M . in 1883 . He is also a joining member of the Guildhall School of Music Lodge , No . 2454 .

He was exalted in the Old King's Arms Chapter , No . 28 , in 1887 , and elected and installed M . E . Z . in April , 1891 . He is a Life Governor of the Girls' and Benevolent Institutions and has served one Stewardship for the latter , and has qualified as Vice-President for the Boys' School , for which he has already served two Stewardships , and has returned his name to serve a third on the Board for the . Festival in July .

He was initiated in the Arboretum Lodge , No . 731 , in 1880 , of which lodge he was W . M . In 1887 , and was appointed Prov . S . G . Warden in 1888 . He joined the Tyrian Lodge , No . 253 , in 1885 , and was its W . M , in 1897 . He was also a founder of the

Justicia Lodge , N 0 . 2586 . He was exalted in the Chapter of Truth , No . 731 , in 1882 , and was M . E . Z . in 188 9 and 1891 , and was appointed Prov . G . J . in 1893 . I" the Mark Degree he was advanced in the Derby Lodge , No . 302 , in 1883 , arid was W . M . in 1889 , when he was appointed S U . was appointed S . G . G . in 1899 . He has been a munificent supporter of the Masonic Charities , being a Patron of the R . M . I . lor Boys , a Vice-Patron of the R . M . I . for Girls , lor which Charities he has served 10 Stewardships ; he is also Patron of the Mark Benevolent' Fund , for which he has served 14 Stewardships .

Bro . WALTER WELLSMAN was initiated in the South Middlesex Lodge , No ; 858 , in April , 1863 , and in 1871 , had the honour ot being ii . stalled in the chair as ' W . M . He has also been at different times elected a joining member of the St .

Dunstan ' s Lodge , No . 1580 , the British Lodge , No . 8 , the Willesden Lodge , No . 2489 , and the Cricklewood Lodge , No . 2361 , and amongst these he has been installed as W . M . of St . Dunstan ' s , for the first time in February , 18 77 , and for the second time in February , 1891 . He was exalted in the Asaph Chapter , No . 1319 , on the 19 th February , 18 77 , and was installed in the chair of M . E . Z . in June , 1884 . In April , 1879 , he took the- leading part in founding the St . Dunstan ' s

Chapter , No . 1580 , and in October , 18 95 , rendered a like service in respect of the Willesden Chapter , No . 2489 , and over both these chapters he had the honour of presiding as their First Principal Z . Bro . T . H . NESBITT is particularly well known in the annals of Manx Freemasonry , he having been initiated in Tynwald Lodge , No . 1242 , Douglas , in 1874 . In 18 S 1 , he joined the Athole Lodge , No . 1004 , Douglas , proceeding step by st jp through the various oflices until in 1886 he was unanimously elected W . M . In 1884 , he became a founder of St . Trinians Lodge , No . 2050 , rendering useful services as a member and officer for several years . In 1887 , after the constitution

of the Province of the fsle of Man , he became a founder and first W . M . of Spencer Walpole Lodge , No . 2197 , Douglas , subsequently holding office , as Treasureruntil in 18 96 , he was again unanimously elected W . M ., and continued in active service until his departure from the Isle of Man in March , 1898 . In 1891 , he became a founder of the Lodge of Mona , No . 2359 , Castletown , and at the request of the Provincial Grand Master he undertook the onerous duties of Consecrating

Officer . In 18 9 8 , he joined Justicia Lodge , No . 2563 , London , and , in 18 99 , he was unanimously elected a joining member of the Sun , Square , and Compass Lodge , No . 119 , in his native town of Whitehaven . On the formation of the Province of the Isle of Man , in 1886 , Bro . Nesbitt was by common consent designated for the ollice of Provincial Grand Secretary , to which office he was appointed by the Provincial Grand Master , the late -Sir'John Senhouse

Goldie-Taubman , J . P ., Speaksr of the House of Keys . He continued as Provincial Grand Secretary until i 8 yo when , by special desire of his chief , he accepted the cilice of Deputy Provincial Grand Master and held that office for five years ! In 18 95 , upon voluntarily retiring from ofiice as Deputy Provincial Grand Master , he was again appointed Provincial Grand- Secretary , which office he held until he left the Isle of Man in March , 1898 . He was exalted

as a Royal Arch Mason in Athole Chapter , No . 1004 , in i 88 r , and held vartoa ' s ' offices in that chapter . Upon the formation of the Tynwald Chapter , No . 1243 , ' some few years later , he became a founder and first H . of the chapter , the Prov . ' G . M . being the first Z . In the following year Bro . Nesbitt was unanimously elected First Principal . In 1898 he was appointed an Asst . G . D . of C . in Grand Chapter . Outside Craft Masonry he also possesses an excellent record , having

been advanced to the Degree of a Mark Master in August , 1883 , in the Fletcher Lodge , No . 213 , Whitehaven , a founder of the Peveril Mark Lodge , No . 323 , Douglas , and is a P . M . of that lodge , and a P . P . G . I . G . of the Province of Cumberland and Westmorland . He was admitted and installed a Knight of Rome and of the Red Cross of Constantine in January , 1884 , in the Dyke ' s Conclave , No . 36 , Cockermouth , and in November , 1884 , he was perfected in the Rose

