of the Grand and Supreme Rulers of the Order , he thanked them . They might be quite sure that every one of the Grand Officers of the Order vvould be only too pleased to do all in their power to promote its best interest and ensure its prosperity . The next toast vvas that of " The lntendant General , Deputy lntendant General , and the rest of the Grand

Officers of the Grand Conclave of Kent , Present and Past , " and , in putting it , the M . P . Sir Knight Wood , in reponse , assured them that so far as he possibly could he should endeavour to increase the

prosperity of the conclave and theOrder in Kent particularly . He then proceeded to propose the toast of "The M . P . S ., " and said from what he knew of the excellent vvork done by Sir Knight Penfold in the Craft and other Degrees of Freemasonry , they might rest assured that in him they had a ruler who would carry out the duties and ritual of the conclave in a perfect manner , and they might also

congratulate themselves upon having such a good Mason for a P . S . He asked them to drink Sir Knight Penfold ' s health , and wish him every prosperity and plenty of work . Sir Knight Penfold , in response , said their Grand Intendent had spoken of the " great interest" he , Sir Knight Penfold , took in Masonry ; that was quite right , he did so ; they all took great interest in it , which was proved by the fact of their taking up the higher grades of Masonry .

Red Cross Of Rome & Constantine.

As he had taken office , and the highest in the conclave , he should do the work attached to it ; it meant a little effort , a little vvill , and with that he felt sure that not only himself , but any aspirant to the chair he then occupied , could , vvith a little time and a little application , succeed in reaching it and do the vvork . He thought when he came to the conclave that the ritual was , somehow , heavy and hard , but he found that it vvas not so , and he trusted to do

it in such a manner as would meet vvith their approbation . He hoped to have some candidates during his year of office , and that they vvould be good ones and an honour to the Institution . The next toast vvas that of "Sir Knight Jolly , V . E ., and the rest of the Officers of the Conclave , " for which Sir Knight Jolly responded , and then the proceedings , which were most interesting and harmonious , were brought to a conclusion .

congratulate themselves upon having such a good Mason for a P .
