namely , Whymper ' s " Religion of Freemasonry , " and Hughan ' s " Fac-simile of the 1734 List of Lodges . " He also spoke of the possible connection that might have existed between the Freemasonry of the latter part of the 17 th century and the Rosicrucianism or Occultism of the same period , and he also quoted a desciiption of a very singular illustrated MS . said to be in the possession of a Mr .

J . E . Hodgkin , F . S . A ., in which thcsymbolsof these Societies seemed to be mixed up in a curious manner . Finally he congratulated the college on the pi ogress made , and ex « pressed the pleasure he experienced at meeting so many brethren of leading and intelligence under a common banner from time to time . The value of these meetings he thought could hardly be over estimated . The bringing

together , periodically , of intelligent Masons from various lodges was alone calculated to produce harmony and to promote a wide-spread feeling of mutual regard and esteem . It afforded opportunities for brethren from several provinces to meet and compare notes on Masonic subjects ,

and formed a sort of rallying point of Masonic culture . After a vote of thanks to the trustees of the Eboracum Lodge for the use of the Hall , the M . C . was dissolved , and about 35 of the fratres met at the North-Eastern Hotel at tea , after which a couple of hours were spent in Masonic conversation .

namely , Whymper ' s " Religion of Freemasonry , " and Hughan ' s " Fac-simile of the 1734 List of Lodges .
