Provincial Meetings.

After supper , the W . M . proposed the usual loyal , Grand Lodge , and Prov . Grand Lodge toasts , coupling that of "Lord Brooke , P . G . M ., and the rest of the Prov . Grand Officers , Present and Past , " with the name of Bro . Manning . Bro . Manning , in responding' , regretted that so important and comprehensive a toast had not fallen into abler hands .

Yet he could not refuse to add his testimony to the able and masterly manner in which Bros . Lord Brooke and Philbrick presided at and attended to the onerous duties appertaining to their several high and important offices . With reference to the lodge , it was most " 'ratifying to see the able and excellent manner in which the duties and working of the lodg'e had been carried out that evening'by both the W . M .

and the l . P . M . He looked forward to the lodge making for itself a high position among the lodges of the province , and felt sure that under the rule of their esteemed W . M . that high position was within its near reach . On behalf of the Prov . Grand Officers he thanked them , and hoped that Bro . Westfield would also reply . The l . P . M . then proposed the toast of " The W . M ., "

and in so doing spoke highly of the admirable manner in which Bro . Smith had carried out the working of the Third Deg'ree . The welfare of the lodge was their W . Master ' s earnest desire , and in his hands they felt sure of its continued prosperity and success . The W . vl ., in responding , said that he was very much obliged to Bro . Westfield for the kind manner in which he had proposed the toast . It was a very difficult thing to

carry out the duties of W . M . to the satisfaction of every one , but he trusted they would bear with him for a time , when they might depend upon it that nothing should be wanting on his pait to ensure the success and prosperity of the lodge . Several other toasts followed , and the Tyler ' s toast concluded the proceedings , which were both enthusiastic and enjoyable .

LIVERPOOL . Dramatic Lodge ( No . 1609 ) . —The 13 th anniversary of this lodge was held at thc Masonic Temple , Hope-street , on the 24 th ult ., and was , as usual , a very enthusiastic gathering . anniversary was no exception to the rule , every branch of the dramatic profession being represented . Of course , the permanent staff of the lodge is composed of residents in the city or suburbs , but this in no way detracts from the harmony , combined with energy , which distinguishes 1609 .
