our Bro . Snape has entirely recovered through the gracious mercy of the G . A . O . T . U . During ourbrother ' s protracted illness , Bro . A . B . Wimpory still continued the important duties of W . M ., and thus extendedhis tenure of office from 12 to iS months , and it is satisfactory to note that the brethren so far appreciated Bro . Wimpory ' s extra service as to present him , in addition to the usual collar and P . M . ' s , silver jewel with a gold jewel also . After the
usual preliminaries the W . M . elect was presented to the Installing Master , Bro . A . B . Wimpory , and with all due rite and ceremony inducted into the chair of K . M ., and to the brethren by Bro . A . Turner , P . M . Bro . Williamson then said he felt great pleasure in
entrusting to the care of the W . M . a piano , which had been purchased by subscriptions from the brethren of the lodge , solicited and obtained through the exertions of Bros . P . Ms . Morrison and Wimpory . He begged on behalf of the lodge to tender to those brethren his warmest thanks , and likewise to Bros . Pettitt and Campbell for their kind advice and assistance over the purchasing of the piano . The Worshipful Master , referring to the statement of
accounts , said he held a proof of the balance-sheet in his hand , and was happy to inform the brethren that the deb t which had so long hampered their movements was now entirely removed , their only liability being , £ 4 gs . id ., and their assets nearly £ 500 . Bro . E . G . Hughes , P . M ., read a report of the Executive Committee , which stated that the money borrowed for clearing off the debt in connection
with the purchase of their present abode , & c , would soon be paid , and moved that the best thanks of the Committee be tendered to Bro . Wimpory , P . M ., for his untiring exertions in paying off the amount . The S . W . proposed and the J . W . seconded a vote of thanks to the Executive Committee for their arduous labours . TheW . M ., S . W ., J . W ., Treas ., Sec , Bros . P . Ms . Morrison and Turner , and Bros . Davidson and Clayton were appointed
members of the Executive Committee foi the ensuing 12 months . Bro . Wimpory having ; been appointed to represent the Iodge at the Charity Committees , " Hearty good wishes " were expressed and the lodge was closed , the brethren subsequently sitting down to dinner , after which the usual toasts were honoured . In response to that of "The R . W . Prov . G . M ., Bro . Col . Le Gendre N . Starkie ; the V . W . Deputy Prov . G . M .,
Bro . Geo . Mellor ; and the Prov . Grand Officers , Present and Past , " Bro . J . J . Meakin , Prov . G . S . D ., said he presumed it was the duty of the senior Prov . Grand Officers to respond to this toast , and in sincerely thanking the W . M . for his kind expressions of feeling towards the R . W . Prov . G . M ., he ( Bro . Meakin ) would take care on the first opportunity of conveying those sentiments to Col . Starkie . Bro . Meakin continuing said he was particularly pleased
to be present that day and to see his friend Bro . Snape installed into the position which he now occupied , and to congratulate him warmly on having recovered from his long and serious illness . Bro . Wimpory in proposing " The Health of theW . M . " said that it was his peculiar privilege and pleasure to ' propose what he considered ( with all due deference to the Prov . Grand Officers ) the toast of the evening . Reference
had been made to the long illness of the W . M ., which had obliged the lodge to postpone the usual installation meeting , and many of the brethren were aware their present S . W ., Bro . Cooper , was scon afterwards afflicted with an illness , which obliged him to absent himself from business , and necessarily from the Iodge , and it was therefore a time of deep anxiety to him ( Bro . Wimpory ) and others , during several months , to know their future W . M . and S . W . were
prostrated by illness from which there was no telling when or whether they would recover . He congratulated both on their restoration to health and called upon the brethren to rise and drink to their W . M . in a bumper . When the enthusiasm had subsided Bro . J . Snape rose and delivered an exhaustive speech , during which he thanked the brethren for their reception of the toast , and Bto . Wimpory for his flattering remarks . The VV . M .
also expressed his gratitude to the G . A . O . T . U . for his recovery , and to Bro . Dr . Braddon for the attention and skill he had shown him during his long illness . He also thanked those brethren and friends for their kind enquiries , presents , and many acts of kindness rendered to him during that memorable period , and expressed to Bro . Cooper , S . W ., the great pleasure he felt in seeing him in
his present position after his illness , and referred lo his ( Bro . Cooper ' s ) kind consideration when asked if he would take the Worshipful Master ' s chair , and replying he thought they had better wait until Bro . Snape got well , as it would give him ( Bro . Cooper ) more pleasure to serve as S . W . under him than to occupy that position himself-Several other toasts were proposed and responded to and a very pleasant evening was spent .

lodge had paid him in electing him an honorary member of the lodge ; and he was much pleased to see so large a lodge for Bro . Tonge's installation . He had never seen such a Board of Installed Masters as were assembled , there being no less than 22 , being equal to any provincial meeting . The lodge was also to be congratulated on the number of Past Masters and old Masters who regularly attended
the meetings , who were always ready to give advice and promote the interests of Masonry . He believed there was a prosperous future for the Pelham Pillar Lodge . Bro . Major Locock also responded . Bro . Haddelsey , P . M ., responded for "The Provincial Grand Officers . " The Worshipful Master proposed " The Board of
Installed Masters , saying he was impressed with the ceremony through which he had passed , and he had to thank Bro . Copeland for the manner in which he had performed it , and also the 22 Installed Masters for their assistance . He coupled with the toast the name of Bro . Copeland , who responded in becoming terms and then proposed the toast of "The Retiring Master , " in whose honour the banquet
was given . He had served the Pelham Pillar Lodge during the past year well ; he was a hard-working Master , and had conducted the business second to no other preceding Master . Thebrethren gave him due honour , and hoped he would live long to enjoy the honour lie had gained .
Bro . Hewson , thc I . P . M ., responded in a feeling manner , and he then proposed " The Health of Bro . Tonge , the W . M ., " in which he paid that brother a high compliment on his elevation . Other toasts having been honoured , the Tyler ' s toast closed the proceedings of a very successful gathering .

TheW . M ., S . members of the Executive Committee foi the ensuing 12 months .
