Bro . A . Caink , P . M . 105 C , had worked with and beside the W . M . for upwards of 30 years . His esteem for him continually increased , and he congratulated the lodge on having such a Master . The W . M . proposed " The Past Masters , " all seven of whom were present , in felicitous terms . Bro . Westley , P . M ., D . C , said that the Past Masters had worked in the past , and would do the same in the future . He looked forward to theic meetings alsvays ; happiness was ever to be found there .

Z . ; and T . Farthing , P . Z . The minutes of the previous meeting having been read and confirmed , the following elections took place : Comps . H . Clemow , P . Z ., M . E . Z . ; W . Farrington , H . ;

T . Phillips , J . ; Major Walls , S . E . ; J . W . Gaze , P . Z ., Treas . ; and J . Gilbert , Janitor . The report of the Audit Committee was received and adopted . A Past Principal ' s jewel was voted to Comp . R . Evens , M . E . Z ., and a vote of thanks passed to him . The name of a joining member was proposed and seconded . The M . E . Z . proposed , in fluent terms , " The Health of the First Principal elect . " He said that Comp . H . Clemow was the first exaltee of No . 15 S 9 and a Past Principal of it for some years . _ He was sure that they would all hail with pleasure his second occupancy of the chair , and would look forward to a very pleasant year under his rule . He had been very punctual in his attendance , and his interest had never abated . He

regretted that other Principals who had left them had not found it convenient to do the like suit and service . He would also couple with the toast the name of the Second Principal elect , Comp . W . Farrington . This pledge was received with acclamation . Comps . Clemow and Farrington responded . "The Past Principals , " coupled with the names of Comps . T . Farthing and W . E . Farrington , terminated the proceedings .

The installation meeting of the above excellent lodge took place on Tuesday , the 23 rd ult ., at the King William the Fourth Hotel , Trafalgar-road , East Greenwich , and was honoured by the presence of Bro . the Rev . H . Cummings , M . A ., P . D . P . G . M ., P . G . Chap . Eng ., who , in his own inimitable manner , performed the ceremony of installation .

The lodge was opened by Bro . G . Burney , sen ., W . M ., and after the minutes of the previous meeting had been confirmed , the ballot was taken for Bros . C . M . Challender , P . M . 323 , P . P . G . S . W . Isle of Man , and T . Heaps , P . M . 309 , and both cases proved unanimous . Bro . Cummings then assumed the chair , and the W . M . elect , Bro . A . H . Batemah , P . M . 309 , P . P . G . M . O ., having been presented , was duly installed , proclaimed , and saluted . He invested his officers as follows : Bros . Challender , P . M ., & c , S . W . ; W . J . Huntley , J . Audit Committee ' s report was received and adopted , and the lodge was closed . The banquet was served in the handsome assembly room of the hotel , under the direct supervision of Bro . Burney , and was all the most fastidious feeder could desire , while the wines were as cool and delicious as they were " Burney . " Among other brethren present were Bros . H . W . Partridge , P . I he usual loyal and Grand Mark Lodge toasts were drunk most heartily . In proposing the toast of " The Right Hon . the Earl of Euston , Pro G . M . ; the Right Hon . Viscount Dungarvan , Dep . G . M . ; and the rest of the Grand Officers , Present and Past , " the W . M . said they were honoured that night by the presence of a certain Past Grand Officer , who was anxious not to miss his train , and who had a long way to go . He alluded , as they were all aware , to their esteemed P . D . G . M ., Bro . Cummings , and those who had attended the recent meeting of the Prov . Grand Mark

Lodge of Kent would know how deeply his retiring from the proud position of D . P . G . M . ot that province was regretted by every member of P . G . Lodge present , and he would venture to say that that regret was not confined to P . G . Lodge , but to every member of every lodge in the province . Their distinguished brother was not only P . D . P . G . M ., but a P . G . C of the G . Mark Ledge of England , while in his private capacity he was one of the best men in the world . T he toast was drunk in bumpers and amid much enthusiasm .

Bro . Cummings , on rising to respond , was loudly cheered . He said he certainly did not expect to have to respond to such an important toast , although it was very true that he had the honour of being a P . G . Officer of the G . Mark Lodge of England . It was to him a greater honour , if possible , to have occupied the proud position he had held in the Prov . G . Mark Ledge tf Kent , and also to know that his efforts for the prosperity of the Degree were appreciated by the Mark Masons of the province . When , in 1 SS 7 , he was placed in the office ot D . G . M . of the Province of Kent , he felt the responsibilities tne

or position , and determined that , as many others whom he had been associated with in the woik had dene , no amount of money , time , or energy should be considered wasted that was spent for Ihe interest of the Order , and he could only say that his connection with the work had been a continual feast of Masonic love and unity . He then referred K » c ° nsecration of Ihe lodge in 1 SS 4 , when he did the work , and also installed their nrst Master , Bro , Dr . Ralph Gooding , and concluded by saying that at any time that he could do any service for the happiness of the brethren or the success of the lodge , that service was at their disposal .

