All Saints Lodge , No . 1716 . On Thursday , the 24 th ult ., the installation of Bro . Charles Richard Allen as W . M . of the above lodge took place at the offices of the Poplar District Board of Works , 117 , High-street , Poplar . The ceremony of installation was ably performed by Bro . J . K . Coleman , P . M , -, P . Z ., Bro . L . Potts , P . M ., acting as D . C . Bro . Allen , as W . M ., duly invested his officers for the ensuing year as follows : Bros . J . C Carpenter , S . W . ; E . Jones , J . W . ; W . K . Farnfield , P . M ., Treas . ; | . Y . Mosey , Sec ; Win . Bland ,

S . D . ; Whitlock , J . D . ; W . S . Duff , I . G . ; T . F . Noakes , Org . ; W . Fonnan , D . of C . ; Butler , Wiseman , Made-ley , and Palmer , Stwds . ; and C Patrick , Tyler . The report of the Audit Committee showed that the finances of the lodge were in a very satisfactory condition , there being a substantial balance in hand of assets over liabilities , and also a balance of £ jS to the credit of the Benevolent Fund . Hearty votes of thanks were accorded to Bros . Coleman and Potts for their services at the installation , and the lodge being closed , the members repaired to the Holborn Restaurant , where the installation banquet was provided .

1 he popularity of the lodge in general , and the new W . M . in particular , was amply testified to by the large number of brethren that assembled at this West-end Elysium . Among the visitors we noticed Bros . Ti ' ou , P . A . G . P . Eng . ; J . M . McLeod , P . P . G . W . Derbyshire , Sec . R . M . I . B . ; O . Papworth , P . P . G . Sec . Cambs . ; Light , P . M ., P . P . G . Org . Kent ; ) . W . Moorman , P . M . 1981 , P . P . A . G . D . C . Surrey ; O . Cooper , P . M . 211 ; Duck , P . M ., Sec . SoS ; W . R . Cooper , W . M . 1050 ; | . G . Turner , W . M . 299 ; J . P . Parkes , P . M . ; W . Boyce , P . M . 1679 ; Williams , P . M . SoS ; Butcher , 1 SS 4 ; Bird , 134 ; Ivey , 14 S 9 ; and many others .

fhe menu provided was one which did credit to the restaurant , and the brethren seemed to vie with each other in sounding its praises . At the conclusion ot the feast , the W . M . suitably proposed the usual loyal toasts" The Queen and the Craft" and " H . R . H . the Prince of Wales " —which were loyally honoured with true Masonic feeling . The W . M . next proposed "The Pro G . M ., the Deputy G . M ., and the rest of the Grand Officers , Present and Past , " who , he said , as the toast list recorded— " you all know as honourable men . "

Bro . Tijou , P . A . G . P ., responded , and thanked the brethren for the hearty welcome they had extended to him as a Grand Lodge Officer . He always enjoyed being with the All Saints , and the manner they held up the dignity of Masonic working and their efforts on behalf of the Charities were a credit to liast London . Bro . F . J . Waterson , I . P . M ., then proposed "The Health of the W . M . " He said he had the most important toast of the evening entrusted to him , but , as one could

not paint the rose nor decorate the lily , so neither could he extol the numerous good qualities of their W . M . Bro . Allen had rendered good and valuable service to the lodge , and was moreover Preceptor to the lodge of instruction , so that all knew that during his year of office a Masonic treat was in store for them . It was said that " Happy is the bride that the sun shines upon , " and Bro . Allen had that day entered into the Master's chair in the full sunshine of hearty good wishes from all the brethren , and he trusted that his Mastership would be crowned with every prosperity and success .

Bro . Allen thanked the brethren for the enthusiastic manner in which they had received the toast . He could assure them that nothing should be wanting on his part to uphold the dignity of the lodge , and he appealed to the oflicers and brethren to co-operate with him in so doing . Bro . Allen then proposed "The Health of the I . P . M ., " and took the opportunity of presenting to Bro . F . Waterson a Past Master ' s collar , with the silver jewel of office , and a gold Past Master's jewel , as a token of esteem from the brethren . Bro . Waterson responded in a felicitous speech , and warmly thanked the brethren for the honour conferred .

The VV . M . proposed the toast of " The Masonic Charities , " and intimated that it would be his pleasing duty to serve as a Steward at both the Old Peopli * -. and the Boys ' Festivals during his term of office . The toast was responded to by Bro . J . M . Method , Sec . R . M . I . B ., in a most powerful and impressive speech , and there can be no doubt that the effect of his appeal will be that the W . M . ' s list at the next Festival will do credit to the benevolent instincts of the members of the lodge .

. "Ihe Initiate" was responded to by Bro . C . S . Mundy . Bro . J . Kemp Coleman replied to the toast of "The Installing Master . " "The Visitors" was responded to by Bros . J . Light , P . M ., P . P . G . O . Kent , and Papworth , P . M ., P . P . G . Sec . Cambs . Bro . L . Potts responded for " The Past Masters , " and Bro . J . Y . . Mosey for "The Treasurer , Secretary , and Officers . " The Tyler ' s toast brought to a termination-one of the most successful banquets of the lodge . — ¦

Royal Hanover Lodge , No . 1777 . The installation meeting of this well known Middlesex lodge was held at the Town Hall , Twickenham , on the 26 th ult ., when a goodly number of members and visitors attended to witness the installation of Bro . Horace Brooks Marshall , jun ., M . A ., J . P ., as VV . Master . It may be interesting to note that Bro . Marshall , jun ., has in a truly Masonic spirit declined several offers of a quicker road to the chair in ot . ier lodges , preferring to proceed by regular gradation through the various offices in this his mother lodge . The brethren present on the interesting occasion included Bros . J . Battams , VV . M .: W . J . Lee , I . P . M . ; II . B . Marshall , jun ., S . VV . ; | . Hutchinson , J . W . j

The lodge was formally opened , and the Audit repoit adopted . A notice of motion by Bro . R . R . Johnston , P . M ., was considered and unanimously agreed to , voting the sum of , £ 35 to be placed on the list of Bro . G . Clark , jun ., P . M ., the Steward representing thc lodge at the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution Festival in February , iS ( j 6 . Bro . G . Clark , jun ., P . 1 V 1 ., Treas ., then took the chair and in a very able manner installed Bro . Horace Brooks Marshall , jun ., M . A ., J . P ., as W . Master for the ensuing year .

Battams , with a Past Master ' s jewel in recognition of services rendered during the past year , and the gift was duly acknowledged .

The lodge was closed , and a banquet was subsequently served at the King ' s Head , Twickenham , under the genial superintendence of the worthy host , Bro . Barton . The loyal toasts were brielly given lrom the chair , after which The VV . M . gave "The Grand ( Jilicors , " coupling with it the name of his father , Bro . H . B . Marshall , P . G . Treas . He thought that was the lirst time he had had the honour and privilege of proposing his father's health in public , altnough he had often wished it in private , and should long continue to dj so .

Bro . H . B . Marshall , P . G . Treas ., said he should lirst like to say how pleased and proud he was to see hia son in the chair . It was nine years since he hail the privilege and pleasure of initiating his son into Masonry . It had previously been his pride and pleasure to teach him that great principle of Charity , of which they were all so proud

M . suitably proposed the usual loyal toasts" The Queen and the Craft" and " H . R . H . the Prince of Wales " —which were loyally honoured with true Masonic feeling . The W . M . next proposed "The Pro G .
