After the minutes of the previous lodge had been confirmed , Bro . S . S . T , Bright was passed as a F . C by the I . P . M ., Bro . J . VVood , the working tools being given by the S . W . Bro . John Todd was raised as a M . M . in due course by the W . M ., who also explained the tracing board and the tools . A candidate for initiation having been proposed , the brethren adjourned to the refreshment-room , and spent the remainder of the evening in harmony .
JERSEY . —Yarborough I Lodge ( No . 244 ) . —An emergency meeting of this ancient lodge was held on Wednesday , the 23 rd ult ., at the Masonic Temple , Stopfordroad . The reason of the meeting was to hear VV . Bro . James Terry , P . P . G . J . W . Herts and Secretary of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution , rehearse the ceremonies of consecration and installation , which he had consented to
perform at the request of several of the officers of the above lodge , while on a visit to the little island . The lodge was duly opened , and the R . W . P . G . M ,, Bro . Col . Malet deCateret , was received with thc usual honours . Bro . Terry then proceeded with the ceremony , most ably assisted by Bros . C . Naylor and Dowden . The latter brother , who is P . P . G . O ., was highly complimented by the presiding officer on his efficient rendering of the musical
programme . Any eulogy to Bro . Terry's proceedings is superfluous . Suffice it to say at refreshments , where there was a large number of brethren , he strongly advocated the province to support their P . G . M ., who intends to represent the province on behalf of the Boys' School , in June next , and was ably supported by the I . P . M ., W . Bro . Major du Jardin . The brethren separated after one of the grandest ceremonies witnessed in the province for years .

XV . Bro . J . Murray , as the representative of the Jordan
Lodge on the Committee of Petitions , replied , and noted the working of the Devon Masonic Educational Fund in the province , not as antagonistic to , but as auxiliary and supplementary of the great Masonic Institutions , all of which , he urged , should be well supported . The customary collection having been taken for the local Charity , the Tyler's toast was given , and thebrethren separated , after having spent a very agreeable and pleasant time of fraternal intercourse .
LIVERPOOL . —Dramatic Lodge ( No . 1609 ) . — A numerously attended meeting of the members of this flourishing and highly-influential lodge was held on Tuesday , the 22 nd ult ., at the Masonic Hall , and as this was the first gathering after the summer vacation the interest for the meeting was all the more pronounced . The annual election of VV . M . also took place on this occasion ; and all who were present seemed to take a peculiar pleasure in

M . was then proceeded with , and , as the result of the ballot , it was found that Bro . William Savage , J . W ., had been unanimously chosen to fill the highest position which it is in the power of the brethren to bestow . The VV . M . congratulated Bro . Savage on the honour which had been conferred upon him , and the latter
returned thanks for the unanimous vote which had placed him in so distinguished a position . Bro . J . B . McKenzie , P . M ., was unanimously re-elected Treasurers Bros . J . Reay and VV . Parker were selected as the auditors ; Bro . John Ballard was unanimously chosen to represent the Lodge on- the Masonic Hall Committee ; and Bros . J . Bell , P . M . ; J Atkinson , W . a letter of condolence to the widow of Bro . Nathan Green , a member of the Dramatic , whose death took place during the previous week , after a long and severe illness . M ., in connection with the Grand Lodge of England . Bro . Allpass acknowledged the toast in suitable terms referring to the pleasure it always gave him to attend the Dramatic Lodge ,. and expressing his great delight at the
prosperity wnich continued to attend its existence . The VV . M . also proposed " Good Health and Good Luck" to Bro . W . Constantine , one of the P . Ms , and founders of the Iodge , who was about to proceed to America on business connected with his dramatic profession . Bro . Constantine , who was evidently much affected thanked the brethren for their kind and fraternal wishes '
and expressed regret at parting from a lodge whose members had been so kind , friendly , and agreeable . The health of the W . M . and W . The business consisted in the raising of Bro . Waters to the 1 bird Degree . Notice having been given by Bro . Cumberland of some proposed alterations in the bye-laws , Bro . Whytehead presented , on behalf of Bro . Stead of the York Lodge , No . 23 G , a handsome framed chromo-lithograph of the city of York , lately published by that brother . A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Bro . Sttad , and the Secretary was ordered to convey the same by letter . Bro .
Cumberland presented a framed copy of Bro . Steven ' s Masonic map of England , and a large framed photograph of a rare engraving of York City . Bro . Pearson , Tyler , presented an old mezzotint engraving of Bro . Francis Drake , the author and reviver of the ancient Grand Lodge in York , in unusually good condition . TheW . M . read an extended series of notes made by him during a residence in Scotland for some weeks , and relating to Masonry in that
country . The notes were of great interest and were intended to describe the difference in the working of the Scotch and English lodges . The VV . M . commented , also , upon the ridiculously low fees and subscriptions , as tending to the introduction of a class of men who were likely to be a burden rather than a strength to the order . After the close of the lodge the members assembled at the festive board , when some capital speeches were made , and a most harmonious evening was spent .

