The lodge having been opened , the W . M . called upon the brethren to salute the Provincial Grand Officers present , for which Bro . Room , P . G . Sec , returned thanks . The minutes of the last meeting vvere read and confirmed , as : also the report of the Audit Committee , which showed a balance of upwards of £ 23 . The W . M . then asked the brethren to excuse his proceeding with the ceremony ; he

did not feel in the presence of so distinguished a company quite equal to the occasion . This having been generously accorded , Bro . Austin , P . M ., Sec , assumed the chair , and duly installed Bro . S . C Fisk , the ceremony , as well as the subsequent addresses , being given in a masterly manner . The lodge vvas then closed , and the brethren adjourned to the banquet , which vvas served in Bro . Freeman ' s best

style . The usual loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured , lhat of " The Provincial Grand Officers " being responded to by Bro . Howard H . Room , who congratulated the lodge on its sound position and the excellence of its working . It ' was his first visit to the lodge , and he took that opportunity of thanking the brethren in having so far honoured him by

electing him an honorary member . In giving the toast of "The I . P . M ., " the W . M . referred to the genial manner of Bro . Covell , who , although not a great worker , had done what duties he undertook in a satisfactory manner . He then , in the name of the lodge , presented Bro . Covell with a very handsome Past Master ' s

jewel , for which Bro . Covell returned thanks . The toast of "The Visitors " vvas responded to by Bros . Forge , Eales , Lyons , and Axford , while interesting musical contributions vvere given by Bros . Horace , Clark , Figg , and others , the company separating at an early hour , the railway arrangements not permitting of a prolonged stay .

Bro . Bois , the VV . M ., Bro . Geo . Rogers having , as usual , done everything to contribute much to the comfort of the brethren at the refreshment board .
