledge that Colonel
Starkie had presided over every one of them . The proposition was supported by Bros . NEWBOLD and ANDREW , and received with acclamation . The PKOV . G RAND MASTER , in reply , thanked the brethren for their enthusiastic reception of his name . He assured them it was a great pleasure for him to attend these meetings , not only on account of the
deep interest he took in the Institution , but also of the true Masonic and harmonious manner in which the proceedings were always conducted . He wished other Prov . Grand Masters had been present to witness the unanimous manner in which they managed the affairs of this Institution . He ( Bro . each lodge that it was his imperative duty to bring the matter strongly and prominently before every member of his lodge : at the same time , he did not wish the festival to interfere with the desire of any lodge or brother to support the London Charities . He thought there was room for all , and he would like to see them working hand in hand together . In conclusion , he
proposed a vote of thanks to the Freemasons Club for giving them the use of that room for the meeting , and paid a well-deserved compliment to the Committee upon the great improvements they had made in their arrangements . He trusted that brethren would give
the Club their hearty support , as he considered it to be the head-quarters of Masonry in the province . Bro . W . J AFFRAY responded , and expressed a wish that those present who were not then members of the Club would soon become members . The meeting then terminated .