UNITED PILGRIMS LODGE ( No . 507 ) . — This lodge met at the Surrey Masonic Hall , Camberwell , on Friday evening , the 25 th ult ., there being , amongst others , present : Bros . F . Thurston , W . M . ; H . M . Williams , S . W . ; C . N . Phillips , J . W . ; R . Poore , S . D . ; J . N . Bate , J . D . ; E . A . Francis , I . C ; James Stevens , P . M ., and Preceptor ; W . H . Chase , W . J . Newland , H . Bigg , VV . J . Richardson , S . Hubbard , and' O . L . Finch .
Lodge having been opened and the minutes read , Bro . Newland , as candidate , gave proofs , and was entrusted . The M . M . Degree was effectivel y rehearsed , and the lodge closed down . In the customary interval " entry drill " was practised . On resumption of labour Bro . Williams was elected W . M . for the ensuing week , and after some ordinary business the lodge was closed . The Sections of the First Lecture are to be worked in this lodge on Friday evening , the 22 nd inst .
WANDSWORTH LODGE ( No . 1044 ) . —The usual weekly meeting of this lodge was held on Tuesday , the 29 th ult ., at the East Hill Hotel , Wandsworth . The following brethren were present : Bros . M . efficiently rehearsed the ceremony ot raising . The Iodge being closed in the Second and Third Degrees , and Bro . Knipler being regularly elected W . M . for the ensuing week the lodge was closed in due form and adjourned .
STAR LODGE ( No . 1275 ) . —The weekl y meeting was held last Saturday , at the Five Bells , New Crossroad , Bro . Walter Martin , Secretary , in the chair . After the lodge had been opened in the Three Degrees , theW . M . worked the ceremony of initiation , Bro . Medcalf , P . M . 1671 , personating the candidate . The worlt was perfect , and learners in Freemasonry lose much by not seeing Bro .
Martin oftener in the chair . As by the bye-laws the installation ceremony had to be rehearsed , Bro . Martin vacated the chair to Bro . Andrews , Preceptor , when Bro . Penny , W . M . 1571 , was presented for the benefit of installation ( the only part omitted being the Board of Installed Masters ) . The W . M . then invested his officers in the usual manner . Bro . Andrew ' s rendering of the ritual
was much admired , particularly the charge delivered from the J . W . 's chair , which hegavein a most clear , impressive , and truly Masonic manner . Lodge on the Committee of Petitions , replied , and noted the working of the Devon Masonic Educational Fund in the province , not as antagonistic to , but as auxiliary and supplementary of the great Masonic Institutions , all of which , he urged , should be well supported . The customary collection having been taken for the local Charity , the Tyler's toast was given , and thebrethren separated , after having spent a very agreeable and pleasant time of fraternal intercourse .

