The minutes having been read , Bro . T . G . H . Johnson initiated Mr . Charles John Thomson into the ancient mysteries . Bro . Joel was elected and invested Treasurer . Bro . W . H . Stone , I . P . M ., then proceeded to instal Bro . T . Compton Stanley , P . M ., as Master forthe ensuing year , a task agreed upon by all to have been
most creditably and efficiently performed , hampered as he was by a very bad cold . The W . M . is also to be congratulated upon the manner in which he invested his officers . Bro . Stone having been presented with a Past Master ' s jewel , and also a collar , and thanking the lodge in feeling terms , the lodge , after a little discusison re the Audit Committee ' s report , and the voting of £ 5 5 s . for the W . M . ' s list for the Girls' School Festival , adjourned to refreshment , and during the banquet a very select programme of vocal and instrumental music was given under the direction of Bro . J . C . Steiner , the items we

" Take a pair ot sparkling eyes , " and " The Lost Chord " were most efficiently rendered b y Mr . George Harlow on the cornet . On proceeding to the toast list , the W . M ., in giving " The King , " which was drunk with enthusiasm , remarked on the good their late M . W . G . M . had done for the Craft during his many years' tenure of his exalted office .
Jn proposing " The M . W . Pro G . M ., Deputy G . M ., and the rest of the Grand Officers , Present and Past , " the W . M . coupled the name of Bro . Wilhelm Ganz , P . G . Org ., with the toast . Bro . Wilhelm Ganz , in replying , stated what pleasure it afforded him to be present at the installation that day of his old friend , Bro . T . Compton Stanley , they both belonging to the same mother lodge ( the Salisbury ) , and called attention to the fact that by the election of H . R . H . the Duke of Connaught to the acting leadership of English Freemasonry , the Craft would derive much benefit in having one who had their common interests so much at heart . flllblWM W IIIU . ^ Bro . W . H . Stone , l . P . M ., then rose to toast his newly-elected successor to the chair , and referred to him as an able worker , and diligent in all things Masonic . The W . M ., in response , remarked that he regarded his election as one of the happiest moments in his life , tinged by sadness , however , as it could not help being by the lamented death of Bro . Axford , to whose special presence on that occasion to support him at his installation he had looked forward . The W . M . then gave "The I . P . M ., Bro . W . H . Stone , " and referred to the work he had done in the Craft , and to the particularly workmanlike way in which he had discharged his important duties that evening .

Bro . Stone , in rising to thank the W . M . and the brethren for the hearty manner iB which they had received the toast , said that as Bro . Ganz in his remarks seemed t 0 imply that he had a past , he trusted that he had a future also and the lodge as well , anj : a good one , and , as far as he was concerned , it would have , as he should continue to forward its interests .
The W . M . then proposing " Our Brother the Initiate , " regarded it as the toast of the evening , and said judging by the way Bro . Thomson had gone through ' the ceremony he appreciated his entrance into our ancient Institution . Bro . C . J . Thomson , in his reply , said how proud he was to be received as a brother and thanked the newly found brethren for their reception of him . Bros . Paxton , W . M . 435 ; Bale , P . M . and Treas . 87 ; E . G . Lundberg , i 2 s . Webb , P . M . 92 ; and H . Trimmell , 15 S 0 , thanked the W . M . in suitable and happy terms for the entertainment offered them .
Bro . G . W . Capel , in responding for " The Past Masters , " commented on the fact that he was , owing to the death of Bro . Axford , senior Past Master of the Alleyn Lodge , and thanked the brethren . Bro . J . Joel in a few words endorsed the remarks of the last speaker . Bro . Stone , I . P . M ., expressed his gratification at seeing Bro . Stanley in the chair ,
Bro . J . Joel , the newly-elected Treasurer , said what a great honour he felt in being called upon to succeed to the office so ably held by the late Bro . Axford , and hoped ht also would be able to earn the esteem and respect of the brethren . Bro . C . H . Philips then , in his capacity as Secretary , assured the brethren of the splendid financial condition of the lodge , although so young , and said if they went on at the same rate as they had been doing they would become the finest lodge in London .
In toasting " The Officers , " the W . M . called attention to the presence of Bro . Harris , who had been fighting in South Africa , and hoped he would soon take active service in the lodge . The S . W . and J . W . then replied , and the Tyler ' s toast brought a long and interesting evening to a close .
