The Grand Master spoke to him with regard to this meeting of 120 S , and requested him to convey to the lodge his regret that an engagement in another part of the country would prevent him attending

at Dover that day . A similar apology vvas made by the Deput y . During the time Earl Amherst had ruled over the province of Kent , Masonry had flourished immensely Md the number of lodges had enormously increased . Bro . Kennett proposed the toast of "The VVorshipful Master . " He said Bro . Marsh had ever been distinguished as . a quite careful and conscientious worker , who had

gradually worked his way up from the lowest office to the chair . " did not know that any better characteristics could be Possessed by a Worshipful Master , whom they met to congratulate upon his elevation to the chair . own—at least for a great number of years . He never entered that lodge but that he felt very grateful to the brethren who helped him so well to carry out that great work . When they met together 12 months ago , although they had made up their minds to get into premises which would be used for Masonic purposes only , he did not think any of them then thought they would succeed in getting such a

splendid place as they had . The premises would always remind him of the generous support he had received from the brethren during his year of office , and he asked for his successor the same cordial co-operation . "The Past Masters of the Lodge" was proposed by Bro . Hearn , and responded to by Bro . Holmes . The Worshipful Master proposed " The Officers of the Lodge , " which was responded to by Bro . J . Wright .

M . 199 , in responding tothe toast , remarked that it was a matter upon which they might congratulate themselves that they could meet together under one common roof . It was vvhat they had been looking forward to for years in Dover , and he thought it was very appropriate for the Jubilee year .

CAMBORNE . —Mount Edgcumbe Lodge ( No . 1544 ) . —The regular meeting of this lodge was held on Wednesday , * the 23 rd ult . There vvas a very full attendance of members . for the same object .

J . CAMBORNE . —Mount Edgcumbe Lodge ( No . 1544 ) . —The regular meeting of this lodge was held on Wednesday , * the 23 rd ult . There vvas a very full attendance of members . The Secretary gave the financial statement to date , which showed that the members , after a very hard struggle , had succeeded in raising the whole of the Xioo debt that was due from the lodge , and cheques

were ordered to be drawn and the debt paid forthwith . After every known liability due to the date of the meeting was paid the Treasurer would have a small balance in hand irrespective of the amounts due from the members by way of subscriptions . for the same object . The Secretary also repoited that owing to the liberality of the brethren , he had that day represented the Iodge at the Cornwall Masonic Charity Association , at the Committee at Truro , with a list from the Mount Edgcumbe Lodge to the large amount of 35 guineas ; and that the total amount subscribed to this fund from the members and lodges in the Province of Cornwall