Croix Mount Chapter , No . 3 . He has served as Steward on two occasions for the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys and the Royal Masonic Institution for Girls and one for the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution . He is a Life Governor of the three Institutions , and all the members of his family have qualified as Life Governors of the Boys' Institution . Bro . Nesbitt occupied the responsible position of Town Clerk of Douglas , Isle of Man , for 17 years . In January , 1898 , he received the appointment of Vestry Clerk to the premier Metropolitan

Vestry—St . George's , Hanover-square—in which capacity he has given complete satisfaction , and fully justified the high anticipations which were formed when he was elected . On leaving Douglas he was the recipient of a magnificent illuminated address , presented to him by the Mayor , Aldermen , and Councillors uf that borough . He is a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society , a Fellow of the Society of Arts , and a Fellow of the Incorporated Society of Accountants and Auditors .

PAST GRAND SWORD BEARERS . Bro . Major HUNRY WRIGHT was initiated in the Guelph Lodge , No . 1685 , 011 the 14 th June , 1879 . Later in the same year he joined the Alliance Lodge , No . 1827 , and was installed its \ V . Master on the 4 th November , 1885 . He has also been elected a joining member of the Eastes Lodge , No . 1965 , Bromley , in thc Province of Kent , in 1882 , and of the King Solomon , Lodge , No . 2029 . in 18 S 4 .

He ranks as P . Z . in the Royal Arch , having been exalted in the Bayard Chapter , No . 1615 , on the 5 th June , 1884 , and installed its M . E . Z . on the 4 th March , i 88 y . Last year he had the honour of being appointed G . Standard Bsarsr of S jpreiu ; G . Chapter . ' He is a Life Governor of both our Schools , and has twice served as Steward fo-r each of them .

Bro . SEPTIMUS IZANT NOTLEY was initiated in the Buckingham andChandos Lodge , No . 1150 , on the 20 th April , 1881 , anil in February , 1890 , had the honour of being installed in the W . Master's chair . His na-ne has been handed in for exaltation' as a Royal Arch'Mason in the British Chapter , No . 8 , early during the present month . He has qualified as Vice-Patron ofthe Girls ' and Benevolent

Institutions , and Vice-President of the Boys' School , and has served a Stewardship for each of the Schools and two for the Benevolent Institution , while there is reason to believe that he has entered as Steward for the approaching Boys ' School Festival , and will then enrol himself as a Vice-Patron insteid of a Vic :-President .

He has also been at different times elected a joining member of the St .

Dunstan ' s Lodge , No . 1580 , the British Lodge , No . 8 , the Willesden Lodge , No . 2489 , and the Cricklewood Lodge , No . 2361 , and amongst these he has been installed as W . M . of St . Dunstan ' s , for the first time in February , 18 77 , and for the second time in February , 1891 . He was exalted in the Asaph Chapter , No . 1319 , on the 19 th February , 18 77 , and was installed in the chair of M . E . Z . in June , 1884 . Chapter , No . 1580 , and in October , 18 95 , rendered a like service in respect of the Willesden Chapter , No . 2489 , and over both these chapters he had the honour of presiding as their First Principal Z . Bro . Wellsman has qualified as a Life Governor of all three Institutions and has served altogether six Stewardshi is , namely , three for the Girls' School , two for the Eoys' School , and one for the Benevolent Institution .