Bro . Cummings then left amid the " Hearty good wishes " of every brother present . J The W . M . replied at length to the toast of his health , and predicted a long and useful career for the lodge and the progress of the Order in the borough of Several other toasts were honoured , and a pleasant and enjoyable evening followed the labours of the day .

W . ; Tuckfield , J . W . ; Carlstrom , Preceptor ; Stutfield , Sec . ; Farndell , S . D . ; Weller , J . D . ; Place , I . G . ; Beauchamp , Haywood , Markland , Schott , Sellick , Sleep , and Wright . The lodge was opened in due form , and the minutes of the last meeting were read

and confirmed . The ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , Bro . Sleep being the candidate . The lodge was opened in the Second Degree , and the ceremony of passing was rehearsed , Bro . Haywood , who had previously answered the usual questions and been entrusted , being the candidate . The lodge was resumed to the First Degree . Bro . Facey was elected W . M . for the next meeting . After the third rising , the lodge was dosed .

In accordance with ancient custom , the 15 Sections will be worked on Good Friday , commencing at 6 . 30 p . m .

Isaac , of the Barnato Lodge , was elected a joining member , and dues were collected . At the second rising , Bro . H . Raphael , S . W ., was elected W . M . for the ensuing week , who appointed

his officers in rotation . The W . M . rose for the third time , when the election of officers took place , and resulted in the re-election of Bro . J . Paul as Preceptor ; J . Thorn , P . M ., Asst . Preceptor ; Geo . Hill , P . M ., Treas . ; W . E . Willby , P . M ., and T . W . Smale , P . M ., joint Secretaries ; and W . Proctor , P . M ., Tyler . A vote of thanks to the W . CITADEL LODGE , No . 1 S 97 . The ceremonies of consecration and installation were rehearsed by Bro . James Terry , P . G . S . B ., P . P . S . G . W . Norths and Hunts , P . M . 22 S , 127 S , 13 ( 06 . and Sec . R . M . B . I ., on Friday , the 19 th ult ., at the above lodge held at the Farleigh Hotel , Amhurst-road , Stoke Newington ( near West Hackney Church ) . The musical arrangements were under the direction of Bro . F . W . Bishop , 105 C 0 . Bro . Terry having assumed the chair was ably supported by the officers of the lodge Bros . F . Dunstan

The lodge having been opened , the opening hymn was sung with good effect . Bro . Terry then addressed the brethren in an oration upon the beauties , obligations , and duties developing upon the members of the Craft in a very eloquent manner , which made a deep impression upon the brethren assembled . The ceremony was afterwards carried through in a very impressive manner . After the dedication and constitution Bro . G . Clark was installed by Bro . Terry , who invested his officers as follows : Bros .

A . Rusby . S . W . ; Calley , J . W . ; Bird , Treas . ; H . Willsmer , Sec ; Jeanes , S . D . ; Feistel , J . D . ; Matthews , I . G . ; and F . _ W . Bishop , Org . _ The finishing charges were given by Bro . Terry in his well-known impressive style which left nothing to be desired , and was of great instruction to the brethren assembled . A very hearty vote of thanks was awarded Bro . Terry for his kindness in attending and contributing to the pleasure and instruction of the members , which Bro . Terry acknowledged in a very happy speech , quite in his old style , after which the lodge was closed .

A re-union afterwards took p lace , at which several brethren contributed to the evening ' s enj oyment by giving recitations , notable among whom were Bros . Terry , Feistel , Bird , Peters , and other genial members of the Craft . Taken altogether the evening was a decided sucoess , and reflects great credit upon its managers , the total number present being close upon 50 .

STAR CHAPTER , No . 1275 . The usual weekly meeting was held at the Stirling Castle Hotel , Church-street , Camberwell , S . E ., on Friday , the zCth ult . Present : Comps . J . Dunn M . E . Z . ; Barr , H . ; Plant , J . ; Thos . Grummant , P . Z ., Preceptor ; C . H . Stone , P . Z ., S . E . ; Cass , S . N . ; Lewis , P . S . ; Hardman , Benedetti , Hurdell , Smith , Eckersall , and Addington . The minutes of the last convocation were read and confirmed . ' The ceremony of exaltation was rehearsed , Comp . H . Hardman personating the candidate . Comp . C Plant , was elected M . E . Z . for the next meeting . The chapter was then closed .

The annual supper will take place at the Surrey Masonic Hall on Wednesday , the 7 th inst ., at 7 p . m ., under the presidency of Comp . Wm . Eckersall , M . E . Z . 1275 . BRO . EDWARD SPOONER , P . M . We regret to announce the death of Bro . Spooner , in his 83 rd year . The sad event occurred at his residence , Haldon-road , Wandsworth , on Saturday , the 20 th ult ., after having been confined to the house for two years . Bro . Spooner was initiated in the Jordan Lodge , No . 201 , on the 14 th May , 1 S 46 . In 1864 , he helped

to found the Wandsworth Lodge , No . 1044 , of which he was subsequently elected W . M ., while in 1872 he was a founder of Earl Spencer Lodge , No . 1420 , and was one of its Past Masters and Treasurer at the time of his death . He was also a Royal Arch Mason , having been exalted in the Mount Zion Chapter , No . 169 , on the 23 rd January , 1854 , and was elected an honorary member on the 12 th December , 1881 . He was also a Life Governor of all our three Institutions .