M ., in connection with the Grand Lodge of England . Bro . Allpass acknowledged the toast in suitable terms referring to the pleasure it always gave him to attend the Dramatic Lodge ,. and expressing his great delight at the
prosperity wnich continued to attend its existence . The VV . M . also proposed " Good Health and Good Luck" to Bro . W . Constantine , one of the P . Ms , and founders of the Iodge , who was about to proceed to America on business connected with his dramatic profession . Bro . Constantine , who was evidently much affected thanked the brethren for their kind and fraternal wishes '
and expressed regret at parting from a lodge whose members had been so kind , friendly , and agreeable . The health of the W . M . and W . The business consisted in the raising of Bro . Waters to the 1 bird Degree . Notice having been given by Bro . Cumberland of some proposed alterations in the bye-laws , Bro . Whytehead presented , on behalf of Bro . Stead of the York Lodge , No . 23 G , a handsome framed chromo-lithograph of the city of York , lately published by that brother . A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Bro . Sttad , and the Secretary was ordered to convey the same by letter . Bro .
Cumberland presented a framed copy of Bro . Steven ' s Masonic map of England , and a large framed photograph of a rare engraving of York City . Bro . Pearson , Tyler , presented an old mezzotint engraving of Bro . Francis Drake , the author and reviver of the ancient Grand Lodge in York , in unusually good condition . TheW . M . read an extended series of notes made by him during a residence in Scotland for some weeks , and relating to Masonry in that
country . The notes were of great interest and were intended to describe the difference in the working of the Scotch and English lodges . The VV . M . commented , also , upon the ridiculously low fees and subscriptions , as tending to the introduction of a class of men who were likely to be a burden rather than a strength to the order . After the close of the lodge the members assembled at the festive board , when some capital speeches were made , and a most harmonious evening was spent .

UNITED PILGRIMS LODGE ( No . 507 ) . — This lodge met at the Surrey Masonic Hall , Camberwell , on Friday evening , the 25 th ult ., there being , amongst others , present : Bros . F . Thurston , W . M . ; H . M . Williams , S . W . ; C . N . Phillips , J . W . ; R . Poore , S . D . ; J . N . Bate , J . D . ; E . A . Francis , I . C ; James Stevens , P . M ., and Preceptor ; W . H . Chase , W . Lodge having been opened and the minutes read , Bro . Newland , as candidate , gave proofs , and was entrusted . The M . M . Degree was effectivel y rehearsed , and the lodge closed down . In the customary interval " entry drill " was practised . On resumption of labour Bro . Williams was elected W . M . for the ensuing week , and after some ordinary business the lodge was closed . The Sections of the First Lecture are to be worked in this lodge on Friday evening , the 22 nd inst .
WANDSWORTH LODGE ( No . 1044 ) . —The usual weekly meeting of this lodge was held on Tuesday , the 29 th ult ., at the East Hill Hotel , Wandsworth . The following brethren were present : Bros . M . efficiently rehearsed the ceremony ot raising . The Iodge being closed in the Second and Third Degrees , and Bro . Knipler being regularly elected W . M . for the ensuing week the lodge was closed in due form and adjourned .
STAR LODGE ( No . 1275 ) . —The weekl y meeting was held last Saturday , at the Five Bells , New Crossroad , Bro . Walter Martin , Secretary , in the chair . After the lodge had been opened in the Three Degrees , theW . M . worked the ceremony of initiation , Bro . Medcalf , P . M . 1671 , personating the candidate . The worlt was perfect , and learners in Freemasonry lose much by not seeing Bro .
Martin oftener in the chair . As by the bye-laws the installation ceremony had to be rehearsed , Bro . Martin vacated the chair to Bro . Andrews , Preceptor , when Bro . Penny , W . M . 1571 , was presented for the benefit of installation ( the only part omitted being the Board of Installed Masters ) . The W . M . then invested his officers in the usual manner . Bro . Andrew ' s rendering of the ritual
was much admired , particularly the charge delivered from the J . W . 's chair , which hegavein a most clear , impressive , and truly Masonic manner .