Bro . T . H . NESBITT is particularly well known in the annals of Manx Freemasonry , he having been initiated in Tynwald Lodge , No . 1242 , Douglas , in 1874 . In 18 S 1 , he joined the Athole Lodge , No . 1004 , Douglas , proceeding step by st jp through the various oflices until in 1886 he was unanimously elected W . M . In 1884 , he became a founder of St . Trinians Lodge , No . 2050 , rendering useful services as a member and officer for several years . In 1887 , after the constitution

of the Province of the fsle of Man , he became a founder and first W . M . of Spencer Walpole Lodge , No . 2197 , Douglas , subsequently holding office , as Treasureruntil in 18 96 , he was again unanimously elected W . M ., and continued in active service until his departure from the Isle of Man in March , 1898 . In 1891 , he became a founder of the Lodge of Mona , No . 2359 , Castletown , and at the request of the Provincial Grand Master he undertook the onerous duties of Consecrating

Officer . In 18 9 8 , he joined Justicia Lodge , No . 2563 , London , and , in 18 99 , he was unanimously elected a joining member of the Sun , Square , and Compass Lodge , No . 119 , in his native town of Whitehaven . On the formation of the Province of the Isle of Man , in 1886 , Bro . Nesbitt was by common consent designated for the ollice of Provincial Grand Secretary , to which office he was appointed by the Provincial Grand Master , the late -Sir'John Senhouse

Goldie-Taubman , J . P ., Speaksr of the House of Keys . He continued as Provincial Grand Secretary until i 8 yo when , by special desire of his chief , he accepted the cilice of Deputy Provincial Grand Master and held that office for five years ! In 18 95 , upon voluntarily retiring from ofiice as Deputy Provincial Grand Master , he was again appointed Provincial Grand- Secretary , which office he held until he left the Isle of Man in March , 1898 . as a Royal Arch Mason in Athole Chapter , No . 1004 , in i 88 r , and held vartoa ' s ' offices in that chapter . Upon the formation of the Tynwald Chapter , No . 1243 , ' some few years later , he became a founder and first H . of the chapter , the Prov . ' G . M . being the first Z . In the following year Bro . Nesbitt was unanimously elected First Principal . In 1898 he was appointed an Asst . G . D . of C . in Grand Chapter . Outside Craft Masonry he also possesses an excellent record , having

been advanced to the Degree of a Mark Master in August , 1883 , in the Fletcher Lodge , No . 213 , Whitehaven , a founder of the Peveril Mark Lodge , No . 323 , Douglas , and is a P . M . of that lodge , and a P . P . G . I . G . of the Province of Cumberland and Westmorland . He was admitted and installed a Knight of Rome and of the Red Cross of Constantine in January , 1884 , in the Dyke ' s Conclave , No . 36 , Cockermouth , and in November , 1884 , he was perfected in the Rose

Croix Mount Chapter , No . 3 . He has served as Steward on two occasions for the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys and the Royal Masonic Institution for Girls and one for the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution . He is a Life Governor of the three Institutions , and all the members of his family have qualified as Life Governors of the Boys' Institution . Bro . Nesbitt occupied the responsible position of Town Clerk of Douglas , Isle of Man , for 17 years . In January , 1898 , he received the appointment of Vestry Clerk to the premier Metropolitan

Vestry—St . George's , Hanover-square—in which capacity he has given complete satisfaction , and fully justified the high anticipations which were formed when he was elected . On leaving Douglas he was the recipient of a magnificent illuminated address , presented to him by the Mayor , Aldermen , and Councillors uf that borough . He is a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society , a Fellow of the Society of Arts , and a Fellow of the Incorporated Society of Accountants and Auditors .

PAST GRAND SWORD BEARERS . Bro . Major HUNRY WRIGHT was initiated in the Guelph Lodge , No . 1685 , 011 the 14 th June , 1879 . Later in the same year he joined the Alliance Lodge , No . 1827 , and was installed its \ V . Master on the 4 th November , 1885 . He has also been elected a joining member of the Eastes Lodge , No . 1965 , Bromley , in thc Province of Kent , in 1882 , and of the King Solomon , Lodge , No . 2029 . in 18 S 4 .

He ranks as P . Z . in the Royal Arch , having been exalted in the Bayard Chapter , No . 1615 , on the 5 th June , 1884 , and installed its M . E . Z . on the 4 th March , i 88 y . Last year he had the honour of being appointed G . Standard Bsarsr of S jpreiu ; G . Chapter . ' He is a Life Governor of both our Schools , and has twice served as Steward fo-r each of them .

Bro . SEPTIMUS IZANT NOTLEY was initiated in the Buckingham andChandos Lodge , No . 1150 , on the 20 th April , 1881 , anil in February , 1890 , had the honour of being installed in the W . Master's chair . His na-ne has been handed in for exaltation' as a Royal Arch'Mason in the British Chapter , No . 8 , early during the present month . He has qualified as Vice-Patron ofthe Girls ' and Benevolent

Institutions , and Vice-President of the Boys' School , and has served a Stewardship for each of the Schools and two for the Benevolent Institution , while there is reason to believe that he has entered as Steward for the approaching Boys ' School Festival , and will then enrol himself as a Vice-Patron insteid of a Vic :-President .
