Thomas Johnston , R . VV . M . in the chair , and Bros . John Thompson , S . W ., and A . Kennedy , J . W ., acting as Croupiers . The Secretary , Bro . John Waddell , intimated that letters of apology had been received from

After the banquet was over the usual loyal toasts were given from the chair and duly honoured . Bro . J . Anderson , jun ., P . M ., in proposing "The Grand Lodge of Scotland , " said that they all felt proud that
Grand Lodge had emerged from the cloud that had hung over her for so tang , and that she was now in a prosperous and flourishing condition , and instead of now being in debt she was able to strike a balance on the right side of the ledger . Bro . David Reid , Grand Bible Bearer , and Prov . Grand Secretary G ' asgow , briefly replied .
Bro . Ma | or Menzies proposed "The Lord Provost , Magistrates , and Town Council of Glasgow , " and said that they were all proud to drink to " The Health of the City Fathers , " first , because they were always doing their very best for the whole community , and secondly , because both the Ancient and Modern Records of St . John's Lodge showed what a large number of these gentlemen had
connected themselves and taken a lively interest in the welfare of the lodge . The toast was received with acclamation . In proposing " The Lodge St . John , " Bro . Gilfillan spoke of the Ancient Records of this lodge extending away back to the eleventh century , and said he could not pay a higher tribute to the lodge than to express the hope that the lodge
would flourish as much in the future as it had done in the past , and he had no doubt that so long as they could secure such a set of officebearers as they had at present the prosperity of the lodge was assuied . Grand Lodge had emerged from the cloud that had hung over her for so tang , and that she was now in a prosperous and flourishing condition , and instead of now being in debt she was able to strike a balance on the right side of the ledger . Bro . Ma | or Menzies proposed "The Lord Provost , Magistrates , and Town Council of Glasgow , " and said that they were all proud to drink to " The Health of the City Fathers , " first , because they were always doing their very best for the whole community , and secondly , because both the Ancient and Modern Records of St . John's Lodge showed what a large number of these gentlemen had
connected themselves and taken a lively interest in the welfare of the lodge . The toast was received with acclamation . In proposing " The Lodge St . John , " Bro . Gilfillan spoke of the Ancient Records of this lodge extending away back to the eleventh century , and said he could not pay a higher tribute to the lodge than to express the hope that the lodge
would flourish as much in the future as it had done in the past , and he had no doubt that so long as they could secure such a set of officebearers as they had at present the prosperity of the lodge was assuied . " The Voice of Masonry is a beautifully illustrated Masonic Magazine in high repute in the United Stales , where it has , we believe , an enormous circulation amongst the Fraternity , which is said to number
half-a-mlllion Masons in the States alone , of whom some 60 , 000 are Knight Templars . —Star of Guernsey . There was a large gathering of the brethren at Orange , New Jersey , U . S . A , on Wednesday , the 16 th November last , on the occasion of a new Masonic Hall , built by the Union Lodge , which is located in the town , at a cost of 60 , 000 dollars , being opened . Bro . R .
