Then the matter had only been discussed by the Committee , and negotiations had not been entered into vvith our chief local violinist . We are now happy to say that the members of the Committee and Bro . Carrington have had an interview , terms have been arranged , and Bro . Carrington has definitely accepted the appointment . We congratulate this gifted brother on his success .

Eglinton , keeps up that character vvhich we have from time to time had the pleasure to comment upon . This month Miss Katie Seymour , who has made the great hit as a dancer in " Joan of Arc , " appears as one of the portraits , the other being a group consisting of Bros . Harry
Monkhouse , Harry Parker , and John Le Hay in " Maid Marian . " The reading is all sound and up to date . The delightfully graphic notices of the various plays produced during the last month are faithfully written by that veteran critic , Mr . Cecil Howard , and should be stored up in one ' s library wherewith to refresh one ' s memory in times to come and for reference . We gladly welcome this neatly got-up monthly periodical .

In the Chancery Division of the High Court of Justice on Saturday there was a petition in the list of Mr . Justice Chitty to restore the name of the Newcastle-upon-T yne Masonic Hall Company , which had been erased , to the Register of Joint Stock Companies . Mr . Ingle Joyce ,
