At Abingdon on Friday , the 24 th ult ., a special meeting of the newly-formed Provincial Grand Chapter of Berkshire was held , when Comp . J . T . Morland was installed as Grand Superintendent by Comp . Col . ShadwelUH . Clerke , Grand Scribe E .
Comp . Col . Shadwell H . Clerke , Installing Principal , opened the chapter and was supported by Comps . Lord Valentia , G . S . N ., acting Prov . G . H . ; Rev . H . A . Pickard , Grand Superintendent Oxon , acting Prov . G . J . ; Frank Richardson , P . G . D . C , acting D . C ; and H . C . Tombs , P . A . G . Soj . Eng , P . G . S . E . Wilts . There was a larre number of companions present .
The ACTING SCRIBE E . read the summons convening the meeting , and then called the roll of chapters in the province , all being represented , after vvhich the Grand Superintendent designate was announced , and then requested to send in his patent . The Installing Principal examined the patent , and directed a deputation , consisting of Past Principals , to retire vvith the D . C . and introduce the Grand Superintendent designate , which vvas done .

J . seconded , the following resolution , vvhich was carried unanimously : "That a Committee be appointed for the purpose of preparing new by-laws for the Provincial Grand Chapter of Berkshire , and that the following companions be elected to serve on such Committee , namely : ¦ The Grand Superintendent , Prov . G . H ., Prov . G . J ., Prov . G . S . E ., Prov . G . S . N ., and Prov . G . Treasurer , together with the M . E . Z . of each chapter in the province , and meanwhile the by-laws of the old Province of Berks and Bucks be adopted as far as practicable . "
On the motion of Comp . CANTRELL , seconded b y Comp . SHEPHERD , it was resolved that the said Committee should also have full powers to decide as to the division of the moneys and property of the old Province of Berks and Bucks . Comp . SHEPHERD proposed , and Comp . MOUNT seconded , that Comps . Col . Shadwell H . Clerke , Lord Valentia , Rev . H . A . Pickard , and Frank Richardson be elected members of this province as a slight return for the able assistance rendered to the province that day .
It vvas carried by acclamation , and those excellent companions acknowledged the compliment and consented to become members . The Provincial Grand Chapter vvas then closed , after vvhich the companions sat down to a luncheon in the Council Chamber , over which the Grand Superintendent presided .

CONSECRATION OF THE DAGMAR CHAPTER , No . 2262 .
The latest addition to the roll of Royal Arch chapters took place on Thursday , the 23 rd ult ., at Wraysbury , in the Province of Buckinghamshire , when those brethren of the prosperous Dagmar Lodge , No . 2262 , Bucks , who are Royal Arch Masons met together at the Anglers' Rest to take part in the consecration of a new chapter to be called the Dagmar Chapter , No . 2262 , in the Province of Buckinghamshire . The Consecrating Officers were Comps . the Rev . J . Studholme

The chapter having been formally opened , the consecration ceremony was performed in an impressive manner , its effect being heightened by the musical portion being rendered in a most efficient manner by Comps . W . H . Harper ( Musical Director ) , J . Hodges , W . Price , E . Moss , and E . J . Bell . After the usual formalities , Comp . Rev . J . Studholme Brownrigg installed the Principals of the new chapter as follows : Comps . Walter Wingham , M . E . Z . ; J . Hattersley , H . ; and C R . Williams
J . The M . E . Z . then invested the officers * . Comps . E . W . Lewcock , S . E . ; H . T . Thompson , S . N . ; VV . H . Clemow , Treas . ; W . G . Cannon , P . S . ; and J . Youlden , 1 st Asst . Soj . A long list of brethren vvas proposed and seconded for exaltationat the next meeting , and a cordial vote of thanks was passed , and the honorary membership of the chapter conferred upon the Consecrating Officers for their services , which Comp . Rev . J . Studholme Brownrigg acknowledged , expressing the pleasure it afforded him to be present on such an occasion , and passing some most complimentary remarks
about the progress that the Dagmar Lodge had made . He felt every confidence that in the hands of such energetic founders the chapter would make as good a mark in the province as the lodge had done , and have a very prosperous career before it . The chapter was thereafter closed , and was followed by an excellent banquet , after vvhich the usual toasts were proposed and dul y honoured , and the companions separated after having spent a most enjoyable time . The chapter having been formally opened , the consecration ceremony was performed in an impressive manner , its effect being heightened by the musical portion being rendered in a most efficient manner by Comps . W . H . Harper ( Musical Director ) , J . Hodges , W . Price , E . Moss , and E . J . Bell . After the usual formalities , Comp . Rev . J . Studholme Brownrigg installed the Principals of the new chapter as follows : Comps . Walter Wingham , M . E . Z . ; J . Hattersley , H . ; and C R . Williams
J . The M . E . Z . then invested the officers * . Comps . E . W . Lewcock , S . E . ; H . T . Thompson , S . N . ; VV . H . Clemow , Treas . ; W . G . Cannon , P . S . ; and J . Youlden , 1 st Asst . Soj . A long list of brethren vvas proposed and seconded for exaltationat the next meeting , and a cordial vote of thanks was passed , and the honorary membership of the chapter conferred upon the Consecrating Officers for their services , which Comp . Rev . J . Studholme Brownrigg acknowledged , expressing the pleasure it afforded him to be present on such an occasion , and passing some most complimentary remarks
about the progress that the Dagmar Lodge had made . He felt every confidence that in the hands of such energetic founders the chapter would make as good a mark in the province as the lodge had done , and have a very prosperous career before it . The chapter was thereafter closed , and was followed by an excellent banquet , after vvhich the usual toasts were proposed and dul y honoured , and the companions separated after having spent a most enjoyable time .
