An excellent banquet was subsequently paitaken eif , and after the usual loyal and Masonic toasts , " The Health of the Installing Principal , Comp . Bowes , " was corelially drunk .

Altogether the gathering was most successful and enjoyable in the highest elegree . Hearty congratulations were given from lodges in the province of Yorkshiie , and from the Sutcliffe Loelge , 188 . The S . W ., Bro . Charles Smyth , in

appropriate terms referred to the gieat zeal and elistinguisheel exertions of the R . W . the Prov . G . M ., Bro . John Sutcliffe , both as regardeel the great charities of thc Orelcr and Masonry in general , as also to the esteem ami respect in which he was very justly held throughout the province , and proposeil that Bro . Sutcliffe be invited to accept , and that the loelge elect him as an honorary member of the St . Wilfrid ' s

Lodge . The motion , having been seconded by the M . O ., Bro . Frederic Higgins , being put from the chair , met with evciy Masonic token of heartiness , and carried unanimously . Bro . Sutcliffe said that the honorary membership which thc loelge had so cordially offered to him was an honour which he felt great pleasure in accepting . He was satisfied that the Masonic zeal and ability displayed

by the brethren who had formed the new lodge was a sufficient guarantee that Masonry in principle as also in practice was safe in their keeping . Seven brethren of the Hamilton and Lindsey Craft Lodges were propeiseel for advancement , after which the lodge was duly

closed . Thc brethren adjourned to the ante-room , where refreshment hail been kindly provided by thc W . M ., Bre ) . Galland . The P . G . M . notified his intention of holding a provincial loelge at Alford during the ensuing month , when the consecration of the new lodge would be proceeded with .

r I he Prov . Grand Master having notified his intention to holel his provincial lodge within a short time , under the auspices of this lodge , thc W . M . was desirous of advancing all the canelielatcs on proposition , in order that they might be qualified to attend this provincial meeting ; accorelingly a Lodge of Emergency was helel on the 8 th October last . Bro . Bv croft being in attentlancc , was

advanced to thc honourable elegree by thc W . M ., Bro . Galland , with complete ceremony , and in an able manner . Bro . Bycroft was eluly investeel as I . G . by the W . M . Thc ballot was then taken for Bro . C Mason , anel , being approveel , he was also advanced to this honourable elegree .

afterwards sat down to tea a la fourchette under the presidency of the M . P . S ., when all the toasts were duly honoured , and with songs and recitations a most enjoyable evening was spent . This meeting was a notable one , in as much as it was the return visit of the other two Yorkshire Conclaves to the Sheffield Conclave , thc latter having taken part in the consecration of the Hull and York

Conclaves . Unanimity in the Red Cross Order is proverbial—but that is not all that is required . We like this Yorkshiie plan , and it once note evinces the earnestness with which Yoikshiremcn enter into every undertaking , fol when we recall to mind the vast extent of their county we sec at once that this exchange of visits is net exactly like

" going next door . " In our opinion this reciprocity of hospitality by thc Yorkshire Conclaves is a move in the right direction , and we hope their example may be followed in each and every division—nothing will el 0 more to increase and keep up the interest in any Order than where thc spirit of emulation has thus ( with ihe entente cordialc ) fair play .

An Ashayana of this Order , pursuant to arraugment , was held at thc residence of one of the Censors , on the 18 th inst ., under the presielency of one eif the Sponsors . After the minutes of the last meeting had been reael anil

confirmed , thc Ashayana was openeel in the First Degree , anil successively resumed in the Seventh , Sixth , Fifthi anil Fourth Degrees , the ceremonies of which wcre recited and approved . Thc Ashayana then went into Committee of Relegation and worked that ceremony , thc Sponsol signifying his approval of the same . The Ceremony of

Perfection , was , under reservation , considers ! and authorised . The form of Provincial Precept was submitted for discussion . The third , second anel first degrees were referred lo the ritual committee for modification . It wa » ordered that a further Ashayana be held in the Metropolitan district onjTIiurselay , the 22111 ! November next , in full costume . After which thc Ashayana dispersed .

Lodge . The motion , having been seconded by the M . O ., Bro . Frederic Higgins , being put from the chair , met with evciy Masonic token of heartiness , and carried unanimously . Bro . Sutcliffe said that the honorary membership which thc loelge had so cordially offered to him was an honour which he felt great pleasure in accepting . He was satisfied that the Masonic zeal and ability displayed

by the brethren who had formed the new lodge was a sufficient guarantee that Masonry in principle as also in practice was safe in their keeping . Seven brethren of the Hamilton and Lindsey Craft Lodges were propeiseel for advancement , after which the lodge was duly

This meeting was a notable one , in as much as it was the return visit of the other two Yorkshire Conclaves to the Sheffield Conclave , thc latter having taken part in the consecration of the Hull and York

Conclaves . Unanimity in the Red Cross Order is proverbial—but that is not all that is required . We like this Yorkshiie plan , and it once note evinces the earnestness with which Yoikshiremcn enter into every undertaking , fol when we recall to mind the vast extent of their county we sec at once that this exchange of visits is net exactly like

" going next door . " In our opinion this reciprocity of hospitality by thc Yorkshire Conclaves is a move in the right direction , and we hope their example may be followed in each and every division—nothing will el 0 more to increase and keep up the interest in any Order than where thc spirit of emulation has thus ( with ihe entente cordialc ) fair play .

An Ashayana of this Order , pursuant to arraugment , was held at thc residence of one of the Censors , on the 18 th inst ., under the presielency of one eif the Sponsors . After the minutes of the last meeting had been reael anil

confirmed , thc Ashayana was openeel in the First Degree , anil successively resumed in the Seventh , Sixth , Fifthi anil Fourth Degrees , the ceremonies of which wcre recited and approved . Thc Ashayana then went into Committee of Relegation and worked that ceremony , thc Sponsol signifying his approval of the same . The Ceremony of

Perfection , was , under reservation , considers ! and authorised . The form of Provincial Precept was submitted for discussion . The third , second anel first degrees were referred lo the ritual committee for modification . It wa » ordered that a further Ashayana be held in the Metropolitan district onjTIiurselay , the 22111 ! November next , in full costume . After which thc Ashayana dispersed .