BRO . JACOB NORTON . At the time of going to press we learn with great regret of the death of Bro . Jacob Norton , who died at Boston , U . S . A ., on Friday , the 19 th ult ., aged 83 years .

BRO . SIR HENRY IRVING has intimated to Mr . Frink Dethridge , the Vestry Cleikof Paddington , that he will unveil the Siddons Memorial at 12 o ' clock noon on the 1 st June .

M . said they were honoured that night by the presence of a certain Past Grand Officer , who was anxious not to miss his train , and who had a long way to go . He alluded , as they were all aware , to their esteemed P . D . G . M ., Bro . Cummings , and those who had attended the recent meeting of the Prov . Grand Mark

Lodge of Kent would know how deeply his retiring from the proud position of D . P . G . M . ot that province was regretted by every member of P . G . Lodge present , and he would venture to say that that regret was not confined to P . G . Lodge , but to every member of every lodge in the province . Their distinguished brother was not only P . D . P . G . M ., but a P . G . C of the G . Mark Ledge of England , while in his private capacity he was one of the best men in the world . T he toast was drunk in bumpers and amid much enthusiasm .

Bro . Cummings , on rising to respond , was loudly cheered . He said he certainly did not expect to have to respond to such an important toast , although it was very true that he had the honour of being a P . G . Officer of the G . Mark Lodge of England . It was to him a greater honour , if possible , to have occupied the proud position he had held in the Prov . G . Mark Ledge tf Kent , and also to know that his efforts for the prosperity of the Degree were appreciated by the Mark Masons of the province . When , in 1 SS 7 , he was placed in the office ot D . G . M . of the Province of Kent , he felt the responsibilities tne

or position , and determined that , as many others whom he had been associated with in the woik had dene , no amount of money , time , or energy should be considered wasted that was spent for Ihe interest of the Order , and he could only say that his connection with the work had been a continual feast of Masonic love and unity . He then referred K » c ° nsecration of Ihe lodge in 1 SS 4 , when he did the work , and also installed their nrst Master , Bro , Dr . Ralph Gooding , and concluded by saying that at any time that he could do any service for the happiness of the brethren or the success of the lodge , that service was at their disposal .

Bro . Cummings then left amid the " Hearty good wishes " of every brother present . J The W . M . replied at length to the toast of his health , and predicted a long and useful career for the lodge and the progress of the Order in the borough of Several other toasts were honoured , and a pleasant and enjoyable evening followed the labours of the day .

The lodge having been opened , the opening hymn was sung with good effect . Bro . Terry then addressed the brethren in an oration upon the beauties , obligations , and duties developing upon the members of the Craft in a very eloquent manner , which made a deep impression upon the brethren assembled . The ceremony was afterwards carried through in a very impressive manner . After the dedication and constitution Bro . G . Clark was installed by Bro . Terry , who invested his officers as follows : Bros .

Bishop , Org . _ The finishing charges were given by Bro . Terry in his well-known impressive style which left nothing to be desired , and was of great instruction to the brethren assembled . A very hearty vote of thanks was awarded Bro . Terry for his kindness in attending and contributing to the pleasure and instruction of the members , which Bro . Terry acknowledged in a very happy speech , quite in his old style , after which the lodge was closed .

A re-union afterwards took p lace , at which several brethren contributed to the evening ' s enj oyment by giving recitations , notable among whom were Bros . Terry , Feistel , Bird , Peters , and other genial members of the Craft . Taken altogether the evening was a decided sucoess , and reflects great credit upon its managers , the total number present being close upon 50 .

BRO . EDWARD SPOONER , P . M . We regret to announce the death of Bro . Spooner , in his 83 rd year . The sad event occurred at his residence , Haldon-road , Wandsworth , on Saturday , the 20 th ult ., after having been confined to the house for two years . Bro . Spooner was initiated in the Jordan Lodge , No . 201 , on the 14 th May , 1 S 46 . In 1864 , he helped

to found the Wandsworth Lodge , No . 1044 , of which he was subsequently elected W . M ., while in 1872 he was a founder of Earl Spencer Lodge , No . 1420 , and was one of its Past Masters and Treasurer at the time of his death . He was also a Royal Arch Mason , having been exalted in the Mount Zion Chapter , No . 169 , on the 23 rd January , 1854 , and was elected an honorary member on the 12 th December , 1881 . He was also a Life Governor of all our three Institutions .

BRO . JACOB NORTON . At the time of going to press we learn with great regret of the death of Bro . Jacob Norton , who died at Boston , U . S . A ., on Friday , the 19 th ult ., aged 83 years .

BRO . SIR HENRY IRVING has intimated to Mr . Frink Dethridge , the Vestry Cleikof Paddington , that he will unveil the Siddons Memorial at 12 o ' clock noon on the 1 st June .
