me ormsn sauor , ana now nis loyal and martial songs did much to make the history of our country during the fifty years which followed the Peace of Pans . Although the tomb is not dilapidated and is not to ba . swept away , the admirers of Dibdin desire to take advanlage of tne proposed conveision of the old cemetery at Camden Town into a public gaiden to erect some suitable memorial nis
over or near grave . One suggestion is a canopy and bust over the present tomb . Another is a memoiial fountain near the tomb . The Kentish Town Musical Society recently formed a Commitcee to take the matter up , and , in the absence of any more general organisation , this Committee has been joined by many admirers of Dibdin , and it has now been determined to appeal to the public for subscriptions . The form of the
memorial must , to some extent , depend upon the response to this appeal , but the least the Committee hope to be able to do is to create a permanent fund for the protection and preservation of the tomb . Mr . Sims Reeves has kindly consented to act as Chairman of the Memorial Committee , and Mr . T . Eccleston Gibb , of St . Pancras , as Treasurer .
Subscriptions and suggestions as to the form ot the Memorial will be thankfully received by the Comn . ittee .
Subscriptions and suggestions as to the form ot the Memorial will be thankfully received by the Comn . ittee .
