In the evening the festival of the lodge was celebrated by a high tea at the Masonic Hall , Park Terrace , the VV . M ., Bro . John Deans , presiding . There were a number of ladies among those present at the tea . The vice-chairs were occupied by Bros , the Rev . J . J . Brown , S . vV ., and W . A . Priestly , J . W . A number of toasts were proposed , and several selections of music were given by Bros . las . Hudson , T . A . Simpson , C M . Wake , and W . A . O . Sutcliffe . The tables were tastefully decorated with plants and flowers .

FIDELITY LODGE ( No . 3 ) . —The usual weekly meeting of this lodge was held on Wednesday , the 2 ind ult ., at Bro . Silvester's , the Alfred , Roman-road , Barnsbury . Bro . R . Ross occupied the chair , supported by Bros . Guyer , Hansen , Gregory , Messer , Smith , Solomon , Dimsdale , Bleakley , VVilkes , and others . After the usual preliminaries , Bro . Guyer worked the ist Section of the First Lecture . The W . M . then rehearsed the ceremony of initiation , with Bro . Bleakley as candidate . The lodge having been opened in the Second and Third Degrees , and resumed to the

First Degree , a letter was read by Bro . Dimsdale , from Bro . E . Storr , P . M . 167 , accepting the invitation of the lodge to work the ceremony ot installation on the fourth Wednesday in November . Bros . Wilkes , 1744 , and Smith , 1044 , were unanimously elected joining members . Bro . Messer was elected W . M . lor the next meeting . Lodge was then closed , after which Bros . Smith , Guyer , Hansen , Messer , and Dimsdale gave several songs and pianoforte pieces as usual .

Thc lodge was opened in due form , and the minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed . The ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , Bro . Scattergood candidate . The lodge was opened in the Second Degree . Bro . Coleman having vacated the chair , Bro . Baker rehearsed the ceremony of installation . The lodge was then opened in the Third Degree , when Bro . Coleman was duly installed into thc chair of K . S . according to ancient custom . Thc brethren

having saluted the W . M . in the Three Degrees , Bro . Baker delivered the addresses in a very impressive manner . The lodge being resumed to the Second Degree , thc 1 st Section of the Lecture was worked by Bro . Baker , assisted by the bretiiren . The lodge was closed in the Second Degree . Bro . Dillon was elected VV . M . for the ensuing week , and the olficers were appointed in rotation . All Masonic business being ended , the lodge was closed .

Lodge was opened in die form , last meeting were read and confirmed . Lodge was advanced , and the ceremony of the Third Degree was ably worked , Bro . Boyd acting as candidate . This occupied the evening very profitably . Lodge was closed . The new quarters selected are very comfortable , and brethren are cordially invited to pay the lodge a visit on any Wednesday evening , when they may be sure of meeting the brethren of the lodge .

" In an interesting speech the reverend companion spoke of the deep interest taken by Comp . Taylor for many years in Freemasonry in general , and the great value placed on his assistance and advice ,

which had been of such advantage to the chapter since it was instituted some sixteen years ago . Comp . Taylor had now thrice held that high position , and they were one and all proud that they had been successful in retaining his services for yet another term . Bro . Park concluded by presenting the First Principal , in the name of the members , with a massive gold albert with R . A . appendage , which

bore the following inscription : " Presented to Comp . John Taylor , First Principal , by the members of Chapter Perseverance , No . 152 , as a mark of respect for valuable services rendered . Ross occupied the chair , supported by Bros . Guyer , Hansen , Gregory , Messer , Smith , Solomon , Dimsdale , Bleakley , VVilkes , and others . After the usual preliminaries , Bro . Guyer worked the ist Section of the First Lecture . The W . M . then rehearsed the ceremony of initiation , with Bro . Bleakley as candidate . The lodge having been opened in the Second and Third Degrees , and resumed to the

First Degree , a letter was read by Bro . Dimsdale , from Bro . E . Storr , P . M . 167 , accepting the invitation of the lodge to work the ceremony ot installation on the fourth Wednesday in November . Bros . LEITH . —Perseverance Chapter ( No . 152 ) . — The annual meeting of this chapter , on the occasion of the autumnal equinox , was held in the Trafalgar Hall on Thursday , the 23 rd ult . There was a good turn out of members , and , the chapter being opened in ample form , the following office bearers were duly installed by Comp . Turner , Past Principal : Comps . John Taylor , Z . ; D .

Mills , 2 nd Soj . ; A . L . Lundgreen , 3 rd Soj . ; W . Turner , Chancellor ; George M . Davidson , Director of Music ; R . Gilroy , Steward ; and A . Henderson , Janitor . The business of the chapter being overthe companions sat down

, to well-spread tables of cake , wine , fruit , & c . ; and , after the preliminary toasts , Comp . the Uev . _ James Park proposed "The Health of the M . E . First Principal . " In an interesting speech the reverend companion spoke of the deep interest taken by Comp . Taylor for many years in Freemasonry in general , and the great value placed on his assistance and advice ,

which had been of such advantage to the chapter since it was instituted some sixteen years ago . Comp . Taylor had now thrice held that high position , and they were one and all proud that they had been successful in retaining his services for yet another term . Bro . Park concluded by presenting the First Principal , in the name of the members , with a massive gold albert with R . A . appendage , which

bore the following inscription : " Presented to Comp . John Taylor , First Principal , by the members of Chapter Perseverance , No . 152 , as a mark of respect for valuable services rendered . Leith , 23 rd September , 1 SS 6 . " Comp . Taylor , in accepting the gift , made a feeling speech , remarking on the wonderful prosperity of Royal

Arch Masonry in Leith , and the satisfactory condition of the funds , & c , of the lodge . The evening was enlivened by some excellent singing by Comps . VV . H . Darling , Robert Law , W . D . Johnson , and others , and altogether one of the most enjoyable meetings in connection with Royal Arch Masonry in Leith was brought to a close .
