Wooley , Sec , at a prior meeting of the lodge as a candidate for the privileges and mysteries of ancient Freemasonry . Bros . VV . T . Moss and S . Moss , were raised to the Sublime Deirree of M . M . bv the W . M . in a most

impressive manner , the traditional history and explanation of the tracing board and working tools being given by Bro . I . Wood . The whole of the ceremony was thoroughly well done by each officer who took part in it , and in a style that commended itself to the numerous visitors present , as was

evinced by the remarks made by them at the subsequent banquet . . Several important commumcat'ons were read by the Secretary , and the lodge , after receiving " Hearty good wishes " from the visiting brethren , was closed in ancient form and perfect harmony .

NORWICH . —Cabbell Lodge ( No . S 07 ) . —The usual monthly meeting of this lodge was held at the Masonic Club , No . 23 , St . Giles-street , on Thursday , the 26 th ult . The business of the evening was to ballot for , and if accepted , to initiate Mr . Thomas Woods , which having proved unanimous , the VV . M . then , in a most exquisite way , performed the ceremony of initiation , the charge being effectively rendered by the I . P . M ., Bro . Geo . Green .

" Hearty good wishes" having been given , the lodge was closed in due form . The brethren then adjourned to the banqueting-room to supper , and on the removal of the cloth , the usual loyal , Masonic , and general toasts were given and duly acknowledged ; and in the course of the evening several songs were excellently rendered by the brethren present .

BATH . —Arkwright Lodge ( No . 1495 ) . —The interests of Masonry in this charming and romantic Peak district received a decided impetus by the successful gathering held on Wednesday , the 25 th ult ., in connection with the above-named lodge , which has its head-quarters in Tyack's Hotel , Matlock . Notwithstanding the boisterous and inclement weather of Tuesday , Wednesday saw the

LIVERPOOL . —Emulation Lodge ( No . 1505 ) . —The annual installation meeting of the members of this lodge was held on Thursday afternoon , the 26 th ult ., at the Masonic Hall , Hope-street , and the gathering proved one of the most successful of the " Emulation " series , as it was numerously and influentially attended by many whose names are prominent in connection with the Fraternity in

impressive manner , the traditional history and explanation of the tracing board and working tools being given by Bro . I . Wood . The whole of the ceremony was thoroughly well done by each officer who took part in it , and in a style that commended itself to the numerous visitors present , as was

evinced by the remarks made by them at the subsequent banquet . . Several important commumcat'ons were read by the Secretary , and the lodge , after receiving " Hearty good wishes " from the visiting brethren , was closed in ancient form and perfect harmony .

" Hearty good wishes" having been given , the lodge was closed in due form . M ., with a valuable Past Master's jewel in token of the esteem of the

brethren , and a special vote of thanks was subsequently passed to Bro . Foote for the able manner in which he had performed the duties of marshalling master .
