There was a good representative attendance , comprising some 70 members of the Craft , and the proceedings throughout were of an interesting and harmonious character .

The D . P . G . M . said he was sure they would all agree with him that they would much prefer to see the Prov . Grand Master occupying the chair , rather than the Deputy . ...

The election of Prov . Grand Treasurer resulted in the enthusiastic return of Bro . W . J . Kelly to that office , who was congratulated by the D . P . G . M . on being re-elected to the only position at the absolute disposal of ' the brethren as a body . More convincing proof of popularity and appreciation could not be afforded . The Deputy Prov . G . M . then proceeded to invest the Prov . Grand

Officers for the ensuing year with the collars and jewels of their respectiv e offices . He intimated that the Prov . Grand Master had again appointed him as his Deputy for the ensuing year , and he repeated his expression of regret that the Prov . Grand Master was unable to be present . M . ; also , that steps be taken to perpetuate the memory of the late Bro . George Heron , P . M ., P . Z ., Prov . G . Std . Br . Eng ., & c . The Charity Commit 1 ee had held no meetings during the year , as there were no cases before them .

The PROV . G . SECRETARY then read his report of the lodges , from which it appeared there were 267 subscribing members in the nine lodges . The Prov . Grand Treasurer ' s statement of accounts was read and adopted . It showed a credit balance of , £ 444 , but it was pointed out that a large proportion was locked up in Dumbell's Bank ;

It was suggested that the funds subs ribed for the Heron memorial should be merged in one of these funds , and that the late B-o . Heron ' s name should be associated therewith . Th PROV ; G . SECRETARY * said he proposed to ask a subscription of 2 s . 6 d . each from members , and ; £ t is . from each lodge for each of these benevolent funds .

A vote of sympathy was passed with the P . G . M . in regard to the recent loss of his eldest son and the present serious illness of his daughter . A resolution was also passed recording the sorrow of the Pi ov . Grand Lodge on hearing of the death of Bro . the Rev . Charles J . Martyn , Prov . S . G . W . of Suffolk , who had ably installed Lord Henniker in June , 1 9 , in the office of Prov . G . Master .

The DEP . PROV . G . MASTER , on behalf of the assembly , fraternally welcomed Bro . the Hon . J . K . Ward amongst Manx Masons , and the brethren accorded him a hearty round of applause . Bro . WARD expressed his pleasure in being present , and said that though he had been 40 years a Mason he had never before attended a Manx lodge . He was glad to find the Prov . G . Lodge was taking up the question of benevolence . This concluded the business .

The brethren then proceeded to Castle Mona , where an excellent repast was served , reflecting much credit oh the menage . The usual toast list was honoured . Songs were given during the evening by Bros . H . Webb , Greenwood , and C . Fox , recitations by Bros . Williams , Vincent , and Driver , and Bro . Lawton gave the Tyler ' s toast .

A letter was read from Bro .. McLeod , Sec . of the Royal Masonic Institution for B iys , stating that a Middlesex boy had been retained at the Scnool after the usual age . Votes of thanks were accorded to Bros . J . Gordon Langton , Prov . G . Treas . ; and G . J . Thomas , P . P . G . Supt . of Works , the Special Secretary for elections , on the proposition of the PROV ., G M , who referred to thsit " valuable services , and the resignation of Bro . Thomas was received with

The DEP . PROV . G . MASTER , on behalf of the assembly , fraternally welcomed Bro . the Hon . J . K . Ward amongst Manx Masons , and the brethren accorded him a hearty round of applause . Bro . WARD expressed his pleasure in being present , and said that though he had been 40 years a Mason he had never before attended a Manx lodge . He was glad to find the Prov . G . Lodge was taking up the question of benevolence . This concluded the business .

The brethren then proceeded to Castle Mona , where an excellent repast was served , reflecting much credit oh the menage . The usual toast list was honoured . Songs were given during the evening by Bros . H . Webb , Greenwood , and C . Fox , recitations by Bros . Williams , Vincent , and Driver , and Bro . Lawton gave the Tyler ' s toast .

The annual meeting of the Prov . Grand Lodge of Middlesex was held on Saturday , the 29 th ult ., at the Public Hall , Harrow-on-the Hill . The Prov . Grand Master , Lord George Hamilton , M . Provincial Grand Lodge was formally opened , the Prov . G . M . saluted , and the minutes confirmed . The Prov . G . Treasurer's accounts —showing . £ 180 disbursed in Charity during the yeSr—were received and adopted , and the report of the Charity Committee , which was also accepted , showed successful results attained at each of the elections .

A letter was read from Bro .. McLeod , Sec . of the Royal Masonic Institution for B iys , stating that a Middlesex boy had been retained at the Scnool after the usual age . Votes of thanks were accorded to Bros . J . Gordon Langton , Prov . G . Treas . ; and G . J . Thomas , P . P . G . Supt . of Works , the Special Secretary for elections , on the proposition of the PROV ., G M , who referred to thsit " valuable services , and the resignation of Bro . Thomas was received with

A sum of 15 guineas was voted to each x ) f the three Masonic Charities . Two alterations in the Provincial Bye-Laws were proposed b y the PROV . G . SEC , and carried unanimously , the first fixing the 31 st M irch as the date to which the Annual Returns from the lodges should ba made u j * and the second directing the various Secretaries to forward a summons ' of each lodge meeting to the Prov . G . Sec . and the Dep . Prov . G . M .

The roll of lodges was called , and a vote of thanks was accorded the Hirga Lodge for use tf furniture , and especially Bro . R . K * . l { . Fisher P . P . G . Reg ., for his valuable assistance in the arrangements .
