Turner , for his able assistance as W . M . of the lodge for the second time .

BARNET . —Gladsmuir Lodge ( No . 1385 ) . —The last regular meeting before the summer recess was held at the Red Lion Hotel , on Friday , the 26 th ult . Bro . T . H . Martin , W . should be in a position to attend Provincial Grand Lodge , which is to be held at the Prov . Grand Master ' s seat , at Easton Lodge , under the banner of the Rosslyn Lodge . Bro . Cooper thanked the brethren for their letter of condolence , received by him on behalf of the family of the late Bro . Gustavus Pery , who lost his life by the foundering of the steamship Cuseo a short time ago . Bro . Reakes ,

through illness , vvas unable to be present to be raised . After " Hearty good wishes" the lodge was closed , and the brethren adjourned to banquet . The usual loyal and Masonic toasts vvere given , followed by that of "The "VV . M ., " in which Bro . Dehane alluded to the great services rendered by Bro . Clapham , which was acknowledged very appropriately .

"The Initiates" was next given , and vvas responded to Bros . Cockman and Jones , who vvere much impressed by the ceremony they had gone through , and hoped to become good Masons . . " !* ¦ The Tyler ' s toast concluded the proceedings , which had been enlivened by songs from Bros . Dr . Lyle , Lewin , Cockman , and Jones . Bro . Snell sang the E . A . ' s song .

TEDDINGTON . —Sir Charles Bright Lodge ( No . 1793 ) . —This prosperous lodge met at the Clarence Hotel , on the 24 th ult . Among those in attendance were Bros . Porter , W . M . ; Simmonds , S . The lodge vvas opened in the First Degree , and , after the reading and confirmation of the minutes , the ceremony of initiation was rehearsed . The lodge vvas called off , and , on resuming , the usual questions leading to the Second Degree vvere ably answered by Bro . Penrose . The lodge was advanced to the Second Degree , and the ceremony of passing rehearsed . The lodge was resumed to the First Degree , and Bro . Cook , 147 , was elected a member of the lodge . Cooper thanked the brethren for their letter of condolence , received by him on behalf of the family of the late Bro . Gustavus Pery , who lost his life by the foundering of the steamship Cuseo a short time ago . Bro . Reakes ,

through illness , vvas unable to be present to be raised . After " Hearty good wishes" the lodge was closed , and the brethren adjourned to banquet . The usual loyal and Masonic toasts vvere given , followed by that of "The "VV . M ., " in which Bro . Dehane alluded to the great services rendered by Bro . Clapham , which was acknowledged very appropriately .

"The Initiates" was next given , and vvas responded to Bros . Cockman and Jones , who vvere much impressed by the ceremony they had gone through , and hoped to become good Masons . . " !* ¦ The Tyler ' s toast concluded the proceedings , which had been enlivened by songs from Bros . Dr . Lyle , Lewin , Cockman , and Jones . Bro . Snell sang the E . A . ' s song .

The lodge vvas opened in the First Degree , and , after the reading and confirmation of the minutes , the ceremony of initiation was rehearsed . Installed Masters vvas formed , and Bro . Hakim was duly installed . Bro . Allman , after investing the officers , gave thc addresses in a very able manner . Bro . Jones vvas unanimously elected a member , and acknowledged the compliment in suitable terms . A vote of congratulation to Bro . C . A . Bond , W . M . elect 1425 , on thc occasion of his marriage , vvas unanimously passed . A vote of condolence vvas unanimously passed with the family of the late Bro . F . G . Baker . After " Hearty good wishes , " the lodge vvas closed .

M . for the next meeting , and appointed officers in rotation . The W . M . rose for the third time , and thanked Bro . Sheffield for so kindly undertaking his duties as Secretary for the occasion .
