It should be added that during the afternoon and evening the fine band o' the Scots Guards , by permission of Col . Fludyer and officers , played a charming selection of music on the hwn , and that between the toasts a highclass entertainment , managed by Bro . A . J . Brickwell , S . The anpual meeting of the above Prov . Grand Lodge was held at the Parish Hall , Teddington , on Saturday , the 22 nd instant , when only formal business was transacted , the usual banquet having been abandoned owing to ths recent death of the D . P . G . M ., Bro . Raymond H . Thrupp , P . A . G . D C . The brethren were , moreover , deprived of the pleasure of seeing tie Prov . G . M . preside , Bro . Lord George Hamilton , M . P ., unfortunately ,

Thanks were accorded to the Royal Hanover Lodge , and especially to Bro . R . W . Forge for his valuable assistance in the arrangements for the day .

Bro . DOUGLAS GORDON , P . P . G . W ., then referred to the great loss the province had sustained during the past year by the deaths of many distinguished Masons . They had lost Bros . C . J . Veal and T . I . Bird , and recently Bro . R . H . Thrupp , the Dep . Prov . G . Master . The latter was well known throughout the Craft , and a profound feeling of sorrow was in the hearts of every brother in the province . Personally he had known Bro .

Thrupp from the commencement of his ( Bro . Gordon ' s ) Masonic life . He first regarded Bro . Thrupp with awe , which changed into respect , and , finally , firm friendship and affection . It would be the wish of every brother present that they should record their deep sympathy with the relatives of Bro . Thrupp , and their sense of the loss the province had sustained by his death .

Bro . Dr . GARSON , P . P . G . W ., formally moved a resolution expressing these sentiments , which was carried , every brother showing his assent by silently standing in his place . A Teller was read from the Prov . G . Sec . of Surrey , containing a similar resolution passed at the Prov . Grand Lodge of Surrey on the previous day . A telegram was dispatched to the Prov . G . M . expressing the hope that he would be speedily restoied to health , and the Prov . G . Sec . subsequently received a reply tendering sincere thanks for this mark of friendship .

The PROV . G . SEC . having expressed his personal thanks to the Asst . G , Sec , Bro . Lee , for his co-operation and assistance during the past year , the Provincial Grand Lodge was closed . As the brethren dispersed , Bro . Wharton We ' . ls , P . P . G . Org ., played the Dead March in " Saul . "

The Grand Lodge of England welcomed the return of the Grand Lodge of Peru and

the lodges holding f . herunder to its place amongst those Supreme Masonic bodies which acknowledge a belief in T . G . A . O . T . U . and the presence in lodges of His Sacred Law as essential landmarks of the Craft , and ordered that such be recognised by English Masons as true and lawful Masonic lodges . . , then

A Teller was read from the Prov . G . Sec . of Surrey , containing a similar resolution passed at the Prov . Grand Lodge of Surrey on the previous day . A telegram was dispatched to the Prov . G . M . expressing the hope that he would be speedily restoied to health , and the Prov . G . Sec . subsequently received a reply tendering sincere thanks for this mark of friendship .

The PROV . G . SEC . having expressed his personal thanks to the Asst . G , Sec , Bro . Lee , for his co-operation and assistance during the past year , the Provincial Grand Lodge was closed . The PROV . G . SECRETARY then read an offici . 'il communication from the Grand Secretary referring to the action of the Grand Lodge of Peru , which had reversed its former action respecting the removal of the Volume of the Sacred Law from the altars of all lodges under its jurisdiction . The Grand Lodge of England welcomed the return of the Grand Lodge of Peru and

the lodges holding f . herunder to its place amongst those Supreme Masonic bodies which acknowledge a belief in T . G . A . O . T . U . and the presence in lodges of His Sacred Law as essential landmarks of the Craft , and ordered that such be recognised by English Masons as true and lawful Masonic lodges . . , then

The various lodges in the province , all of which were represented , communicated . Tne returns showed a total of 2405 subscribing members . The Prov . G . Master then appointed and invested the following Prov . G . Ollicers for the ensuing year , and also invested the Prov . G . Treasurer , who had been elected by thc Prov . G .
