Ihe companions adjourned to the banqueting chamber , atid during the evening tbe loyal and Masomc toast list was proceeded with . The enjoyment of the evening was greatly enhanced by some capital songs from Comps . Martin , Thomas , T . Shorrock , H . Nail , M . E . Z ., and G . S . Smith , P . Z ., P . P . G . Org . A duet given by the two former companions was really fine . The accompaniments were played mi stly on the splendid organ by Comp . Ferniley , whose exquisite manipulation of that instrument is simply marvellous .

Ur ., and one ol the founders , was elected VV . M . for the ensuing year , and Bro . Chas . E . Ward , I . P . M ., Prov . S . G . W ., was elected Treasurer . Bros . Ward and Townsend were appointed to

audit the lodge accounts of the past year , and Bro . Townsend , W . M . elect , was elected to represent the lodge on the Committee of Provincial Grand Lodge of Lincolnshire Alark Benevolent Association , which has recently been accepted by Provincial Grand Lodge on the proposition of Bro . Chas . E . Ward , Prov . S . G . W ., to enable brethren

and lodges by small annual payments to qualify as Life Subscribers or Governors of Grand Mark Benevolent Fund . general , the welfare of the Mark and Royal Ark Mariners lodges in particular . This was seconded by Bro . VVebb , P . C . N ., who also thanked Bro . Crisp for the great assistance he had given him during his two years of office in the lodge , and was carried unanimously . Bro . Crisp replied in a few well chosen remarks . The lodge was then closed .

BRO . JOHN O . ABBOTT . This highly esteemed brother passed away suddenly at Herne Bay , leaving 12 children to mourn his loss . For some years our brother has been Secretary of St . Alary's Lodge , No . 63 , and last year he was one of the

founders of the Hiram Lodge ( architect and surveyors ) , of which Bro . F . R . Farrow is the W . M ., and Bro . Henry Lovegrove the Secretary . The funeral took place at Highgate Cemetery , and was attended by several brethren ; but for the short notice a large number would have attended .

BRO . GEORGE LANSDOWN . This brother was well-known as one of the Past Alasters of the Granite Lodge , and had been in failing health for some time . He held since 18 75 the post of district surveyor of East Newington ,

The enjoyment of the evening was greatly enhanced by some capital songs from Comps . Martin , Thomas , T . Shorrock , H . Nail , M . E . Z ., and G . S . Smith , P . Z ., P . P . G . Org . A duet given by the two former companions was really fine . The accompaniments were played mi stly on the splendid organ by Comp . Ferniley , whose exquisite manipulation of that instrument is simply marvellous .

BRO . JOHN O . ABBOTT . This highly esteemed brother passed away suddenly at Herne Bay , leaving 12 children to mourn his loss . For some years our brother has been Secretary of St . Alary's Lodge , No . 63 , and last year he was one of the

founders of the Hiram Lodge ( architect and surveyors ) , of which Bro . F . R . Farrow is the W . M ., and Bro . Henry Lovegrove the Secretary . The funeral took place at Highgate Cemetery , and was attended by several brethren ; but for the short notice a large number would have attended .

BRO . GEORGE LANSDOWN . This brother was well-known as one of the Past Alasters of the Granite Lodge , and had been in failing health for some time . He held since 18 75 the post of district surveyor of East Newington ,
